OOC: Welcome to Mixed worlds 2. For those who were in this last time, I've changed quite a few details, so remember that This one and the last one aren't really connected.
A general reminder, follow the rules. I will kick you out of this RP if you repeatedly break the rules. While I don't expect this to happen, I'm just letting everyone know on the off chance the issue arises. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------
It was a cool morning, Cory stood on the porch of his tree house like he did every morning; the forest around him still sleeping, the sky was still dim. He took a deep breath of the morning air and closed his eyes; everything was quiet and peacefull... a bell sounded inside the house, disrupting the silence. He sighed and calmly opened the door and headed back inside. On the shelf sat a plastic box, it's mechanical chatter was a familiar sound; a paper fed out of the box and the chatter stopped, Cory picked up the paper as he thought about how he could never figure out how the strange machine worked. He turned the paper over and read, he already knew who it was from.
*Mixed worlds Mission brief report* ---remember to destroy this page after it has been read---
Your vacation time is over, you have been assigned the following mission...
Cory chuckled at that line, he would rather have been on a mission than on vacation anyway.
As you may or may not know, a man known as Harold Sir is the head of a campaign who's goal is to enact a proper law enforcement system in the city of Rougeport. While it appears to be a tough task, he has gathered tremendous public support. Tomorrow he is making a speech in Rougeport square, we feel that he is at a high risk of being captured by one of the local gangs or crime syndicates. Your mission is to escort Harold Sir to a predetermined pickup location at the dock on the other side of town. To signal for the pickup, you will receive a calling device which will be activated on location. You will meet up with other Mixed worlds agents when you arrive. We wish you good luck, we are counting on the team to make sure that Harold Sir is able to complete his campaign.
Cory lowered the page from his face, revealing a bright smile. This was the sort of thing he'd been waiting for. He breathed a little fire on the page, destroying it as per instructions, grabbed his hat and rushed out the door. He spread his wings and glided to the ground, making a soft landing. He smiled and proceeded to walk down the dirt path out of the forest.

While I was typing up my report on thermohaline circulation, my mail arrived. The one piece of mail I received raid "Mixed Worlds Association" on it. "Hmm... another mission..." The letter read that I needed to protect a political official while he is on his way to a speech. "Time to go into action..." I left a note to Ishathod and Hugo saying that I had to do business downtown, and left for the city.
I entered the forest behind my house. This was the quickest way to the city from my house. I'd have to cross another field to get to the outskirts of town; I hope I don't get caught...

Kymek flew wildly through the air that morning in Rogueport. He had always loved screwing around and making trouble with fly-by magic attacks on his broomstick. Nobody ever caught him, there were no police in the town. Kymek had quickly made his way to popularity by causing all sorts of damage in the town with his traditional Magikoopa magic shape attacks, and an occasional shape bomb which he had created himself. He was a master on his broomstick, and street urchins often exaggerated that you never saw him, only a flash of red and a trio of magic shapes zooming towards the ground as the red robed Magikoopa shot over the town on the broom.
Oddly enough, whenever Kymek's broom was destroyed or shot down, a new one flew his way in a matter of minutes. Kymek never asked himself why or where there things things came from, he simply considered himself lucky, and went on with life. Kymek had been rather worried lately, however. He had heard word that someone was trying to set up a law enforcement system in the city of Rogues. And that would mean bad news for him.
"Myaamyaa... There must be some sort of meeting for this, I need to gather more information...Hi-Yah!" Kymek kicked the back of his broom and disappeared into the morning fog with blinding speed.

I lingered in the alleys behind Rougeport's west side, near a shady, dimwitted fellow who went by Darkly. He wouldn't notice if the sky fell, so I had no fear of being discovered as I read a piece of paper that had been slipped to me earlier. Champ jumped onto my shoulder and cried, <What's that? Show it to me! Come on, Yoshee!> "Okay, Champ." I laughed, holding it in front of his face so he could read. I was a slightly newer member to Mixed Worlds, but I was eager to please and get a better ranking. I didn't know the inner workings very well, but I would learn that with time, I hoped. I was used to being the new kid on the block, anyways.
"Mister Guy, huh?" I read. <His name is Harold Sir.> "Sure. Let's just be ready and act inconspicuous." I said. Champ hopped into a more comfortable position into my arms and I carried him off to the main square. Darkly just glanced at me, then stared off into space. Sometimes I wondered if he was all there...

