The sun slowly rose over the island, making its way across the sky at its ever so slow pace. We all know it is not the sun that revolves around the Earth, and that when the sun just rises it's six in the morning, but on this little island, none of that mattered.
This is Yoshi's Island. The year is 800 AD, and the yoshies know little to nothing about civilization, craftsmanship, names, war, politics, book, and history. Instead, the yoshi's play all day, sleep, eat, and do whatever they please, but this is the end of that era. Their history starts now.
Teak, a young yellow yoshi, was well rested, and slowly got up with the sun. Brrrr!! It's cold!! I think it's time I warmed up a bit. I wanna try to see if I can warm up by running up the mountain! Yoshi's Island had many types of terrain, valley, hill, grassland, a small patch of desert, and a tall volcano in the center. The yoshi's didn't actually have names for these things, but for understanding's sake, we'll name them. Come on! Let's get a move on! Can't let laziness take over! Teak ran through the jungles, where the night creatures were going to sleep and the day creatures just starting their activities. Nothing could stop Teak, he ran right through the jungle, avoiding the trees in a playful manner, and made it to the base of the mountain. "(You don't scare me mountain!" Teak said, in his own natural tongue,as he started his way up the mountain. The mountain was no match for the yoshi, and Teak climbed the whole thing in a sprint, reaching the top and sitting down to catch his breath.
Behind him, was the rising sun, a true array of colors across the sky. "(Wow, the small circle is rising, bringing us so many colors. When it gets higher into the sky, it'll bring us warmth! Brrr! I'm still too cold!)" Teak was cold, he didn't enjoy the night and the mornings, but he lived with them. Do distract him from the cold, he gazed at the rising sun, and gazed at it for what we would count as an 'hour', but for him, time did not matter to him as long as he was pleased. Nothing mattered, he was free.

Bablon was found eating a fruit in the early morning, sitting in a tree. Who found him? a bird, who was rather angry with Bablon for sitting in his hard built nest. Bablon took no notice of the feisty bird but merely continued to watch the sun rise.

*YYyyaawwwnnn!* Smacking his lips, Grale opened his weary eyes and grumbled as his peaceful slumber was disturbed by a trail of ants venturing up his arm. He had fallen asleep last night in a small, secluded clearing, and had thought that the largeish mound of dirt would make a good pillow, but only now did he realise that it was actually someone's home. Sitting up, he brushed the dirt from his hair with one paw - the one without any adventurous insects - before checking his surroundings to see if anyone was around, sniffing the air as well in case he caught an unfamiliar scent. Having detected no intruders to his shelter, he moved to face the anthill, taking a small twig in his free paw and poking a little at it. Before long, another line of ants appeared, and soon he had a whole platoon of bugs on him...
...that was when Grale remembered that he was not fond of creepy-crawlies, and yelled out for help!

The sun rose on the island in the early morning. On the southwest "corner" of the island stood a young light blue Yoshi under a tree wincing in pain, not just physical, but emotional as well. Yinguredziek's hand was stabbed and in severe pain; his ego was in worse shape. The previous evening, he managed to use a leaf from a tree to wrap his bloddy palm to quell the bleeding a little; he still had the huge gash, and would likely still have it for days to come.
Yinguredziek was also very lonesome. No one wished to embrace him and his thinking; he was homeless and hungry; the latter was easily solved from a tree that beared grapes near him. He couldn't go back to Tantrurtate now; for if he did, he would be dead and forgotten. Without a clue of what to do with his life, he sat at the base of the grape-bearing tree, eating grapes, and waited for someone to find him.

"Where are we??" a man shouted to another. "I don't know!! We have lost sight of the sun and we cannot tell where we are!" the man responded. The first let out a grunt and turned moving below deck to check on his crew, who were rowing with great effort against the strong winds. "KEEP AT IT MEN!! Drummer, pick up the beat!" "I can't! I'm beating hard, and I'm tired of drumming! Let alone these folk and their oars!!" the drummer replied. The captain grunted again, fixing his horned helmet on his head. He ventured back on the main deck and saw the two other longships next to his, rowing just as strongly as his. "There must be land somewhere, or my name isn't Erik the Red!!"

Ghirendaxeth blinked at the rising sun, his eyes narrowing. He was really getting worried now; wouldn't most technology be activated at this point of day? He heard heavy breathing nearby rather suddenly. He whipped around, tail moving the leaves out of the way. He saw a light blue creature with a leaf around its hand. What kind of being was this? Was it sentient? Would it run? Only one way to find out. Ghirendaxeth stepped through the bushes, keeping very silent. He reached instinctively to his hip, but found there was nothing there. Must have slipped out when I crashed... he speculated. He would need the creature to speak before his antennae would recognize the language, if there even was one. He raised a two-fingered hand to the creature, signaling that he was no harm.

