Um no....
just because he has a blue mage ability, doesn't mean he is one. the lance and jump attacks are clear signs of a dragoon. blue mages don't have those.

OK, Blue Mages are those that can use enemy skills. Kimahri qualifies. He uses Lancet on certain enemies, he learns an ability for his Overdrive list. One of those big horned things that uses Fire Breath, Kimahri uses Lancet, he learns Fire Breath. ...Maybe we should have a third opinion on what's a Dragoon and what's a Blue Mage, hmmm?

Dragoon = Mounted soldier trained to fight on foot.
Blue mage = Mage that uses blue magic: Winning its battles by outthinking their opponent. This means understanding how magic works. This is why the Blue Mage is the master of the counterspelling and unsummoning. Their mastery of the art of magic allows them the ability to stop spells in their tracks or even reverse them.

However how Kiimahri learnes it is not at all in the way an actual Blue Mage does. A true BLue Mage learns spells by having them used upon them -- they learn throuh experiencing ad monitoring. He just like sucks it out of them. TRIPLE BONUS MULTIPLIER ! ! So he'sreally only like, a pseudo-Blue Mage. He, nor any of the other characters without the actual title, are not the jobs of which they have the skills. They just share some attributes of them.

Good point, but what about Quina of FF9 and Quistis of FF8? Quina doesn't get struck by enemies, but rather eats them. And yet, s/he has a Blue Magic option. Same deal with Quistis. She learns abilities for her Limit Break, aptly named Blue Magic, by using certain items. Now people like Gun Mage Yuna/Rikku/Paine may fit your description, but there's more than one way to snare a foe's skills.
EDIT: OK, I checked Wikipedia, and OK, Kimahri could technically be considered a Dragoon. However, he and other spear-wielding fighters are referred as Lancers. Oh yeah...Turns out Quistis, Quina, and Kimahri ARE Blue Mages!

They merely can use a skill from the past job when it was still an actual JOB, and strictly just that. Quistis hardly counts because it's her sucky limit break she very rarely gets to use anyways. That's like saying Cloud, Squall, any of those characters are Black, White, Red Mages just because they can use the magic -- Square created characters who could use mutlitudes of skills to be versatile and stray from being the one-job-limited-skills sorts of things.

Actually, in FF7 and FF8, no one belonged to any specific class, except by Limit Breaks.

Yeah, that'swhat I'm saying. The same goes for Kimahri in Ten -- Lulu is ackowledged as a Black Mage, and Yuna a Summoner -- but Kimahri is just ackowledged as Mean-ass-kick-blue-thing-ow-kill-meat.

Welllll, Yuna's also acknowledged as a White Mage. So let's just leave it at Kimahri's a Lancer/Blue Mage combo and drop the subject, PLEEEEEZE. My jaw gets tired of this argument...

How about we all admit that the Final Fantasy class system is flawed and is not the be-all-end-all of ability distribution. It appears as if the traditional class assignments are now obsolete. Whether someone could be considered a "Dragoon" or "Blue Mage" or "Fighter" doesn't matter anymore.

OOC: I apologize, but the way that is, it shortens to SHIEDS instead of SHIELD. (Super High Infantry Electronic Defensive System) Maybe somethng like Super High Infantry Electronic Locktight Defense System? Sorry 'bout that...
RED PALADIN Like a Red Mage, but with many more skills. Can use physical power, Black Magic, White Magic, Blue Magic, and can steal things. Only available for expert players.

You know it is frowned upon to post a nitpick without adding anything useful yourself. Besides, "SHIELD unit ready" sounds better than "SHIELDS unit ready."
Red Guard: Uses bolt-action rifle and bayonet. Can use the hord effect. Insipires allies with propaganda.
