Metroid Prime - Meta Ridley battle and Final Boss second phase Metroid Prime 2 - Chycka Larva and Emperor Ing 2 Sonic & Knuckles - All boss themes are awesome  Sonic 2 - Final boss Megaman 9 - Both boss themes are cool Gradius Gaiden - All boss themes, including boss rush themes Gradius V - All boss themes too ^^; Super Metroid - Mother Brain Yoshi's Island - Final boss There are many awesome boss tracks in platformers... I'm forgetting many. ^^; |

Yoshi's Island Baby Bowsers Castle is one of my favs.
Spore Creatre for DS: Gar' Skunther is pretty good...
Final Music from Happy Feet (Not really much of a boss...)

The Shadow of the Colossus song thing. The one that starts when you are successfully climbing a colossus? It just seems to bring light to the whole "brutally slaying a majestic creature because I can't seem to realize that there are plenty more fish in the sea (including fish that don't require you to risk your life killing mountains to be with them)" thing. Ah, I loved that game.

In Final Fantasy X, they have a theme for the battle with Jecht, the main character's father. I was surprised to hear THIS kind of theme for him. The song is Otherworld, and it was composed by the same person who did the rest of the music for this game, Nobuo Uematsu. (I believe that's how it's spelled.) Jecht's battle theme |

I'd have to say Giygas' first form theme from Earthbound: ~ Perhaps it's half the music, and half the setting, but there's something so ominous about it -- how it starts off so gentle, a simple 8-bit tune that only begins to show the importance of the situation -- suddenly it busts into a crazy metal version who's shifts in tempo only seem to showcase the danger of the situation, and how chaotic the final battle is -- right when the game goes form generally silly and nonsensical to really serious and hardcore~ < 3 |
