Yes, we all have our little shows we must watch, re-watch... and watch some more. And if you miss it, you spiral into a depression untill the re-run finally comes on? Yeah, I believe there is some show out there this epicly awesome.
As you all know, I usually don't stick with things long and can only obsess over one thing at a time. Last favorite was House MD, I loved the recent plot twist with 'The Game', despite all my favorites leaving except Thirteen.
Now it's Pushing Daisies; the most impossible to explain show. It's about a pie maker who can bring people back to life in order to solve crimes; but only once and for a minute, any longer and someone has to die because of some... 'grace moment' or something. There's the detective, Emerson Codd, whom I love, his sarcastic and witty comments make the show awesome. Chuck, the dead girl. who was brought back to life by Ned, the pie maker.
Now, you must know who they are, because the show never uses their real names for reasons beyond me. So I will refer to them as 'detective', 'dead girl', and 'pie maker' for your convinience.
Now, the irony of the show is... twisted. Very twisted.
The pie maker is in love with dead girl, but he can't touch her because if he does, she'll die. He brought her back to life. But they are in LOVE. They love eachother so badly, thy kiss through plastic wrap. Because they can't touch. It's sad.
Now, the pie maker killed the dead girl's dad by accident. This is because his mom died, and he brought her back to life. But there is this balance thing; so if one person dies, someone else has to as well. So the dead girl's dad died. Pie maker feels bad, but to make it worse, his mom kisses him on the forehead to cheer him up... only to die. So he is sent to an adoption center, away from dead girl. But she doesn't know about his power, so she just guessed her dad died because of fate...
Well, fate led the pie maker to her grave one day and, well, he brought her back to life. Turns out she was murdered on a cruise. But someone else had to die... so some guy did. He's important later.
Now, the detective made good use of pie maker's powers for years. The detective takes cold case files, lets the pie maker bring the victom back to life, ask how they died, then kill them agian. Bingo; cash!
That's basically the plot line so far. Well... 3 episodes worth. The rest is just expanding on some facts. Mmmm... irony.
But the only things that annoys me are...
1) Facial expressions. It's either there are none, or there is TOO MUCH. It's good for a laugh though.
2) It's too awesome.
It's good if you like some fantasy mixed in with horror and mystery. Good for if you like plot twists or creative murders.
