All right, so I couldn't finish the story on chapter 2, but I'll probably finish it on Chapter 3. Enjoy Chapter 2!
Anjil and Joshi ran to the old abandoned mine on the far side of the town. They found no trace of the purple culprit. They noticed there were Piranha Plants at the entrance. They seem to be guarding the entrance.
“Joshi, when you entered the mine, were there guards?” asked Anjil.
“No, it was pretty empty. I didn’t see any Piranhas at all. I don’t see how they arrived here so quickly. That’s odd.”
Tim Yoshi, Mailtroid, Teh Yoshi, Koshizu, Night Croshi, Fifth, and even Yoshiken joined up with Anjil.
“Where did you all come from?” asked Anjil.
“I led them here. I overheard you both talking about going to the Underground Mines so I hollered to the gang.” Tim Yoshi explained.
“Ooh, those are some nasty looking piranhas. What now?” asked Night Croshi.
“Hmm, they appear rather vicious, and revolting. We should formulate a plan.” suggested Fifth.
“Hey Joshi, what’s that new experiment you have?” asked Mailtroid.
“Oh this? This is a cool YATE air conditioner. This is experiment 6. So convenient, don’t you think, especially for those hot summer days.”
“No, no, no, the other one,” said Mailtroid. “The unusual looking one, I’ve never seen you with it.”
“It’s a Stealth Disguise Generator: Experiment 69. Night Croshi and I found it lying on the ground near an alley. We gave it to Anjil who apparently delivered it to Joshi.” explained Fifth.
“Hey, that was mine! Give it back!” demanded Yoshiken.
“Oh well, your loss, Mr. Draconi. Now it’s not the time to ask for your stuff back. Hey, maybe I can use this to enter the mines and immobilize the Piranhas,” said Joshi. “I know, I’ll disguise myself as the thief! How did he look like again?”
“He appeared purple to me.” said Anjil.
“All right, then purple I shall be.”
Joshi activates the Stealth Disguise Generator and appeared somewhat to look like the thief.
“I’ll need two of you to act as my prisoners, one to give the signal to the others when I ask for it, and the rest stay here. I choose Anjil and Mailtroid to be my prisoners, and, Teh seems to be very motivated. Teh Yoshi, you give the signal.”
“Ok.” both Mailtroid and Anjil agreed.
“Sure! Why not?” agreed Teh.
“So it’s decided then, let’s move out!” yelled Joshi.
Joshi held Anjil and Maltroid tightly and they pretended to try to escape Joshi to make it seem real. Joshi approached the Piranhas and they promptly gave way to Joshi, Anjil, and Mailtroid. Joshi powered up his YATE Paralysis Bind Whip and Mailtroid prepared his Blaster. Joshi pointed to the guard on the right and Mailtroid to the guard on the left. Joshi gave a jolt to his whip and blew away the Piranha to the right and Mailtroid burned the Piranha on the left to crisps. Joshi gave the signal to Teh Yoshi, who instructed the others to move forward. Everyone quickly joined.
“Come on, the lost items are through here.” Joshi said as he led them to a huge opening filled with many items.
“Wow, look at all the stolen goods!” said Anjil as her eyes beamed at all the magnificent treasures.
“My medallion! Hurrah! I found it!” yelled Teh Yoshi with excitement.
“Look, my ring. I can’t believe I found my ring. Thank heavens, I thought I lost it for good.” sighed Koshizu as she firmly held her ring.
“My bandana,” yelled Yoshiken in relief. “Now I’ll be the villain with the coolest hair around! All right! No one can match the good looks of my bandana. Ha ha ha ha ha!”
Anjil looked as hard as she could for her Locket, but there was no sign of it. Everyone was happy and cheerful, but the locket was yet to be found. She sat down in the corner where the “#1 Graedius the Red Mage Fan” stood. A trapdoor opened and she fell through it. She opened her wings but could not fly in such a narrow passage. She fell on a cart and it began to move. Slowly, it caught more speed. She rode down the hill, to the lower parts of the mines. The car soon reached the end and she was thrown off. She tried to look for a way out and saw the thief again. He held her locket.