Jay was doing his normal things, or as normal as it can get. He was running through the jungle, with the help of his Hover Shoes. He went in random patterns, running and jumping as fast as he could. He came up to a large hill and stopped. He looked at the horizon, and then looked at the hill. 'Today, I have to try...' He jumped and ran downhill, hoping to get more speed as he was half way downhill, he jumped and curled up, and as soon as he landed, he was spinning like crazy, going downhill at fast speeds. As soon as he reached the base of the mountain, a bump made him jump up. 'Now is my chance' He uncurled, but when he did, he slammed into a tree. He fell and clenched his fist. 'Not again...' Jay has been trying that for almost a week, everytime, something bad happens, like not enough speed, falls off a cliff, etc. He decided to go home and try again another day. He went inside and looked at his computer, a small pop-up came up saying something about new mail. He looked into his inbox and saw something about Mixed Worlds. Jay continued to read and was in shocked. He was finally going to have another adventure. It said about meeting someone named Sir Harold in Rougeport, then read something about destroying this message. He just clicked and deleted it. He jumped out of his house and ran.
((OOC: I forgot to mention that Jay can be a copycat when it comes to certain moves he never seen or done yet.))

Making no sound, a small pink ditto wanders the streets of rogueport. He had accidentaly transformed himself into a portal which led him here...he had seen someone do it and copied. Odd what he could do. For now, he will be known as DITTO!!
~~~~~
Alright! A whole new place! I was thinking to myself again, and I had seen a whole new place...although it could use a new coat of paint, and maybe a hot dog stand. While I'm here, I'm gonna play a joke! I gazed at people walking by. Some were short with pointy teeth and no arms, some were walking wind-up bombs, and some were just plain weird. Then I saw a very unique one I hadn't seen near me in the alleyway. It was a small creature with little claws...and it was sitting on what looked like one of the only pokemon for miles. I examined the little creature and decided it was cute, and took its form. I silently jumped on the dinosaur-like being and took a seat before it walked out of the alley...
It was quite a boring day in Yoshi city, a place far away from Roueport. Not much was going on. The dreaded continous monotony of every day was becoming irritating.
At least, that's how Leoshi felt about the events. He was walking from another rough day from his school. The same old, being accused about something he did not do. He sighed.
"It's been weeks, and still no leads." he thought. He opened up his bag and revealed an old book. "I remember the day I found this book. Who would have thought it was a magic spell book?"
But did he truley have a reason for it. Sure, we heard in a dream he had to use once before, but now it seemed rather useless.
He walked over to his mailbox and opened it. As he did, he flipped through the pages, until he came across one letter that struck his intrest.
"Hm?" he asked. Leoshi carefully opened the envelope and read the note.
"...Rougeport? I... was hoping I wouldn't have to go back there... but I must do it." he said.
Leoshi took the paper and threw it to the winds. As it flew, he opened up his book and read a quick spell:
"Shidome."
As he cast it, a glowing bubble appeared around him. Normally, this would be like a shield, but it had other pruposes. Leoshi thrusted his arms, as the bubble flew away from him and towards the paper. As it struck it, the paper vaporized.
"Now I must get to work." Leoshi said. He flipepd ot another page of the book and read again:
"Transport: Rougeport."
And just like that, he vanished, off to face a new adventure
Champ felt kinda fidgety in my arms. He seemed pretty excited. "Well, Champ, there's no need to get that excited." I grinned. This could be interesting, and Champ had been bored lately... I ate the paper, as it had said to be destroyed. I noticed Champ felt sort of odd in my arms-almost rubbery- but I dismissed it as my imagination after he felt fuzzy again. "This will be fun, won't it?"
Being the naughty ditto that I am, I decided to do something a 'tad' evil... which I rubbed my paws at the thought. This is apparently a girl dinosaur...what is it that will make most girls squeak and squeal? Worm? Snake? Snail? Slug? Something dirty? June bug? Oh the possibilities! I think I'll stick with mud, at least that can't be squashed. So on that note, I, the sneaky little ditto, turned myself into sticky, gooey (and slightly smelly) MUD! I soaked and dripped until I felt my far reaches oozing everywhere...meheheheh...naughty naughty...
Atticus smirked at the piece of paper that had made its' way to him, reading it for the fifth time, he was already near Rogueport, and immediatly cast it over his shoulder, arm whipping out the Reiterpallasch, and he twirled, giving a slash or two, then continued on his way, "Only 3 pieces...I've been out of practice for too long. It's about time they gave me a mission."
