I think the BEST boss music I've ever heard goes to the Shroob Queen from Mario & Luigi 2. Nobody would expect how beautiful and epic that song is. Nobody...

Lol, I thought I was the only one that liked that song at all. And then... I liked the Castle boss music from Yoshi's Island (not the Fort one as much, though...). The final boss one, too. Has anyone played Sonic Adventure 2? When you fight (Knuckles or Rouge, depending on your side) in Meteor Herd it had a cool theme. Or maybe that's just me. XD And then the classic Bowser theme from Super Mario Bros. Hahaha. Short and to the point. |

The final battle theme from Final Fantasy IV always made the battle feel more epic in my opinion, so it has a permanent place in my heart as excellent boss music.
The music that plays during an FOE encounter on Etrian Odyssey is quite catchy as well, even if it's nothing spectacular.
My favourite boss theme, however, comes from Valkyrie Profile. No matter what ending you get, the music matches the boss encounter, and makes everything you've worked for seem worth it, after a massive final battle.

I think it's fine to bring back to life old topics if we can still discuss them.
I love the boss music for all the colossus in Shadow of the Colossus. The music at the begining of the battle is so slow and quiet, but once you jump on the monster this, epic is the only word that would fit in here, and catchey music starts playing real loud, and it gets so fun!

Original NES FFIII boss PWNS ANYTHING I HAVE EVER HEARD. I was so upset when they used a different one in the DS remake. You can also hear it in some boss battles in Chocobo Tales.
M&L:SS sounds pretty cool though. PiT was disappointing, music-wise.

Aside from the first phase of the final battle in EarthBound, I'll admit that Fatalize from Tales of Symphonia is pretty epic. The boss tracks against the Natural Killer Cyborg and the semi-final battle in MOTHER 3 are pretty awesome as well!
There's tons more, but I don't want to bother you with a long list. XD
