I think you mean Chrono Trigger, but I know some other RPGs.
Final Fantasy 2 (Originally FF4), Final Fantasy 3 (Originally FF6), Secret of Mana as an action-RPG, and if you like Secret of Mana a lot you can try Secret of Evermore (hey, -I- liked that game >_>)... Illusion of Gaia for another action-RPG, Earthbound for a funky RPG, and E.V.O.: Search for Eden for something that's loosley RPG but more platform/adventure.

Illusion of Gia and Earthbound were really good. And they still are Umm... I forgot. There was this other really fuhn game that's like Secret of Mana. It involved a boy and a dog. It was a sorta hard game too. In the begining, they went into the far past. I forgot the rest... EDIT: I found out what the game was, and Lance had already said it. It's called Secret of Evermore. It's an awesome game

Don't link to ROMsites in your posts, it's against the board rules.

Which happened to be in the form of "domainname.com" which is still a link, albeit not clickable. Decision stands.

Also, you might want to try:
Breath of Fire 1&2 Dragon Quest (Any) Tales of Phantasia Bahamut Lagoon
Okay, Bahamut Lagoon is not an RPG, but it's one of my favorite games. It's a tactical game, but then it's not.

RaYoshi, you just gained some cool points for knowing Secret of Evermore =P Hmm... I should try some of the Dragon Quest games myself. And I feel silly for not remembering Bahamut Lagoon, which I didn't get into enough. I think it's because I got that around the time I got another good RPG, and didn't split my time between the two ^^;

Yeah, Bahamut Lagoon -is- an RPG, don't listen to Ra. It's a cross between a Turn-Based Strategy(like Fire Emblem, which is another good game), and a traditional RPG, made by Squaresoft.
A good RPG, though not of the turn-based-stand-on-either-side-of-each-other kind is Wanderers fro m Ys. Be careful though, it's a brutally hard game.

LEVEL UP ! !It is pretty hard though ;^^

Yeah if you're interested in things like Bahamut Lagoon and Fire Emblem you should also try out Front Mission.

There -are- subcatagories and mixed genres of RPGs, such as Tactical RPG, Action RPG (Secret of Mana or Illusion of Gaia)... ...those are the only ones I know of offhand. I suppose other games have RPG elements, but aren't quite RPGs (Super Paper Mario) ...but then again, a 'Role Playing Game' would be any game where you act out as a character no matter the style of which you play it. Either that, or I'm thinking too much.

Either that, or I'm thinking too much. Well the proper term for it from my experience is Turn-Based Strategy. And Bahamut Lagoon isn't pure TBS either, as unit-vs-unit battles are handled like a traditional RPG. Generally when people call something an RPG, they mean something with an EXP system and levels. =P
