I dunno why, but I get odd feelings of a Smash Bros. action RPG where you control 1 character and another follows you and you both fight on the field, and for certain Special moves, there's a targeting ring of sorts that you move around (sometimes up and down). X would be to duck and Y would be to jump, and the field is a 3-D background. Special moves would be done like this example: MARIO Fireball: B Neutral Cape: B Moving (D-Stick) Super Jump Punch: B Jump (Y button) Mario Tornado: B Duck (X button)

Yeah, and their Smash Points used for special moves are like MP in Kingdom Hearts 1. Some moves don't use SP until they're successful, like Falcon Punch and PK Fire. Moves like Fire Breath lose gradual bits of SP the longer it's used. Also, if they fall into a gap, they jump get kicked back up and get minor damage. It'd be in a HP fashion rather than the classic percent damage. Also, the target ring would work like this: Ness is moving and holds B. He has PK Fire ready, but must target it at something. So a target ring appears which you can move around in a certain circular boundary, and when you release the button, Ness throws it little bolt and uses SP. For moves like Fire Fox, the target ring can also move up and down by means of Y and X.
