Alrighty, let's start this...
<Simple and Clean>
Lava Yosh is falling through the sea, but awakens right at the beach. In the water stands Cyan, one of his friends in Destiny Isles. He was about to walk over to him, but saw a giant wave coming.
Cyan turned around (with Squall-level eyeliner) and stuck his hand out to Lava, who tried to get there before the wave crashed down. Meh. The underwater current was too fast for Lava to counter it, and he got pushed away from Cyan.
He emerged out of the water sharply, and Domino, another one of his best friends, calls him from the shore. He runs over to there, and Domino giggles, then she notices a meteor shower, as does Lava. There's someone falling from the sky. Lava notices that it's...
HIMSELF!!!
Then he fell downwards as the beach somehow changed into sky, and he plummeted into the sea, and landed footfirst on the ground. He looked around, then took a step, and shards flew away to reveal a glowing platform, and on it appears to be...

"So much to do...So little time...Take your time. There's no need to rush. The door is still shut. You have untold power, but if you give it form, it will greatly enhance your style. Now, choose."
Then, 3 platforms appeared. One with a sword with an M on it, a magic rod with an L on it, and a shield with a heart on it. Lava wielded the sword and felt its immense strength, he touched the rod and felt the mystical energy, and he gripped the shield and felt the guardian's spirit. He chose the shield. But then, he had to give up something in exchange. He gave up the sword to have a well-balanced figure.
All of a sudden, the platform shattered, and Lava fell until he landed on a platform with Vivian's image.
"You have been given the power to fight. Use this power to protect yourself and others."
Black things emerged from the deep shadows. Lava eliminated them by whacking them with his shield. Then the shadows spread and he sank into one splotch.
He reappeared on a platform bearing 3 silhouettes, two of which were Koopatiri and Eclair. There was also a transparent door. He then saw a Prize Block. He assumed he had to hit it. Then appeared a barrel and a crate. He busted them, and the door was opaque.
He went in and wound up on a platform bearing Princess Daisy's image. Several of the black creatures appeared, and he beat 'em up. Then appeared a Save Album, and a path to another platform, this one has Anjil's image.
"The closer you are to the light, the bigger your shadow becomes. *Lava sees his shadow, which becomes a monstrous black thing* But don't be afraid, and don't forget..."
Lava was trapped on the platform, so he had to defeat this thing. The weak points were its hands, so Lava attacked those, until his shield disappeared and the monster surged into the shadows, sinking Lava into them.
"Don't be afraid...and don't forget..."

Lava slowly reawakened at the shore of Destiny Isles, and he got up, but was so exhausted, he laid back down, and he saw Domino looking down at him. And he jumped in surprise.
Lava: Gimme a break, Domino.
Domino: Lava, you lazy bum! I thought I'd find you snoozing down here.
Lava: No, this huge black...well, THING, it tried to absorb me, I couldn't breathe or--*Domino whaps him on the head* OW!
Domino: *giggle* You sure you weren't dreaming again?
Lava: It wasn't! Or was it...I dunno...What was that place? So bizarre...
Domino: Yeah, sure.
Lava: Say. Domino, where was your hometown? Y'know, where you grew up?
Domino: I told you before, I don't remember.
Lava: Nothing at all?
Domino: Nothing...
Lava: You ever wanna go back?
Domino: ...Well, I'm happy here. But y'know, I wouldn't mind going to see it.
Lava: I'd like to see it too. Along with any other worlds out there! I wanna see 'em all!
Domino: So what are we waiting for?
