A single virus made you absent for that long? What kind of virus was it?

Your Antivirus couldn't get rid of them. Oh dear... I'm guessing they were Adware/Spyware then, the Antivirus I have don't touch those.

and it could be attached to the "temporary files" and make spwan (i dont know if it is spwan when it takes the file back from the internet) and the attach the virus to it. There was several spywere in my computer there... (78 spywere actually)

Always a good idea to have some sort of protection. Best way really is, if that's your own computer, get a hold of Mozilla FireFox. It doesn't go installing things by itself, and keeps your computer safe. Admittedly, I don't have AntiVirus software on here. Haven't done for months. Never got infected. Doesn't mean I won't though. You just never know. If something goes wrong, I'll reinstall windows. Only takes an hour and a half of my time. Get AdAware: www.lavasoft.deGet FireFox: www.GetFirefox.comAlso, switch on your Windows Firewall too!

Trojan horse, most likely. Perhaps you were lucky. Trojan horse code open ways into your computer, making your Firewall useless, then a script kiddie(A wannabe hacker) connects to that port, and allows them free access to your PC.
Some firewall softwares detect ports becomming open and alerts the user that a certain program is attempting to access the internet. If in doubt, always terminate the program, as it says in the dialog that pop's up. That way, you know you're secure.

it can make it's home anywhere on the hard drive. almost always in a temp folder, but they can store itself somewhere really important too.

In case anyone is in need of a virus scanner, get AVG from www.grisoft.com . From what I've seen so far, its good... found a few viruses that my copy of VirusScan didn't find... time to let my old scanners subscription expire ...Its also free

Theres something wierd about the virus I got: I always get this pop up that says "Your free 90 day trial of Mcfree Virus scan or something has expired" but after I have gotten that pop op multiple times the virus was cleaned. Its wierd.

I think my older computer had a virus once....yes! Yes it did, I'm quite sure, I remeber this thing that would pop up (the screen turned all blue I think) and it said.....something. I researched and found out that it was a computer problem (either a virus or something wrong in the computer system itself)...dang it I forget most of the story! But what it did was delete my wordpad docs. It was HORRIBLE! I would be working on a school report, and couldn't save it, because the message might pop up and delete it! Plus I had to work fast, because the message would pop up and delelte it if I waited too long, too! That was the worst thing on my comouter that I can remember. Imagine having a long thing to type on the computer, and then having to do it multiple times because it keeps getting deleted before you finish working on it! Thank God that's over with now.
Btw, it started with a c and was very long, didn't look like a virus name to me.....

I found the name of what it was in my computer a few days ago. I was wrong, it didn't start with a c, it started with a K. It was called "KRNL386.exe". And this message would come up that said "Explorer caused a general protection fault in module KRNL386.exe at 0001:000075a2."
Yeah, I wrote it down on paper, thought the paper was gone, but it wasn't afterall! I think that was what was messing up the docs then.
