The manga is better almost all of the time. One case where I've read and watched it both was with the series "Akira". There were six books, all an average of 500 pages each (these were big books too, a lot bigger than the normal sized mangs books you'd see at a book store). The books were great, truely a masterpiece and a great storyline, but it wasn't the same for the movie. The Akira movie, although it was great, wasn't as good as the books. You just can't compress six huge books into a 2 hour movie and expect it to be equal in comparison. Nope.

Manga > Anime ten-fold. Anime tends to ruin the character by having a really crappy voice actor/actress. They also sometimes DRAG the episode out. A good example is Naruto. The book is fine, but the episodes tend to drag out way more than they're supposed to. I blame all the monologing they do. I'm not a heavy anime fan like i used to be, so I don't watch hardly any anime because of that. I'm also very picky with manga, but Love Hina, .Hack, and Naruto are good.

I'm not entirely sure...I enjoy both kinda equally for now, but I don't get much of a chance to read mangas.

Sadly, I only have one Manga Issue, so I don't really know what it feels like really. For now, until I get more Manga Issues, I'll just say Anime for now.

Manga totally pwns anime! The manga is better because they stay more intact then the anime. Take One Piece for example: great manga, horrible dubbed anime. One Piece was a victim of 4kids and was heavily americanized, they even skipped over 30 episodes and counting! The manga however was, except translated and some cencoring rather untouched. Naruto is okay to watch, it was edited very well (but I wonder what will happen when Sai comes along) but still, I prefer manga.

There was a study that suggested that females tend to like the Manga more than the Anime ^^, while Men tend to enjoy Anime much more.
I will partake in both Manga and Anime, but I prefer the Anime more.

it's nice to watch the anime, but it's a must to read the manga, for me anyway, because it's always a different ending.... like Card Captor Sakura, the ending sux for the anime, but it's sweet in the manga. But the anime has some neat added stuff, and I like to see the characters moving and stuff. Kodocha (Child's Toy) is another case where they have some neat stuf in their 102 episodes, but the end is cut off short, and in the manga they never go to NYC. The only Anime so far I like better than a manga would have to be Tsubasa Chronicles, that anime rox Double-scoop ice cream
