Thanks, I'm actually still new to the whole process of signing on to forums 'n stuff.  So how do you put your own pictures in for your avatar? I was thinking something more blue or black maybe. |

It's easy, just upload something to like..geocities, or photobucket, and set your Avatar URL for the URL of the pic you want.

a url is the website thingie...(www.blablabla/blaaahh/moo) or what ever....dun feel stupid...i didnt know that either when i was new...

Welcome, you can be almost as crazy as you want. Getting a picture isn't hard. Find a picture (of appropriate size/content), right click on it, then click on properties. Highlight the text that is accross from "URL" or "address," press Control+C to copy it, then Control+V to paste it into the avatar section. Let's say I wanted to make my avatar When Fluffy Bunnies Attack:  I would enter the URL (which happens to = www.wizards.com/global/images/magic/unhinged/when_fluffy_bunnies_attack.jpg ) into the avatar section. |

Welcome to Yoshi's corner. Getting an avatar onto the board is simple. Firstly, your image needs to be small. I use paint to do my avatars, so any photo editing application will do really, including Jasc's suite of applications. When you have an image ready, click 'Profile" on the top of this page and look for a field in your profile called "I have my own pic" and tick the box and enter the URL to it. Mine for example: img98.exs.cx/img98/2747/pfynewava13fn.jpgthen go straight down the bottom and click "Change Profile". If you're looking for somewhere to host your image, try www.imageshack.us. This is the one I use. Simply click the 'browse' button, browse and double click on the image you want to use, and click 'Host!'. Use the link it gives you at the bottom. Should say something like 'direct link' and paste that into your board profile. You're done! Again, Welcome to Yoshi's corner! |
