Has anyone here ever played Harvest Moon? I was thinking about buying it because my friend said it was like animal crossing. And I love Animal Crossing! So, any opinions about the game? Is it really like Animal Crossing?

Yes, the games are similar. That statment will probably get me mauled by rabid fans of either game.
Harvest Moon has a pre-set goal in mind, which is running a farm. The game is based around that idea, rather than "here's a house/city. Do stuff."

lets just say when i got harvest moon, i dumped animal crossing.
like lazoshi said, you are on a farm. you can by animals, go and grow food, find a love, theres just so much! you actually age in the game, you can have a child and you can get your child a job. (harvest moon, a wonderful life.) you can go and participate in festivals, go mine at a mining site, your towns people die and move away, new ones move in. i would rate it 5 stars.
cant wait for the ds one to come out = P (even though its still being worked on >,> )
