I agree that making a read only archive is a good way.
(I hope I am not doing things bad here, since I can not actually understand all of the posts...)

I've seen many a forum site with 30,000+ pages, most of it from '03, and they won't get their lazy butts up and do a thing about it. Save the past in a read forum, and on to the future. It'll be our own "Great Leap Forward". Except it'd be "Great Leap Forward Jr." And if you don't know what the Great Leap Forward is, then research Japan.XD
