As I said before, I miss summer. I started to write this earlier, but too many interferences interrupted me. The lake I have a house at, strangly is called Springy Pond. But I love it, and I love swimming in it after dark- everyone is always outside then, by a fire or something, and I'd much rather swim than get eaten alive by mosquitos.
As a reference too, a splake is a cross between a lake and river trout, and they have them in huge amounts at Springy Pond.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The sun it leaps a little lower
My heart it beats a little slower
The water quivers as a splake
Breaks the surface of the lake
The reddish sky it glows so bright
Keeping off the dark of night
I see the first star in the sky
I make a wish that I could fly
An owl hoots a bullfrog sings
I notice these amazing things
It’s dark around me I don’t care
I’ll dive right in ‘cause I’m not scared
The water’s warm the night is cool
I curse the days of retched school
My heart is free and so I swim
The night is dark the light is dim
The moon is shining bright and true
Its shine helps me see what to do
Its shape reflects into my eyes
It speaks the truth and tells no lies
The wolves they use it just to guide them
Their tails they drag so close behind them
Their eyes reflect the same light too
And glimmer like the morning dew
They howl their cry of lonely sorrows
Endings that bring new tomorrows
The darkness in the water brings
The end of my sweet late night swim
As I climb out my clothes are dripping
The wet lake pebbles keep me slipping
I bid goodnight- it won’t be long
Until I go back in Springy Pond
