en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Banjo_ThreeieOkay, I know this looks like it would only be for the Xbox 360, but if you actually read all of the article, it sounds like it could be possible for the DS as well. In this article it says, "It should also be noted that Rare is working on a Banjo Kazooie title for the Nintendo DS. It is not known whether it will be the sequel or a spin-off or a Port of the N64 Version of Banjo kazooie . It may also be just a copy of Banjo-Threeie for the DS" But, where it's talking about Rare making two games for the DS, Diddy Kong Racing being one of them, it also says that the other one is rumored to be a port of Banjo Kazooie. So, what do you guys think? Is it going to be Banjo Threeie for DS, or will it just be a port of Banjo Kazooie? Or, do you think Banjo won't even be on the DS?

Knowing how the whole publishing deal goes anymore, it would be unlikely that the new version of Banjo-Threeie will be fully released to fulfill the dreams of the Nintendo DS owner. In a likely case the one they will release to the DS itself will likely be something along the lines of what Mario 64 for the DS became. It might indeed be nothing more but a straight to DS port of Banjo-Kazooie, the sprout and stem of it all. If such is so, then they will likely work on creating the older version for this handheld, as well as likely adding some treats here and there for the second as well. However, since right the rights to Rare have been bought, the only surviving hold that Nintendo has on this franchises name is something simple, more based on the lines of the first two games. Since Microsoft took Rare's Copyrights, it would likely posses that Banjo-Threeie itself will be nothing more but a 360 game. This does not mean in fact that it couldn't come for the DS; if the terms on both parties are good, then it will be something to grasp at in the coming years. Yet even now the names and ideas of a new release for such seems so very quiet, if only they would give out a few more details. For the past two years it seems that Rare has been working on two games in private, names they won't reveal.
As for now though it seems that one has been named, and it goes under the title of Viva Pinata. This is nothing more but another 360 game given out from the Rare name. The other one is still unknown, and this could likely be the scrubbed works of something similiar to what you are looking for. With all the commotion for a new Banjo fashioned game, it would likely be true that there are probaly strings being pulled in the windows of Nintendo. Since Banjo was such a famous title, they could likely do something to help out the new system. Who knows, it could infact be something linked to two Next-Gen systems. That being the 360 and the Wii as well, it seems that the company making the next Rayman is following that shape of an ideal. One can't remember, but it seems there was a release of a Banjo named game for the Gameboy Advance even after the rights of Rare were sold to Microsoft.
Usually it's odd for a company to continue supplying to another base even after it's been bought up. The game itself could have been a title that was in progress during the sale, and since Rare was bought up they still felt to deliever it to Nintendo itself. However, the whole details on the matter of what is what in the balance of Rare and it's fight for what ground it stands on is still off. They were great suppliers of the Nintendo 64 when they were around; working and beating on diffrent games to better themselves. Since they've been bought by Microsoft, they haven't seemed to really give anything new. Hopefully your dream of "Threeie" will better suit the Xbox and the Nintendo in beneficial ways. So far, the release of Perfect Dark Zero was more than just a shallow flop. All can only have faith that if they do continue the line of Banjo games, they will not shatter the name like they did of Perfect Dark. PD was a fairly well established game, but the sequel/prequel totally took the fame and tore it into alienated shreds. The only thing worth time for a play-through was the Multiplayer-Online functions.

Actually, there were two. Grunty's Revenge and Banjo Pilot. But, they weren't like the other Banjo games. Banjo Pilot was racing, and Grunty's Revenge seemed lacking in something. And, it made too many assumptions that you had played the other Banjo games.
I have also heard somewhere (I can't remember where >_<) that Microsoft is allowing Rare to make games for the DS because they don't have any handheld systems so they don't have any competition there. The place said that Microsoft would rather have Nintendo beat Sony in the handheld competiton, or something like that.
