....at stealing. I call it healthy competition. But then again, that competition completely 'pwns' the others. eg. Xbox, Windows. Note: Don't flame me for saying Xbox.

Please... don't talk with me about 9/11.
Anyway, yes, victims of tragedies would launch stones at me. That's the problem. They would be willing to attack others based on what would makes them feel better now, without thinking or caring about the repercussions.

I hope you really are the way you're saying people should be, and are not just saying this "just because that's how you think it's supposed to be". You can't teach something without knowing how to do it first, so I hope you're really capable of doing the things you're saying. Give a solid example of how you've accomplished this and then you'll have credibility. Linux and open source software will "pwn" Microsoft in the future. Just give it some years (about 8-10 years). I am a big fan of offtopicness. It brings a lot of new things to talk about. After all, don't we come here to discuss? Staying on the same topic only reduces the amount of things we can talk about... I know he wasn't killed, but still... Are you going to forget that? It happened almost 14 years ago, and you still remember. I wouldn't forget about it either if I were in your place.

Well, I used to get into a lot of fights. Endless taunting and bully problems, you get the idea. I started thinking that it would be easier to let it “slide” then to fistfight, and I was right. I don’t get angry that much anymore. But you don’t care about that.
That’s fine. I’ll raise the stakes. My brother destroyed my first Nintendo 64 for reasons I can’t remember. My first reaction was to destroy his playstation- at that point, for me, bitter vengeance would have never glown so bright nor sang so sweet. But I thought about it. It would only cost us more if I did that, and it still wouldn’t prevent him from destroying my own equipment, it would encourage it. I didn’t destroy his playstation. That’s not it either, is it?
Raise the stakes. Driving. People cut me off, people nearly crash into me changing lanes. What should I do? Honk at them and give them the finger? No, it tends to escalate and once in a while people get into real fights. (I saw it happen once, after a drivers ed. Class.) What if they threaten me? I let it “slide,” for the same reasons. I don’t get angry much while driving. Still not quite what you’re looking for?
I will Raise. The. Stakes. One last time. I implied this before, somewhere else, but still… fine. My brother and I almost killed each other once. He took one of the large kitchen knives and threatened me with it, yelling about “picking on someone smaller then you” (He got that idea from stuff I did many years before that. Why it exploded at the time, and like that, I don’t know) he didn’t think it through, and I could have just as easily gotten a larger knife and stabbed him with it. Why shouldn’t I have? He was threatening to kill me, my life was at stake- anyone could have seen it as self defense… I chose not to play his game. There were and are millions of reasons why I shouldn’t cut him to pieces... eventually, (more out of frustration then anything else) he threw down the knives and left to be with his friends.
That was the last time I was genuinely angry; 3 years ago. I don't think about it much, after all, it's in the past. The way I see it is this: Anger is powerful, but it's always beaten by understanding.

Linux and open source software will "pwn" Microsoft in the future. Just give it some years (about 8-10 years). Just a note: I use Mac OS X as a main operating system. I call it the 'pretty-stable-pay-to-use' Linux Distro. Yeah, I would use Slackware if I wasen't such a gamer, but since I...play a ton of games on my computer, I guess I'm stuck on LEVEL UP ! !.

Just remember that Mac OS X is not Linux. It, however, is based on UNIX, just like Linux.
Slackware Linux is among the harder-to-use Linux distributions.
Don't worry. When Linux becomes popular, videogame makers will start making versions of their games for Linux.
You are totally confusing "anger" with "love to your family". None of the examples you gave dealt with what occurs after losing a loved one, in regard to wars. Sorry, but let me tell you that compulsive anger doesn't have much to do with the origin of problems between most nations. Compulsive anger lasts only for a short while.
I strongly suggest that you look for an explanation of why people act wrongly, and not just "letting it slide". For example, if you understand that stress can make a lot of people act rude while driving, you will not feel any anger at all when someone gives you the finger for standing in their way, because you will understand that those people are under a lot of stress, and stress is making them act this way, and that they most likely would apologize if they overcome their stress and happen to meet you again. I didn't always understand this, since stress doesn't cause me in particular to be agressive to others, but instead depresses me.

Unreal Tournament 2004, for example, is Linux Capable...
Same here, but there are exceptions... There can be fools who insist on 'having a pop' at you. I recently encountered this with a mass spammer on a board, i'm moderator on. This person decided it was a good idea to hurl some abuse toward my mom. I didn't take it nicely at all, and responded very nastily. Let's just say, I don't swear that badly, over anything... I was ready to send him to hospital, but he's thousands of miles away, and my fist doesn't reach that far...

If you’re asking me to provide an example of someone I loved and known who has died in war, then I cannot. The closest thing is one of my cousins dying in Vietnam.
But the rage of the moment does matter. In that instant, the hatred for the opposition tends to be so deep that all thoughts are based on the idea that the opposition is nothing more then soulless butchers, or that the loved one was killed by the opposition for no reason. Once the mind is made up about that, then the hatred sets in, and the hatred doesn’t fade away. It’s always there, just beneath the surface. My best friend has an uncle whose brother died in Vietnam. Don’t even try talking to him about the Johnson administration- he loathes Lyndon and is very vocal about it, when the subject comes up. That’s alright.
What isn't alright is that he if he had met Lyndon he would have kiledl him. Said it himself. Once again, that is the problem. Acting on the hatred, hatred that stemms from the initial surge of anger. It is stupid and impossible to try to stop the emotional aspect of it. Instead, the action must be stopped.
...Know what? Why don't I just summarize my typing points. * Learn from and don't forget the past, but don't dwell on it either. * Understand that no amount of vengance can stop what has already happened. * Think about and work toward something that will make the future better, not what will satisfy emotions from the past. * It's all about Self Control. Everything else- including but not limited too- honor, integrity, perseverance, courtesy and Righteousness don't mean anything without Self Control.

You make it sound oh-so-easy. I assure you that not even you would be able to overcome your hate when a loved one is involved, just like your best friend's uncle. In fact I highly doubt there is anyone who can...
We all know what the right thing is, even criminals. The difference is that criminals don't want to do the right thing.
Once again, you are giving an example that is on a PERSONAL level. This is not what we were originally talking about. But oh well...
Speaking of such individuals, I've met two already. I had to send them to hell...

In that case, I need a situation that seems hopeless. An example with destruction and woe on a grand scale.
Israel vs Palestine. There’s a hopeless situation. The two sides have been belting each other for nearly 60 years. Each side has done something that the other can never forgive them for… it goes back and forth in a never ending cycle of bombings, oppression, more bombings, more oppression, bombings in crowded areas, oppression with tanks, more/larger bombings in heavily crowded areas and more oppression with tanks behind a curtain of air strikes.
Think about the twisted logic both sides are using: “But he killed my brother! I have the right to kill him!” That’s all they consider, ignoring the last part, the most important part: “Does that mean his brother has the right to kill you?”
Ignoring that final piece is what fuels the constant retaliation; refusing to acknowledge the suffering of the opposition.
You’re right, though, about people not wanting to do it. It’s so much easier to think of your own suffering then it is to understand the oppositions. There has to be a point where people not only start considering but also start acting on what makes the future better instead of satisfying the past.
It will be interesting to see when understanding does become easier then hatred. It doesn’t look like it’s going to happen anytime soon, but when the destruction and body counts are high enough… it just might happen.
Or, there isn’t a breaking point. Maybe it’s never easy to understand; in that case, they will keep going back and forth until either all of the Israelites, or all of the Palestinians, are dead.
