Ok, I write... a lot. Here's a story I made about four days ago (I have more ready, if you post a reply):
Chapter 1: The Mysterious Book
“Honey, wake up.”
“No mom, I‘m still sleeping…”
“Don’t you know? You’re going to miss the Dragon Festival and the graduation!”
Malick immediately jumped out of bead and ran downstairs as fast as he could. His mom ran after him while he dashed out the door.
“Wait! You forgot your,”
Malick was already far away in the direction of the Dragon Festival.
“… breakfast.” his mom concluded.
Malick was a young eleven year old boy with blond hair. His hair was parted to the right and he always wore a bright red shirt and black pants. He was never upset, always happy and very intelligent. Just like his classmates, he wanted to train, raise and befriend his own dragon. Sadly, he was too young to receive one. Same with all his classmates. When a boy or girl reaches the age of twelve, he or she is given their own dragon.. The dragon is a valuable partner, friend, and ally. However, some dragons are evil because their masters are evil. Everyone in the city of Windmill, where Malick and his parents lived, and all over the world had competitions with each other. The people that graduate from school, who are the age to own a dragon, can leave the city to battle other cities and their dragons. It was an ongoing competition that the whole world was submerged in. For Malick, he didn’t want to battle, but have a friend.
“Dang… I’m late! The Festival already started!” Malick thought as he rounded a corner that lead to the Festival. He took as many shortcuts as he could until finally he reached the Dragon Festival. The Festival was a very important part of history. When a person graduates from school, he is awarded his own dragon. The Festival is held every year for those who graduate. Malick has attended every one of the Festivals on time except this one.
Malick looked around at the graduates and the enormous crowd. All of the graduates were lined up in a horizontal line with the principal facing them. Some of his buddies in the upper grade were in the line of graduates. He ran over to them and shook their hand. He commemorated them and the principal started to speak to them while Malick was standing next to them.
“Welcome! I see all of you graduated and passed the final test. Congrats, come with me and I will introduce you to your dragons.”
He pointed to a square-shaped building conveniently located right next to them. Malick waved to them and started to walk away. Before he knew it, a hand grabbed his shoulder and turned him around.
“Where do you think you’re going?” asked the principal.
“Uhh…” Malick muttered.
“Come with us! Don’t be shy! You’re one of the graduates!”
“Wait, you don’t understand! I haven’t-”
“I can’t believe you’re that shy! Come on we haven’t got all day!” the principal finished.
He dragged Malick on the ground by his arm while he was confused. The principal dragged him to the registration counter. The principal let go and Malick stood up.
“We missed this graduate,” the principal said frustrated.
He turned to Malick.
“And you, you shouldn’t be scared. Dragons are like people, except they can fight well. They’re not big and scary. Just relax, we’ll pick out the dragon that best suits you.” the principal concluded and smiled.
The man at the registration counter flipped through his book of graduates and asked, “You’re name is… Malick, right?”
Malick gulped and replied, “Yes…”
The man smiled and said, “Come this way. Your dragon awaits you.”
There was no expression on Malick’s face. He didn’t know how he felt; confused or happy. Whatever it was, it didn’t last long.
“Hold on… I DIDN’T graduate! Is this some kinda joke?!” Malick shouted angrily and confused.
The principal looked at the registration manager behind the counter. He calmly walked up to him and whispered in his ear, “He’s very scared.”
Malick overheard this and shouted, “I’m not lying!”
The man at the counter flipped through his book and frowned.
“It says here you graduated.” he said.
Malick fell back on the ground dazed. He felt sweat run down his head because his brain was overwhelmed from the day. He got up moments later and nodded. He wanted to make this as easy as possible. Was it a mistake that the book says he graduated?
“Sorry about that, I was scared. So… where’s my dragon?” Malick asked.
The principal turned to him and said, “Ah, right this way.”
