Prequel to The Stolen Cookies
Titled- The Creation of Yo'ster Isle
By: Gerry Dragan III
One day, a good omen appeared. Next to a secluded country called the Mushroom Kingdom in the water, tremors began happening. Steam was rising from the pure ocean water, and after a few seconds, the water began to boil. A few minutes later, a mixture of black and red colors were arriving to the surface. Strangely enough, with all of this activity, no one in the Mushroom Kingdom knew. Over night, burning rock arose from the sea, shooting balls of flame into the surrounding area, but it never awoke a soul. As this black rock was lifted, it brought with it fertile soil. That morning, a new island had risen from the sea! Meanwhile, a small band of creatures were living in a tropical forest on the rim of the Mushroom Kingdom. Most were green, but their colors ranged from red, yellow, pink, and even blue. These creatures were called yoshis and weren't known to even exist by the mushroom people! Through the night, these yoshis had heard the volcano erupting and were now on an adventure to find it. They were curious because they lived like the amish, they never used mechanical technology.
As they traveled through the forest, they saw strange creatures, they were known as koopas. Koopas are like walking, talking turtles that like to fight, but the yoshis avoided them. As they kept up, they found two more creatures, spikeys and goombas. Spikeys are like porcupines except they walk on two legs, are completely shielded, and like koopas they love to fight. Goombas are small, brown creatures that like to bite anyone, they also talk. The yoshis, being extremely carefule not to disturb their enemies, quietly continued on in the forest. But then, a bee was returning to it's hive, when it got lost and found the yoshis. Thinking the yoshis destroyed it's hive, it stung Boshi, the coolest of the yoshis, but has a bad temper. "YYYEEEEAAAAOOOOUUUUCCCCHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" yelled Boshi. As this startled the other yoshis, it woke up their enemies who were trying to sleep in. After Yoshi, the most couragous and well known of the village finally calmed Boshi down, the yoshis found that they had an even bigger problem than a petty bee sting, a koopa, a spikey, and a goomba were ready to serve breakfast, in knuckle sandwiches!
First, Loshi, a yellow yoshi, took on the goomba, as Loshi tried punching it, the goomba rolled out of the way and bit her tail. "Ouch! You're a little demon, how dare you!" Loshi turned around and smacked the goomba, and finished the job by whacking it with her tail and into the bushes, "Serves you right!" remarked Loshi. Poshi, a pink yoshi, was taking on the spikey. As Poshi readied herself for a close range attack, the spikey leaped up and threw a spike from its back at Poshi. Poshi used her tounge in an attempt to flick away the spike, but her reflexes forced her to swallow it and turn it into an egg. (Yoshis have the handy ability to turn whatever they swallow into an egg.) It hurt going down, but Poshi got an idea. "Hey, you really want to hit a pretty gal like me? Then go ahead and stomp on me!" she yelled. The spikey, having a small penut brain, climbed onto a tree limb and jumped... expecting to land on Poshi. But Poshi cracked her egg and held the spike on top of her head. Before the spikey knew what happened, he was on the ground with some cracked armor. It looked up at Poshi and chuckled, "Heheh, nice trick pink thing! But I still got my armor!". Just then, his shell was cracked some more and fell off in shards. As Poshi looked around to see who had done it, she heard Boshi's voice, "Yo Pink dudette, throw me back ma' spiked wristband!" "Oh, thanks Boshi!" yelled Poshi as she threw back Boshi's wristband. "No prob Posh!", Boshi remarked before swallowing it. After getting his egg, he yelled, "Yo, duck!" At first, Poshi was confused, then she saw Boshi's egg flying at her and she ducked! The now un-armored spikey was in the way of the egg and POW, he got hit! The spiked arm brace hit the spikey in the head, knocking it unconsious. Again, Poshi took it and threw it to Boshi. Yoshi however had bigger fish to fry. He had been fighting the koopa the entire time and it seemed to be able to take anything Yoshi could dish out... and was giving it back too. Boshi then yelled to Yoshi, "Yosh, stomp on the shell. I used ta be in a gang and we beat up koopa kids fer lunch moneys." As Yoshi payed antention to his friend, the koopa gave him a good trip. As Yoshi got back up, he jumped up to stomp on the koopa, but the koopa jumped and punched Yoshi in the stomach. Poshi then threw an egg at the koopa, and since eggs broke easily, the koopa defended himself with his shell. But when the second the egg made contact, he was out of his shell! Yoshi looked up to see what had happened and saw Loshi on top of the shell!!! "Wow, nice plan Poshi!!" Boshi then beat up the koopa and sent him crying. The Yoshis celebrated their first victory and continued their adventure.
After leaving the forest, they finally came to the beach... and saw a red yoshi!! Yoshi decided to go up to him, "Hey, what are you doing all the way out here?" asked Yoshi. "Ah, mi nombre es Roshi. Esa isla subio el otro dia y vine preguntandome que podría estar pasando. Se ve como una linda isla, pero mi hogar es con mi gente... vas a ir hacia allá?" said the red yoshi.
"Huh?" thought Yoshi. The other yoshis were confused as well. "Uhhh, pardon???" asked Yoshi. "No habla español? ... Sorry, spanish is native tounge. I said my name is Roshi and was curious why island got there. Do you need to be going there?" asked Roshi. "Well, we want to." replied Yoshi. "Let me get you Mario. He flys and is super hero. He saves Mushroom Kingdom from Bowser and saves Peach. Peach is the princess." replied Roshi. "Oh, could you get him please?" asked Yoshi. "Ci... I mean yes, hold on." said Roshi before running to his village. The other yoshis waited for about twenty minutes before Roshi returned with Mario. "This be Mario. Mario, yoshis need you help them to get to island, yes?" said Roshi. "Seal!" said Yoshi. "That's CI, my friend!" said Roshi. "Oh, haha, Ci!" chuckled Yoshi. Mario then took a feather and weld it into a cape, "Let's fly over to the island!" exclaimed Mario. He took each Yoshi one by one to the island and by the end of the day, each Yoshi was on their island, which was later named Yo'ster Isle. Yoshi became good friends with Mario over the next few weeks and they kept in touch with Roshi too. But one day, Roshi's village had to move because there were no longer any crops or fertile soil, thus they lost contact with him. Shortly after, Mario had to save Princess Peach from Bowser, and he never returned, perhaps he forgot about them? Anyway, the yoshis settled into their new home and continued their peaceful lives on the new Yo'ster Isle.
!!!THE END!!!
(This is what Roshi first said to Yoshi for those of you who are curious ^_^)-Oh, my name is Roshi. That island rose up the other day and I came wondering what had happened. It looks like a nice island, but my home is with my people... are you going there?
