About 2500 years ago, there was a village somewhere in a faraway jungle. There were many of every Mario-world species living there. However, there was only one human there--a 16-year-old dragoon named Yoshima.
He's well acquainted with the Yoshis in the village and is a highly-skilled knight. He wore a red sheet on his waist with a yellow metal belt, red-lined dark-blue gloves with spiked knuckles, tall yellow cuffs with light-blue diamond shapes over the knees, and a black helmet shaped like a Yoshi's head with red scars on top and a green triangle on each cheek, and it had a gold top with big screws at the forehead and on each side. The screw on the forehead had an emblem on a human with a dragon's head. He also had 2 red scars on each side of his abdomen and a yellow star on each arm.
He also had a girlfriend--a purple Yoshi girl with blue hair, an orange jacket robe, pink wirstbands, and pink sandals. Her name was Amethyst. She always considered Yoshima the bravest in the village and often defended him from harm caused by the jerks who assault Yoshima because he's human.
Yoshima: Look, Amethyst, I appreciate you trying to guard me from them, but I can handle it. I think...
Amethyst: Still, I'm worried. I know we're to have a happy, healthy family, but they might kill you, should they get the chance.
Yoshima: Well, I... ... ...You...got a point...but what if they kill you first?
Amethyst: You got me there...
Yoshima: Well, let's not worry about it until that day comes. Good night...
Later that night, the moon and stars shone brightly down to the village...until they were blocked by black clouds coming from nowhere. And the shadows seemed to move. They WEREN'T shadows at all. They rose as Dead Hands!
Yoshima and Amethyst heard them appear. Yoshima got into his battle gear.
Yoshima: If you're going to follow me, stay at a safe distance. I don't want you to fall into peril.
Amethyst: Okay.
They come out and see the Dead Hands searching the village. They then see the couple and charge. Yoshima slashes at all of them with his longsword to keep them all at bay. Then, they sank in and called their master--Stecrutrod!!
Amethyst: Stecrotrod...so it does exist. Yoshima, we must be cautious!
Yoshima: I know this isn't any thug coming at me!
Stecrutrod then surged into the shadows and spread a pool of darkness, which Yoshima and Amethyst avoid. However, 100 Dead Hands arise from it and grab Amethyst in a way that she can't escape.
Yoshima: Amethyst!!!
Yoshima tried to pull her free from the Dead Hands' grip, but they took her away into the darkness. Yoshima felt torn inside. Amethyst was gone, lost to Stectrutrod.
The Dead Hands arose again and grabbed Yoshima. He tried to fight against it, but couldn't. Suddenly, a spirit which looked like a human with a dragon's wings and tail and had a dragon statue's head. He pulled Yoshima free from the grasp. Yoshima and the spirit vanished in a flash of light.