He led them into a huge, black room. A light was shining on him and in his face so he couldn‘t see. The principal made him sit down and the light faded. The room lit up and a dragon was sitting right in front of him across the table from where he was sitting. The dragon was blue, had blond hair, had a brownish white stomach. He had blue eyes and wore a brown, leather vest. He also had angel wings. The dragon looked slightly annoyed, but in a cool manner. He was about twelve feet tall, could stand on two legs, very calm and had his eyes closed while crossing his arms. He was one cool dragon.
He looked at Malick, smirked and then asked, “This is it? This is my partner? Are you sure you got the right guy? How sad.”
Malick looked at him, frowned and asked, “Are you sure this is my dragon? He’s really mean…”
“Yes, this is your dragon, Malick. Ignore his personality. His name is Pilot. He is one of the wors- I mean best dragons around. Have fun.” the principal said.
He pushed both of them out of the room eagerly and shut the door. Pilot looked at the door and sighed.
“This is going to be a long life.”
Malick turned to him and said, “At least we have one thing in common… we both have blond hair.”
Pilot sighed and replied, “… You’re annoying.”
Malick frowned and said, “It’s going to be tough to train you…”
Pilot smirked, turned his head and looked into the deep blue sky.
“… and you’re mean.” Malick concluded.
Pilot looked down on Malick and said, “Let me say some things about you. You’re annoying,”
Malick frowned.
“You’re too kind,”
Malick grew sadder.
“And, you’re not funny in any possible way. I should have been picked by someone stronger. This was a mistake.” Pilot finished.
Then, Pilot walked down the street to a Root Beer Bar close to Malick. This showed that he had no respect for him whatsoever. Malick turned around in the opposite direction and headed home saddened. This had never happened in the history of dragon ownership.
When Malick arrived home, he stomped upstairs angry while his parents watched from the living room next to him and heard a slam from his door. They dashed upstairs to find that he was crying loudly. They reframed from opening his door and respected his privacy by not entering. Malick was laying in his bed which was right next to his window and gazed at the moon and stars filling the entire night sky.
“Why did they do this to me? They assigned me a dragon that I can’t control and he made a fool out of me! They did all of this on purpose! Why?!” Malick thought.
Just then, a pink and blue dragon flew up to his window and greeted him.
“Hey.” she said quietly.
The dragon flew down to the ground and landed next to a girl who was her owner.
“Hey Rin.” Malick said sadly.
The girl wore a blue dress and she had short, orange hair. Her dragon’s name was Tarin and she was one of the graduated students in the upper grade. She knew Malick, because he was his best friend.
“What’s the matter? Why are you so sad? You got a dragon today!” Rin exclaimed while smiling.
Malick frowned and replied, “A dragon who hates me.”
Tarin looked at her and Rin said, “Just forget about it. Do you want to come with me? I’m going to our favorite place with Zero. Well actually… he might come.”
Zero was also in the upper grades, but he was two years younger than his classmates. He was very intelligent, but he hid it. It seemed he was always sad and he never cracked a smile, but he was one of Malick’s best friends. He also received a dragon. He had grayish white hair always wore a white sweatshirt with white pants.
“His dragon’s name is Zenos. For a small kid, he trains him well.” Rin said and smiled.
Malick wiped his tears away and shouted, “I’ll be down in a second!”
He quickly got out of pajama’s and slipped on his normal red shirt and black pants. He dashed downstairs and ran out of the front door. His parents smiled because he was happy once again.
“Are you ready?” Rin asked.
“Yeah.” Malick replied.
Both of them hopped on Tarin’s back and she took off. They watched the full moon as they flew by all of the tall buildings. It was about nine o’clock in Windmill city.
When they landed, Tarin waited outside and both of them hopped off. Malick thanked Tarin and walked inside with Rin. Malick noticed a bunch of thugs wearing black suits beating up Pilot! They chained him up and put handcuffs on him.
Malick ran up to them and shouted, “What are you doing?! Stop this!”
One of the thugs pushed him to the ground and said, “Stay outta this! This dragon won’t pay for all of that Root Beer he drank! Now he’s gonna pay!”
