I actually use my deviantArt account now? What madness is this?!

Oh well. Anyways, I'm still restricted to pixel-art currently, and it'll be about a week before I get a tablet for this computer and will actually be able to do "real" digital art, so to fill some space, I'm going to add this in.
This here is actually a little critter I did on my one-week vacation that I just got back from. I brought along my laptop, which had Paint Shop Pro 8 installed on it (unpatched version, but still seemed to run fine). I also brought with me a prototype for a game that I was working on. I realized that the game needed a character graphic, so I cracked open Paint Shop Pro and went to work.
First I drew a few reference shapes on a vector layer (I like the way PSP does vectors, as opposed to Photoshop or GIMP), where I had the dumb idea of adding fox-like ears to a dragon-like body. The result looked like some kind of lizard/dragon/other species. In fact, I'm not entirely sure what species this guy is supposed to be. You can be the judge.
The critter is actually composed of seven different limbs: The head, tummy, front and back arms, front and back legs, and the tail. In the game engine, these actually bob up and down while the character is idle, among other things. Perhaps there's a lack of animation in the legs, though.
I'm thinking that when I learn how to program in C++ with the Allegro game library (that is, if it ever happens), I might put this guy into an actual game. Seems a bit far-off, but hey, you can dream, right?
