Maybe a little tip, don't make an RP that needs a certain person in it. It makes people feel bad that they not important enough and you can't just force someone in your RP because it's they choice and they're busy too. Make an RP that everyone can join.

Yeah, I think it'd be good if everyone can follow along with the storyline. And maybe some things that'd make it good: >>Magic. Definately magic. >>A bit of fighting every which way. >>Super-optional: some comical mischief.

Mig in flight...
The advice really depends on what kind of story you are looking for, what kind of problems you want the players to face. Do you already have any ideas on what types of plot elements you are looking for?

I think that's what he's asking...
Anyways, I have no idea what to suggest! I'm supposed to be working on late work right now, but that's beside the point...
Maybe just the opposite of what you'd expect, a no-magic rp? Just throwing ideas around...grab an idea and shape it into something you want.

If you've got nothing, then... There is a lot of territory to cover. Some general ideas can include:
The players have a valuable object or person, which needs to be taken to a safe place or to its rightful owner or similar. They must go on a dangerous journey in which one or more factions (and chance) try to remove the thing in their care.
A person (interest group, nation, world, universe, multiverse) is in a bad situation that they can't survive without rescue. The rescue task falls to the players.
The players are placed in charge of a large operation (a trading company, religious group, a feudal house, an army, the CIA) and must, despite lack of experience, make it work.
They're starts, and can be built upon with many different themes.

Or maybe a thing almost like FFX or FF Tactics Advance: "The heroes vs. THE CHURCH" Really, I hated Yevon lots. He was an idiot who had a Death Sentence counter of 3.

Yes!! Add drama! Uh yeah, not that someone SHOULD die. Though it'd be dramatic.

Unless the Someone dying could be a motivation for the plot to get started...
could make a nice set piece I guess
