I think that it is the GCN because it has more popular gaming franchises, such as Mario, ect., involved. However, I think you are comparing apples to oranges to bananas. Some people have bizzare reasons for liking one thing over another, but overall, there really is no way, other than sales figures, to measure one console over another.

Between Playstation and GCN. Playstation, for some reason, I want to play it, but I don't like most of them. Mostly Spyro or Crash. Nintendo, do I need to explain...>> <<
Overall: Nintendo, some people only want to play violent stuff, I don't, heck a ton of companies got sued(Even Nintendo) because people went to school shooting and killing each other, that's just stupidd.

The best videogame console is... POLYSTATION IIIEee, I think that question is pretty interesting, since all of these consoles have superb games (oo... may Xbox has less a lil' than the others xD~), and since only the games which count, not the hardware itself... Personally, my favourite "brand", or "company" (or whatever) always was Nintendo, and that fact won't change in the future, I'm afraid. But I'll find myself in big trouble if I'll need to choose between Tombi! (PS1) or killer7 (GC)... or between Zone of the Enders, 2nd Runner (PS2) or タッチ!カービィ (DS :-), and there are a tonn of games beyond these which are in the "must have" category. (YEAH AND DONT FORGET ABOUT KULA WORLD) Well, that's a fact. GameCube has the best controller. Ever. x) (That will be clear for everybody who have the courage to try shooting Heaven Smiles in the PS2 version of killer7, and after that in the GC one. Seriously, the difference is just illuminating)

I'm DIRECTLY between GameCube, PlayStation, and handhelds. The XBox is my doormat. GameCube, now it has very neat games and its own super team of mascots. I still like playing my EarthBound and Super Mario RPG ROMs, for one. PlayStation...2, to be exact, now it has Final Fantasy and FF-related games (Kingdom Hearts) and Katamari Damacy. Need I explain why I luv GameBoy Advance and DS? Now XBox, it has a freakin' huge controller. Not satisfying my tastes.

Now XBox, it has a freakin' huge controller. Not satisfying my tastes. Thats exactly the reason they released the Controller S as standard with all new Xbox systems.. Its still better than the nightmare that is the PS2 controller though, its utterly uncomfortable to hold... I'd pick Nintendo here, but I'm probably more of a PC gamer than anything else... or would be if I had a PC that could handle any game made after UT2004. I want to play Quake 4 D:

I played Jak2 24hours at my friend's house and after i got done my hands couldnt form into a fist and i was like HOOOOOLEE CRAP!!! They got better after a few hours but still...then I played SSBM for 24hours and my hands were fine...I never played PS2 for over 3 hours after that. Dont even get me started on Xbox... I got the biggest cramp in my hand after playing it for 2-3 hours...

NGC. Nintendo's the only thing I'm good at, and I'm GOOD at it. XD. I love the Mario games, and I like the games that can come out for the GC. Also, it's colorful! >_> <_<

..If you want to talk purely hardware, the Xbox wins hands down. Not just the most muscle but things like built in online abilities and a harddisk make all the difference.
Games wise, they all have their advantages and disadvantages. I've always loved Nintendo games, but I wouldn't want to miss out on the likes of Metal Gear Solid 3 Ace Combat 4/5 or Halo 2 either. Overall, I'm neutral. The GCN has clocked up the most hours and the most games in my collection but I still have a great time on the other consoles. You need the best of all worlds and the only way to do that is cough up the cash for the lot. PS2 has the best racing, fighting games and I suppose RPG's (don't really play them anymore), Nintendo has the best 3D action/adventure games and the most unique titles. Xbox has the best first person shooters and the most flexible controller in the form of the S-controller.
The Nintendo pad is perfect for those 3D action/adventure games but its rather lacking in most other areas. The small and shoved to one side D-pad also makes GBA games less than brilliant. But it is the most comfortable and fits right into your hand like nothing else. That said, I have had wrist pains after extended play. The PS2 pad, I really don't especially like. So many people say its the best but for me it leads to sore thumbs generally. Games these days depend mostly on analog sticks and Sony just put their in the wrong place. After about an hour of intense play, stretching your thumb to reach the stick can become achey and generally the rubber coating will be slippy from even the slightest amount of sweat. Though touch sensitive buttons are a great feature though, especially if used right like in MGS2/3. The original Xbox controller, disaster. Just playing 5 minutes in the shop left me with sore thumbs and button imprints. Not only was the shape and size abysmal but those hard plastic buttons must have been scientifically tested for maximum discomfort. Xbox Controller S though, whole different story. Its more comfortable than the PS2 and more flexible than the GCN pad. Overall the best all rounder though like the Dreamcast before it, the analog triggers can cause discomfort after extended use.