Glancing to the side at a Yoshi he noticed, he nodded curtly, and continued on his way, the idea of a protection mission didn't quite appeal to his bloodthirsty approach to many things, but he had to do what he had to do, "I honestly hope the operatives they selected this time aren't as slow as last time, I had to kill three of them myself for their flashy antics.", he was speaking to himself, something he did somewhat often, and continued about his way, other MWers would obviously notice him, he was a little bit of a celebrity, the Mage Masher, he had heard them call him on occasion, he chuckled at the very idea, "Indeed..."
"AAAGH! CHAMP!!!" I suddenly screamed as Champ melted into mud in my arms. Champ came around Darkly's alley. <What? Oh, yuck! What happened there?!> He saw me covered in mud.<Eww, looks like you got slimed real good...> "You think?" The mud actually felt kinda good on my arms now.... I figured, Ahh, what the heck? and rubbed it around my arm a little... then I brushed myself off. The mud seemed to be changing shape, I noticed...
Leoshi looked at the another one nearby, whom had nodded towards him. Leoshi nodded back, and looked at him.
"He must be an operative." Leoshi thought. His eyes narrowed. "Something feels wrong. I can just tell by looking at him. He has a rather dangerous personaility. I best not anger him."
Leoshi was on the outer rim of Rougeport. "...I don't know why, but something feels amiss here."
He could sense that something felt wrong. Like something was there that shouldn't be.
"I don't like this at all." he thought.
The dinosaur girl decided to wipe me off...maybe I should have stuck with a worm, those always work. Anyhow, now I was on the ground, might as well revert back...or play another trick. I turned into a mouse, not a drop of mud left, and scurried up the dinosaur, going everywhere I shouldn't be going...not that anywhere was a spot I should be going... and tickled everywhere that seemed sensitive. I was starting to have some fun. Let's just hope my tail doesn't become too...encumbrant.
"Ahh-haha!" I was incredibly ticklish... and this shape-shifting thing seemed to know that. I caught its mousey tail scurrying down a shirt sleeve eventually and held him by his tail, upside down in front of my nose. "You think you're pretty funny, huh?" Champ was too busy banging his fists on the ground laughing to help.
Steffan stood motionless on the top pillar of Sunhome considering his situation. The Commander-General had given him a message from Razia herself, which was an almost unheard of maneuver. He Silently scanned the vast city of Ravnica in front of him, thoughts turning to the Gruul and their recently increased rampages at the edges of the city, and how he made a name for himself beating back the savage hoards of the wicked.
A gust of wind shattered the stillness and Steffan immediately turned to find himself facing a Firemane Angel, a servant of Razia. Without a second thought he knelled in front of the being, lowering his head and placing his sunforger on the ground with an audible Thunk. He did not know how long he held that position, but he was beginning to think the Angel was not looking for him until it spoke with a compassionate voice that betrayed the creature's power.
"Steffan von Burtenbach. By order of the Angelic Echelon of Boros you are going to be transported to a city known as Rougeport on a different plane. You are to go to the chapel in Sunhome and meditate in the altar. When you awaken, you will be in a holy building in Rougeport."
Without another word the Angel took off and was gone. Steffan slowly stood up, taking his Sunforger in his right hand and quickly descended the stairs into the main segment of Sunhome. His comrades were commanded to leave him alone, as he was not bothered and the chapel was empty when he pushed open the large double-doors and strode onto lush, red carpet. Despite having seen it many times before, he was still impressed by the gold plating on every inch of the walls, and the crystals from The City Tree that made up the altar.
Although worried by the prospect of entering another plane, he slid into meditation as easily as he ever had. In his visions he saw a leader, one that needed to be protected from the hands of the guilty. Search for the man known as "Harold Sir." With a flash of white light he was awake again, sitting atop a crumbling table in a dilapidated building.
"What is the meaning of this?!" Steffan yelled and leaped onto the cracked floorboards, only to discover there was no one around. Panting, he stormed his way toward the exit of the building, eager to punish those who had let the holy site go to waste. "Righteousness cannot exist without the suffering of the guilty. Their influence must be paramount if they allow holy places to be desecrated. I will render judgment for Razia."
