CHAPTER 1>>>The Kidnapping
Mario is sitting around in his house, wondering if Luigi made it back from his vacation. Suddenly, the ground shakes. Mario runs to Peach's Castle to protect her. When he gets there...
Peach: Mario!!
Mario: What the...Ansem, you fiend!!!
Ansem: Oh, get a grip, Mario. Bowser had his chance to kidnap Peach before, so now it's my turn. Come, Heartless!!
Some Shadows then emerged as Ansem vanished with Peach. Mario was able to bash all but one. By then, he lost his special moves by some force.
Mario: B-Back off, you Heartless! Um...I'll throw something at you!!
Mario then spots a metal capsule-style ball with star prints on it. He throws it at the Shadow and the ball sucks it in and returns to Mario.
Mario:
?: Good, you have captured that Heartless.
Then came in Eldstar the Star Spirit.
Eldstar: I sent you that Star Ball in case you needed it, and it seemed to work.
Mario: What's it do?
Eldstar: Star Balls work like Poké Balls, only they capture Heartless. Hopefully, you can have that Shadow you caught do good instead of dark. Here, have some more of these.
Eldstar gives Mario 50 Star Balls and goes away.