“He’s my dragon!!!”
Everyone stopped beating up Pilot and one thug asked, “So he’s your dragon, eh? How’s about you pay for it!”
Malick looked at the hate in Pilot’s eyes as he looked at him. He sensed him say, “Stay out of this.”
Malick gave them all of his money and Pilot was set free. He smirked, crossed his arms and walked out of the Bar. Malick frowned and walked out. He followed Pilot for a couple seconds, but then a strange black dragon with blond hair jumped him! They both fell to the floor and each struggled. The dragon yelled, “So I see you’ve improved!”
“Why are you here?” Pilot asked.
The dragon flew up and landed a ways back. Then, he disappeared into the shadows of the night. Pilot ran to where he disappeared and shouted, “Dang it! He got away!”
Malick walked up to Pilot and asked, “Are you ok?”
Pilot turned around with even more hate in his eyes. You could see a burning desire to fight also.
“What do you know? You’re just as annoying as ever! Get away from me… I don’t need you.” Pilot said angrily.
Unexpectedly, Malick ran up to him, jumped up and punched him across the face. Pilot fell to his knees and felt his wound. Even more hatred was in his eyes and he tightened up his fist. Pilot jumped up quickly and grabbed Malick by the neck. Tarin, who just left the Bar with Rin, flew to the rescue and kicked Pilot in the stomach. Pilot fell backwards to the ground, defeated. Rin walked up to Malick and asked, “Are you ok, Malick?! He almost killed you!”
Malick looked at the ground and replied, “Yeah… I am.”
“What were you thinking kid?! Don’t you know who that is? That’s Pilot… the most despised, cruelest, and toughest dragon around!” Tarin explained.
“…He’s my dragon.” Malick said quietly.
Tarin and Rin both looked at each other in shock while Malick walked over to Pilot. He grabbed a small bucket of water next to a water fountain and poured it on his wounds. Pilot opened his eyes slowly and asked, “Why are you doing this?”
Malick smiled and said, “I once asked the same question to you… when I was alone. If you haven’t already noticed, I’m your partner. I must take care of you… no matter what.”
Pilot was enraged by this. Even more hatred than before was inside his eyes. He clenched his fist hard and he started shaking. He got up slowly and walked away. Malick tried to chase after him, but a familiar hand stopped him.
“Stop… just leave him alone.” Tarin said.
Malick turned hung his head low and sighed. Rin walked up and put her hand on him too.
“It was a mistake that they gave you Pilot. I’m… sorry.” she said quietly.
“It was a mistake that I even got a dragon in the first place.” Malick said sadly.
Rin and Tarin both stared at each other confused.
“You know that I was a grade lower than you. They gave me a dragon early out of confusion.”
Tarin looked at Rin and said, “I had a feeling he wasn’t ready yet.” Rin sighed and nodded.
“Let’s just get you home, Malick.” she said.
Malick’s eyes opened wide. He felt angry that she said this so he replied, “I’ll go alone… just like I will be always.”
Then, he stormed off towards his house. He had always been happy, never sad nor angry. This was a first for him. About half-way there, a man ran into him wearing a black hood and cape. His face was covered by the hood’s tip which was drooped over it. Both got up and the man brushed himself off. Then, he dashed off unaware that he dropped a book. Malick made a circle with his hands, placed them next to his mouth and shouted, “Hey! You forgot your…”
The man was in such a hurry, he ignored Malick’s words. Malick walked over and grabbed the book, noticing all of the strange markings on it and thought, “…Huh? What kind of book is this?”
The book had a black cover with red symbols on the it. There was a lock on it so he couldn’t open it. Malick sighed and returned to his walking. It was a long day for him. First, he found out he could have a dragon; second, his dragon ran away from him; third, his dragon almost killed him; and last, a mysterious man bumped into him and left a locked book without a key. Hopefully the next day he would be prepared for the upcoming trials.