It was now sometime in the afternoon, Cory flew through the air, high above Rougeport. He had probably been flying for hours now, ever since he got out of the forest, and he was becoming more exhausted with every beat of his wings. "where to land..." he asked himself; he began to glide down, circling over the same area, eventually coming to rest on top of an old ruined building. He sat on the edge of the roof, panting heavily. After a few minutes, he had recovered and realized that he had to find the others. Looking off the roof onto the street below, it was clearly deserted, he was in the old part of Rougeport, the area long abandoned. Cory stood up and comically slipped off the roof when a shingle broke loose from under him. Landing in a pile of rubble wasn't how he had wanted to start out a mission, "no matter" he thought, "I need to find the others.
Uh-oh... I thought to myself, dangling from my rat of a tail. I decided to act comical and turned myself into a huge smiley face, teeth grinning, but being held by a giant upper lip isn't what I call comfort, but I held a smiling grin as a giant lip still...feeling totally ridiculous. I wish I knew more words...I feel as if I talk I'm going to say something ridiculous...if only I knew the magic language! The huge grin started sagging a bit.
Kymek took the thought of the rumor off his mind. After all, there was no proving it was true. "Myaaa... This bores me, I must entertain myself somehow..." Kymek recalled the loiterer Darkly who was always sitting silently in one of the back alleys of the town, out of boredom, Kymek decided to play a dirty, possibly painful trick on him. "Myaahaa, that trespasser will find a new place to sit, says I..." Kymek raised his wand, charging his Shape Bomb. The red end of his wand began to glow, and he tried to bring his arm down, but he could not, the glowing light on his wand continued to brighten as he struggled to maintain balance on his broomstick. And then, all at once, Kymek brought his arm down, and a flashing orb was released from the tip of the wand. The orb zoomed down to the alley where Darkly was and hit the ground right in the middle. It exploded more violently than Kymek had intended, from his viewpoint he saw the orb's explosion flush out the entire alley. Kymek winced at the huge explosion, wondering if he had gone overboard and perhaps, killed someone. He was floating over the blast area watching through his swirled glasses. Then he realized that he shouldn't stick around before anyone saw him floating there, he turned and zoomed back off on his broom without any real destination but away.
[OoC: Ho-kay… Going a little fast, aren’t you…?]
“… Mixed Worlds.” Uttering those two words with little enthusiasm, Hizeme lowered her jaw slightly. With a sharp intake of breath, she exhaled a bright red flame, immediately incinerating the paper. Hizeme nervously tapped her foot on the dry earth below her. Eyes now scanning the expansive wasteland before her, very few things caught her attention.
She, standing on a brief patch of dry earth, stood next to a hole in the ground: her meager home. All around her were sandy dunes and cacti. Clear skies gave her the warmth of the bright afternoon sun on her back. Ah, what a day…
Not really, considering she had wanted more relaxation time, but still.
“… Uhhn, where’s Rougeport?” she asked aloud to herself. Sighing, she sprung into action – now walking in front of her. Her eyes showed a dull look, one of concentration. Her eyes suddenly flashed as she came to step onto the sandy part of the wasteland.
Ah yes, everything’s to the west.
[OoC: … ~Reads the posts that came about after the original message had been finished.~ … You guys go too fast. I’m going to continue my in character post, now. You know, I have never played Paper Mario for more than an hour, so I really don’t know what Rougeport is like.]
About three hours later, Hizeme finally came to roaming the streets of Rougeport. The flame on her tail a bright orange, indicating annoyance, was in tune with her mood. These Mixed World missions always made her annoyed. They had been what had taken her from her home, after all… And what caused her to dread each day. These missions were sometimes hard. Well, at least the previous ONE she had been on.
“Okay, where am I supposed to go?” she asked (in a tired, wary, and annoyed tone, too) to the surrounding, empty street as if expecting an answer. … This area of Rougeport was clearly abandoned. Great, more walking to find an area with actual life in it.
A surge of energy and excitement suddenly filled Hizeme as a sort-of-distant explosion occurred. Able to hear the explosion clearly despite its distance away, a wild curiosity pushed Hizeme to trace the residual energy and sound of the explosion to its source. Not incredibly caring why or how the explosion occurred, Hizeme pressed onwards. She had always felt drawn to fire from her magic that had grown wild, or by fire caused by means not controlled by her. Explosions are good, too.
As she ran through the abandoned area with a renewed effort, not really taking too much note of the scenery, she was almost positive she had seen a flash of green scales as she passed a particular street. Not really bothering to find out what it was, she continued to run. She wasn’t going at full speed, not even close –for that was reserved for battles only-, she was still going faster than the walking she had been doing previously.
