You do know that Yoshies didn't speak english (except for maybe Mario's Yoshi) in the games. (Yoshi had to be a translater in Super Mario RPG. I can't remember how that worked in Paper Mario.) And when he did, it was certainly not like that protrayed in the cartoon. Although I do take offense at how Nintendo's Pokémon with characters that spoek their own name has influenced Yoshi's vocalization. How is he in current games (such as Smash Bros. or Mario Party)? Has he said anything else?  In what way did Pokémon influence Yoshi's speech whatsoever? They're worlds apart! |

I've decided to take back my statement about Yoshi's speech (that which is opinon, not necessarily fact). Yoshi does have a wider vocabulary than most Pokémon. But I still miss his distinctive (althouh more "primitive") reverse-vinyl-record-scratching sound.

Why they did that, I don't know. But for certain it was not because of Pokemon. If it was, then they'd have made him one. |
