Ack!!! Heard the news? Resident Evil 4 has been announced for PS2! Oh i hate that! Everyone is hyped up about it coming for Gamecube, but now it will be released end of 2005 for PS2!
Sure, Gamecube owners get it before them, but why cant Sony just let Nintendo have a "Gamecube Exclusive" label on it for once!?!
Oh other news, Microsoft are being helped by Sony...dunno why, but i think they may be joining forces to try and end Nintendo's career!!!

If you ask me, it's not that much of a big deal really. As long as the game comes out I'm happy, regardless of console.(Besides I already have both GCN and PS2. My older bro sold the Xbox. :X) Besides wasn't Resident Evil 0 only for GCN? EDIT-Also, since it'll be on more than one console, the sales of the game will definatly be higher and more money to Capcom.

Gates getting help? Why can't I see that happening? TRIPLE BONUS MULTIPLIER ! !~
Seriously, there isn't anything wrong with the PS2 console. I know that once upon a time, I used to be an all out Nintendo girl, but after giving Sony a trial, I gotta say, I really like their DDR games. o.O

Yeah, both the Resident Evil Remake and Resident Evil 0 are still GCN exclusive so its not really a matter of "for once"
At the end of the day, the game was developed for the GCN so for it to be on the PS2 it will basically be ported and some stuff will have to go. Powerful as the PS2 is, it has some limits and in terms of sheer graphical abilites, its behind the cube. Especially as far as textures are concerned and with RE4 being a full 3D real time game, its all textures instead of pre-rendered backgrounds.
The reason most multi-format games look so similar between consoles is that they are usually developed on the weakest console (ie PS2) and then ported onto the more powerful ones. This is how Metal Gear Solid 2 actually performed worse on the Xbox than on the PS2. (slow down etc). Not because the PS2 was more powerful, but because the Xbox port was poorly done.
But porting from a more powerful system to a weaker one... well, you just have to look at PC games ported onto consoles to see the usual results.
Oh, and this isn't Nintendo fanboy-ism or putting the PS2 down. Its just a matter of techical facts. The PS2 hardware is older and has its limits. Texture resolution being one of the major ones.

I don't really think they would take it off of GCN because they want to "ruin it", and "shut it down".
Considering PS2 has many more adult gamers tagged with it, considering Resident Evil games tend to be...more adult-y, they would go with the console that caters to that age group. (Not saying that Nintendo isn't all around, but they sure make it seem kid-centered.)
