Castlevania deserves to be soluted on the month of October, so let's get talking about the great series based loosley on Bram Stroker's legendary novel, "Dracula". If you disagree with that statement, I have plenty of evidence ready. The best two are the fact that Castlevania's Dracula is named Vlad Tepes, or Vlad the impaler, whom which Stroker based the book off of. In addition, both Castlevania: Bloodlines for Sega Genisis and upcoming Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin for the DS use the name Quincey Morris in both Jonny Morris and Johnathan Morris' backstory. Quincey Morris was one of the main characters of Bram Stroker's Dracula. Enough about that, though... what was your favorite induction in the series...? is it perhapps the original Vampire Killer for MSX? Or maybe You enjoyed Simon's Quest for the NES...? Perhapps you're such a castlevania geek that you imported Dracula X: Chi No Rondo for PC Engine [turbografix 16], or maybe you're hardcore for Symphony of the Night or one of the soma cruz games...?

Oh, Symphony of the Night paws down. I've played Castlevania games ever since 1, 2 and 3 on the NES, and though I really love Castlevania: IV for the SNES and Dawn of Sorrow, SOTN just holds so many great memories for me. That was way back when I'd never even seen a game of that sorts before. It was one game my mom and I both played, and I remember all of the obsession it sparked in one of my friends and I. We constantly got on Castlevania websites, looking up the stories behind all of the swords and the enemies, talking about the pawsomeness of the Crissagraem (sp) and how broken it was. We would always call each other, even at 10:30 at night when we found a new area, secret, or item. Heck, I've even let all of my friends that didn't own it play through it at my house, and they all loved it.

Definitely Symphony of the Night. That game is just so awesome in every way... And every time I play through, I find something new. The later handheld Castlevania games have slowly been leaning towads Symphony of the Night, which can only be called a good thing. I'm glad to see that the 2D action/adventure/exploration spirit still lives on strong through this series.

It's part of the reason why people call this unique genre of Platforming/exploration "MetroidVania" games. I think Konami would get optimum output from the series if they fluxuated between the MetroidVania style and the old action/platforming style they pulled off with CV3 and Dracula X: Chi no Rondo

There's no PoR on this list D: :3 Pretty sure it wasn't available outside Japan the day this poll was made =3; Though I somehow feel that was a known fact TRIPLE BONUS MULTIPLIER ! !; </dork> Anyway, I'd have to say Castlevania: Bloodlines for the Genesis. Sure, it didn't have the true Belmont clan-member, but it made for an interesting sidestory, and led up to Portrait of Ruin, which is awesome as well. Oh, and Eric Lecarde for the win =3.
