*pulls out his periods*
Hey everyone! I just recently found out that there's a new Wii Channel out called the "Everybody Votes Channel," which you can now get in the Wii Ware section of the Wii Shop Channel for free.
What is it, you ask? Well, apparently it's more or less a giant poll service, but it's still pretty cool anyhow.
When you first load it up, it asks you to confirm your region settings, which you will most likely need to set, considering the fact that I believe the settings are new to the latest system update. This will be a one-time setting, so you won't need to worry about it after your first time in the channel.
After this, you choose a Mii that will represent you within the channel, which is as easy as choosing from a nice list of all your Miis, just as it is in all other Nintendo games. You can register up to 6 different Miis on your machine as voters, but I only registered one myself.
Anyway, once you get into the main channel, you are able to choose from a bunch of different polls that each offer two options for you to choose. The question shows up at the top of the screen, and your Mii stands in the middle, waiting for you to drag him or her to the proper coloured area corresponding to the vote you wish to make. Once you've moved your Wii, you can choose to vote, confrm your choice and it gets sent off! After this you can also pick which answer you think will get the most votes by going through the same process. According to the channel, a few hours after a poll has closed, once the data have been tallied, you will get sent the results, and you can see if you were right or wrong in your predictions.
The channel also keeps track of numerous stats, including how many predictions you've made and how many of those predictions were correct. In addition, after you vote on enough polls, you will be able to see how often your responses vary from the general public.
Finally, there is also an option to let you submit new questions to Nintendo for potential use on the channel, so if you have something you're dying to know, you can submit it and see if it gets asked!
Well, that's it for now, but it honestly seems pretty fun. The presentation's slick, the music's pretty catchy, and it looks like another quality channel to go with the other releases that Nintendo has made recently. Go check it out if you can!