“Looking for this? I believe it’s mine now.”
“Who are you, and why are you stealing everyone’s prized possessions? Please, return my Locket. It is my only memento of my mother. You cannot take it away from me.”
“You want it? Then you better catch me!
The thief ran with the shiny Sapphire Locket. It shone brightly in her eyes and she sped up as she looked closer into it. He led her uphill, downhill, and even through hazardous wastes. They stopped in this giant room with many cracks and a few bats flying around.
“I’ve got you now!” panted Anjil.
“On the contrary, I have you. Here, pick it up.”
The thief threw the Locket at a designated area to her left. She angrily picked the Locket up and placed it around her neck.
“What a fool you are.” smiled the thief as he pressed a button.
The floor began to shake around the room. The ground under Anjil’s feet collapsed and she fell lower and lower until she could not sink any lower into the mines. The thief laughed sinisterly and escaped to the surface.
Anjil woke up and found small creatures around her. They were almost transparent and they smiled at her locket. With fright, Anjil stood up and backed away from the little creatures. They seemed like shadows, or ghosts. Her Locket shone on them and they proceeded to move forward towards her.
“Who are you?” asked Anjil, frightened.
“We are the shadows of the stars. We were lured away from them by this cruel person who held that same Locket. He trapped us down here and we can’t escape. Please help us.”
“That thief did this to you? I don’t understand why anyone would do such a thing. I wonder if my friends are thinking of me right now. What if they didn’t notice I was gone?”
“Friends don’t forget. I’m sure they are looking for you right now. How did you get down here?”
“You see, it’s a long story really. The thief stole this Sapphire Locket away from me. He stole the others’ prized possessions as well. We came looking for them here because this friend of mine, Joshi, told us we would find our stolen items here. We did, except for me. I sat down in the farthest corner, and all of the sudden I fell through a hole. This cart led me to the lowest parts of the mines where I encountered the thief. I followed him since he held my Locket and lured me into this room where he dropped me here. Now I have no idea where I am. Can you help me?”
“Of course we would. We need your help too to return to our stars. Without a shadow, they won’t shine.”
“Oh, come here and give me a huggle. Come on, let’s find our way out of here!”
Anjil and the star shadows walk through the dark mines. Her Locket seemed to illuminate the passages. They moved with haste cautiously and with awareness, as if it were a maze full of surprises on every corner. They found a path that leads upwards. Her Sapphire Locket shone more brightly here, since darkness grew. They moved quickly in hopes of reaching the surface.
“Anjil’s gone!” yelled Tim Yoshi.
“What? How is that possible, she was right there?” asked Joshi.
“Ha! You careless little fools! She’s in the lower levels of the mines. While you were happily celebrating for finding your lost goods, I opened a trapdoor that threw her to the bottom. Now you will never see her again!” yelled the thief from the entrance,
“You lied to me! Now you will pay severely! 80% of the things in this cave belong to me! Now I want my end of the bargain!” yelled Yoshiken.
“Quiet you pathetic criminal. You will never be a big shot villain because you don’t have the Criminal Master Mind, like me. You were so easily fooled. You are a mockery to evil all around this world. Figures, you can’t expect much from hair obsessed dragon-Yoshies.”
“Hey, that’s no way to talk to Yoshiken. He’s not that pathetic. Well ... he’s a bit clueless most of the time but, it’s not his fault.” supported Mailtroid.
“Yeah I mean, he does pretty much the weak...” Night Croshi said before he was interrupted.
“Cut it out, cut it out, cut it out! You are not helping! Some good guys you are!” yelled Yoshiken
“You thief! I demand that you bring back our Anjil safely! Do that or face our wrath!” threatened Joshi.
The thief smiled at the party as Anjil was walked upwards towards the surface with the shadows of the stars. Will her Sapphire Locket lead her and the shadows to safety?
