As much as it sucks, it's probably not going to change, unless we protest in front of NOA's headquarters or something. Which probably isn't going to happen, either, because most gamers are too lazy to get up. Myself included. XD In any case... WII ARE SCREWED!!!! Argh, I couldn't hold back making that comment...

The...Wii?
I can't imagine going to school and being asked...
"What game system do you have?" A friend answering, "Xbox 360, you?" "PS3, and you Teo?" "Uh... I've got a Wii" "What? It's called Whee? Thought it was Why." "And I thought it was Wei"
The name represents 'we' as in it's for everyone, but really, Wii...
Heck, they do whatever the heck they want... and just for enthusiasm, one more heck.

This won't sell, because shy nerdy gamer people will be too afraid to go to the store and ask them to grab a Wii for them.

Well, according to Howstuffworks.com...
"Super Cool Feature The Wii will be the master of backwards capability. Don't worry about pining for your old favorites -- you'll be able to play them with this system. Your old GameCube discs will still work. And, for even older consoles like the SNES, Nintendo is going to make the entire catalog available for download. "
SNES games... DOWNLOADABLE!! I'll finally be able to get access to those old goodies! Mario is missing, Legend of the Seven Stars, Super Mario RPG, and all those goodies that I missed!
If you want even more info, go to Howstuffworks.com and check out how the Wii works! This thing is awesome... apparently.

You do know that Mario's Missing is a historical game, where you play as Luigi. And LotSS is SMRPG, so in reality it's suppouse to be SMRPG: LotSS.

Not exactly a revelation in technology. Too bad this could (and has) been done years ago, and better than what Nintendo's little Wii (lollerskates) will offer, it's been free all along! Not smart on their behalf to try and counter the download of free and easilly accessible ROMs with equal-value ports that you have to pay for. It'll be no different than an emulator, you're still gonna use a gimpy controller to play it with -- except that you'll loose all the nifty little functions an emulator offers.
Wii backwards compatibility downloading < ROMs.

Not smart?
Look at our Xbox 360: one of the most popular things related to that machine is the Xbox Live Arcade, which is actually something like Wii's virtual console feature will be.
Folks will pay for those games - for the sixthousandth time, but they will.
Nintendo is smart. Maybe not fair, but smart.

Wii backwards compatibility downloading > ROMs. Let's not forget that it's more legal. Also the problem with TG-16 emulators is that they're buggy at times and giving them sound can be problematic. I want my Military Madness and I want it with unwarped sound and I want it without the appcompat.txt errors that pop up on my c.... my roommate's computer when sound is added.

I'm sure the Wii's TG16 emulation will be very well done considering the fact that it will be programmed by professionals at Nintendo and not by a few hobbyists in their spare time like most emulators.
Speaking of TG16 for PC, you should try Magic engine, it's the best emulator out there.
Also some more news about the Revo...
PC engine CDROM2 games will also be available on the Wii virtual console. There are also rumors of Neo-Geo CD, Saturn, and Sega CD games on virtual console.
Finally, SNK has announced that a Metal Slug anthology is coming to the Wii. It will have Metal Slug 1,2,3,4,5 and X with the possible inclusion of Metal Slug 6. This awesome collection is supposed to be able to use the Wii controller, but how exactly has not been revealed.

Good bad...good bad... but hey, it's probably optional. This feature could just give us an extra choice, not necessarily a have-to thing.
PC engine boo? Now I'd like to say that... could you be able to play Age of Empires? World of Warcraft? Stuff like that?

PC engine boo? Now I'd like to say that... could you be able to play Age of Empires? World of Warcraft? Stuff like that? Not exactly... The PC engine is the Japanese version of the TG16 that Lazo mentioned. It was available with a CD-ROM attachment. Read more about it here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PC_Engine/TurboGrafx_16It's one of my favorite systems, there were really good games for it.
