Chapter 1 - The Legend of the Star Pieces
In the clear blue ocean, a boat was sailing to a tropical island with a passenger on board,
A small yoshi kid named Gonzales Jr. was sitting on the bow of the ship, staring at the island getting closer and closer. “ We’ll be there in five minutes Jr.,” the sailor said. Jr. nodded while looking out the horizon.
“ So that’s Yoshi Island. Gonzal-I mean Mario told me about this place. It looks great! I think I’ll stay here for a little while longer.”
As soon as the boat hit the shoreline, Jr. jumped off the boat and turned around to the sailor. “ Just head east from here and you should see it,” he said. “Thanks man. I’ll see you later,” Jr. said and walked off. As he walked off along the beach, a glitter in the water caught his eyes. He walked up on shore and looked at the piece. He dug it found what looks like a star piece but it was shaped like lightning bolt. He picked it up found a rope around it. He put around his neck and continued. He reached the entrance and found a red yoshi sleeping near the sign. Jr. stared at him and shrugged and kept walking. As he walked, a yoshi with a feather on his head yelled out at him. He turned around and was confused. “ Yeah. What’s up?” the yoshi looked at him and his piece around his neck. “Hi. I’m the Yoshi Village Leader. I called you because of that piece around your neck,” the leader said. “What this piece? I found it on the beach while walking here,” Jr. said. “That’s no ordinary piece, that’s a Yoshi Star piece!” Jr. was confused, trying to figure out what he just said. “ Follow me,” said the leader as he walked off. Jr. followed him which lead him to his house. They went inside and the leader sat down. “Please sit down,” the leader said in a calm voice. Jr. sat down and wondered what’s going on. “The reason I called you here is because of this.” He walked up to the table and picked up a box and gave it to Jr.. Jr. opened it to be surprised. “Another star piece?” Jr. was in shocked, the piece glittered in his eyes and closed it tightly. “ Yes. It’s a star piece but a different element. The one you got has the power of thunder and the one you saw has the power of Ice. I knew that someone had a piece because it reacted so wildly by glowing a mysterious light. Each one will react to another piece and once a piece found the right person. It’ll float right to its owner,” he said.
“Yeah mine didn’t do that. Does that mean that this isn’t mine,” Jr. said in suspense. “There is one way… hold out your hand and concentrate on your hand,” he said standing up. Jr. stood up, held out his palm and concentrated really hardly. He started to sweat a little bit, and then a spark came out and then another. His hand glowed and sparked like crazy. Jr. tried to lower his power but it grew a lit the area. The leader went around him and took off the piece. The power quickly faded and Gonzales was exhausted. “I see. You have the power but you can’t control it all the way,” he said in a low voice. “Listen, you to find other pieces and owner of the pieces to help you out on your journey,” the leader said. “For what?” Jr. wondered what journey. “You’ll have to find out by yourself. Oh and take this piece, find someone who can use this,” he said. Jr. nodded and walked out the door.
Jr. walked around the village to find someone but no reaction. He walked into the jungle and the piece started to react. He ran as the piece reacted more wildly. He stopped to find two yoshis: a green one and a blue one with their heads in the bushes. “Hmm… what are those two doing?”
