Complaining gets you nowhere. Many of us are just speaking up and out against the constant crap that people have been posting, you may have understood had you seen what we've seen. It IS a Yoshi board after all.
Still, nice to see some new faces around here, I hope you'll do well, though you shouldn't be too quick to judge.

There are a few animes I like... Is the character in your avatar Reki from .Hack//Legend of the Twilight? Kind of looks familiar to me.
So welcome, and don't worry about liking anime. Just try not to be overly obnoxious with it (like starting a dozen or so boards about anime a day, and that), and you'll do just fine.
