Mowrylean looked at Joshi and Joshi looked back at him. Mowrylean smiled cheerfully.
“Tell me, what’s your name?” he asked with the same smile.
“I’m Joshi.”
“Joshi? I’ve never seen you around these parts... you aren’t from around here are you? How did you get here?”
A short pause took place before Joshi’s response. Joshi sighed and decided to tell Mowrylean, who might at least help him. Joshi lost the smile in exchange for a sad face.
“I was taken away from my beloved family by this wayward Dragon-Yoshi named Yoshiken Draconi. He snatched me and told me I’m going to a better family, one that will rule the world. He left me in a cage, as I just laid there crying, and the funny thing is that I had a dream, and you were in it. So was Yoshiken, but there were others; a girlish figure, a creature that looks like you but bigger, and a Yoshi with a cannon for a hand. The next thing I knew, there was a storm, it opened the shipment door, and my cell slid downwards. I fell from the sky into this forest, the one right near here, the storm was pretty rough, so I came here to rest for the day, at least until the storm goes away.”
“Aha! So my brother is up to no good with my experiments. Agent Draconi and his slick abilities, sometimes he’s a real pain. The one who commanded your capture was my brother, Lieutenant Tronzoa, he looks just like me except he’s bigger and stronger. People often confuse me for that rotten brother of mine. Don’t worry Joshi, I will never let him or his Agent Draconi bring harm to you, but I’ll need you to fulfill my dreams. Joshi, I know I can’t replace your beloved family, but I’ll be glad to take you in as one of my own, until we find your true family. What do you think?”
Joshi looked at Mowry with a big smile. He cried, not because he was sad, but because of joy. He hugged Mowry and Mowry hugged him back. Then Joshi let go with another question.
“But why me Mowry? Why is it I who he hunts for?”
“I’m not sure how he knew you were the one with the purest heart, but some how he figured it out. He wants you because he needs you to use my experiments to rule the Universe. I know that he’s got the wrong Yoshi to use as evil though, your heart is too pure for the likes of him.” he smiled back at Joshi.
“One more thing Mowry.”
“Yes?”
“Can I call you dad?”
“Sure, feel free to call me dad, son.”
The two of then began to laugh when a virtual reality call just arrived. Mowry walked up to the experiment and asked Joshi to activate it. Joshi walked up to the experiment, held it with his hand, and pointed towards the center of the room. The experiment glowed and the projector shone on the floor, revealing the person completely.
“Hey, that’s the girlish figure I saw in my dream!” yelled Joshi recognizing her.
“Why that’s my sister, Celestial, she works on the Intergalactic Communications Tower. She plays a big role in our world, that’s what inspired me to become a genius in mechanics and formed this Institute, Yoshi Advanced Technologies Enterprise, but you can call it YATE for short.”
“Hi big brother! How have you been today? Did you get married, is that your child? Why wasn’t I invited?” said Celestial crossing her arms.
“Ha ha ha, very funny Celestial. Well, since he was separated from his family by you-know-who, I took him in and gave him a home in here. Celestial, I want you to meet Joshi of the purest heart.” he said as he turned his face to Joshi.
“Hi Celestial! Nice to meet you in virtual reality!” Joshi said shaking hands with the projected Celestial.
“Nice to meet you in VR too Joshi, I wish I could meet you in reality but I’m drastically busy. Wait hold on, I have some one on the other line,” she said turning away. “Oh! Hey all, it’s Mailtroid, I want you to meet him, he’s part Chozo, part-Yoshi, a bit like me actually.”
Celestial pressed a button and another projected figure appeared beside her.
“Hey Celestial, who’s this broad?” he asked.
“Hey that’s the guy with a cannon for an arm I saw in my dream!” yelled Joshi pointing at Mailtroid.
“Joshi, don’t say things like that that’s rude. Nice to meet you Mailtroid.” said Mowrylean.
“Sorry dad.”
“Heh, that’s okay, why deny the truth? Oh my, I gotta go, something important I must find. Goodbye!” said Mailtroid as he waved at Mowry and Joshi.
“He waved at me! He waved at me, just like in my dream!”
“Yes, it’s called a friendly gesture.” laughed Mowry.
“Oh this is awkward, I must leave too. See you all later, nice meeting you Joshi.” said Celestial as she deactivates her connection with the projector.
Joshi picked up the projector and put it back in place. Mowry came running up to Joshi to give him a big hug. Joshi started laughing.
“Ha ha ha, oh thanks for activating that thing Joshi. I’ve been dying to talk to my sister for a very long time! I have a few other experiments I would like to test, but first.” He stopped and walked to a huge screen.
He typed in a few characters and Lt. Tronzoa appeared on the screen. Mowry called Joshi to come to the front of the screen and Lt. Tronzoa slammed his desk. Mowry stuck out his tongue in front of Lt. Tronzoa and he got twice as furious.
“CAN SOMEBODY PLEASE EXPLAIN TO ME WHY MY LITTLE BROTHER HAS OUR TICKET TO RULING THE UNIVERSE?” he yelled as he spotted Mowry laughing at him.
Yoshiken gasped and wondered how Joshi escaped from the cell. He tried to sneak away but Lt. Tronzoa already caught sight of him. Lt. Tronzoa ran fast towards Yoshiken and grabbed him by the neck.
“Listen here Agent Draconi, I believe anything that fails should be destroyed. Get back there and snatch Joshi, or you’ll fail to see the light of day again!” he yelled at Yoshiken’s face before releasing him into the floor.