Teak, seeing the sun lift up in the sky was slowly warming up and regaining his energy. Come on big yellow circle thingy... give us the warmth! Teak was shivering, not with cold, but with anxiety. The sun peeked over the horizon, then it became red, soon slowly turning the sky into a soft morning blue. Teak was overjoyed at the sight of the sun slowly coming up, despite it was coming up slowly. The sun finally reached the point where the red was starting to lose its color, and soar into the skies.
It was finally day, and Teak liked that.
Teak ran down the hill at full speed, dodging trees in a various assortment of ways, passing through the desert area of yoshi's island. The desert area had many dunes, and though we don't know how the sand got there, it was plenty of fun to roll down, or as Teak had thought of, sliding down.
Excited about playing again, Teak took a leaf from a very large species of bush and made his way up the first dune he saw. Up there, he thought he saw something, but once he was there, it was gone. Wonder what that was? he thought to himself. No matter to him, he reached the summit, and after the summit came the plumet, the part Teak enjoyed most.
He readied himself, sitting on the leaf, holding onto the broken off stem and grinning to himself, he pushed off with a fire in his eyes, and adrenaline streaming through him. The sand was very slippery, and Teak was gaining speed, letting out a yell of amusement while sliding down, always going faster. "(Faster! Faster!! Yoohoo!!)" he let out. Soon though, his speed grew to that of which he started to worry, there was no stopping once you started. And what was that in front of Teak? Uh oh, a lump!!
Teak couldn't do a thing, he hit the thing full force, hurting the part of his feet that ran into the thing and was sent flying through the air. Worse, the impact had made his legs numb, and he couldn't flutter himself out! What could he do? The ground was coming...closer....closer......closer... and then... if we were watching this event, only his feet could be seen sticking out of the sand. Uh oh...

Yinguredziek was quickly becoming bored waiting for nothing. He didn't expect anyone to help him with his bleeding hand or his smashed ego. Without ambition to figure out what he was going to do with his life, he leaned up against the tree and started dozing off.
An hour later, he woke up to notice a strange-looking Yoshi, with antennae and two fingers on each hand, waving at him. "...Huh?" Yinguredziek was confused; Yoshies don't generally look deformed as this one did. Yinguredziek didn't communicate with this "being," as he thought that this "creature" was just his imagination. He slowly jumped to his feet and wandered off, no destination in mind.

Maybe it isn't sentient after all... Ghirendaxeth hung his head. I'll just have to make my own signal, He told himself. Now, where does one go about finding metal? Oh, I really should have payed more attention to the ship's chapter about survival... He took a climb up a tall object that had a rough outer coating and green areas. He saw an expanse of sand that reminded him of his home planet not too far away. He let himself slide back down what he was beginning to think of as his tower and headed in that direction. He knew where glass came from, and he would need that as well, however home-made it had to be. As he came out of the strange towered area, he quickly noticed two feet sticking out of the sand. He found it strange, and decided to investigate. Ghirendaxeth decided it was another one of the natives, but what a strange position it was in... He poked a shoe, and then tugged on it. Maybe this one could help him.

Belting through the trees in a blind panic, paws and tongue flailing to try and rid his scales of ants, Grale didn't notice the unspeakably beautiful sunrise, nor that he had emerged from the forest onto the sand dunes...nor the pair of feet sticking out of the sand. That is, he didn't notice them until he had already been tripped up and sent head over hindpaws, somersaulting over the sandbefore coming to a dazed and disoriented halt with his nose barely an inch away from a particularly spiny-looking cactus.
"Phew...that was close!" He said to himself when his head stopped spinning, glancing down at himself to make sure he was now free from infestation. He got up, shaking himself to dislodge the sand, and making a mental note to go for a swim later to get the rest of it out of his hair. He looked around and saw the pair of shoes sticking out of the sand - the ones that had tripped him.
"I hope nobody minds..." he said, scanning his surroundings suspiciously in case anyone might see him take the shoes for himself, Grale being barefoot. He waddled over to the shoes, reached down and tugged...but they didn't seem to budge!

(There's two people over me now?)
~~~
"(Woooaaah!!)" Teak shouted as he was being pulled out from the ground. Who would pull him out? All he saw was sand. No wait, he was facing the wrong way. Behind him was a regular yoshi, and a really creepy looking one that made Teak go "(Yikes!)" He looked at the two, at one then at the other, and slowly but shyly, "(oh... h-hi... thanks!)"
Ghirendaxeth was startled by the native's reaction for a second, then burst out in laughter. He couldn't help it; the situation was so impossible. Here he was, supposed to be on a mission and crash-landed on an alien planet with supposedly no intelligent life. He goes unnoticed by two of the natives, and then the one he does communicate with cries out like he's the normal one around here. His antennae would need more input on the local language, but for now he could make a slight introduction. He held up his hands, trying to look more harmless. He felt harmless without his trusty weapon at his side. Ghirendaxeth then pointed at himself, saying his name slowly. "Ghirendaxeth," He repeated, hoping the local would catch on. He was beginning to think he was mistaken on the non-sentient part about this species...
It looks like the weird one is trying to talk... but all I hear is a bunch of mumble jumble. He can't talk, the poor thing. Ah well, I guess we're not all that lucky. "(Don't worry buddy, at least I'm pretty sure you can hear me... can't you?) Teak said, motioning towards the odd one.
[changing it slightly so as not to confuse]
Grale blinked as he approached the feet...and stopped in his tracks as he saw them become a Yoshi! And next to that...well, at least it looked like a Yoshi. But a little strange. He shyly raised a paw in greeting as he waddled over to the pair.
"Uhh, hi...I'm Grale, nice to meet you!"
(Lo Senito, band called.... CURSE YOU GOVERMENT FUNDED MUSIC EDUCATION THAT I PARTICPATE IN AND ENJOY!!!!) (Yeah....i'm crazy.)
Bablon jumped down from his tree and went in the direction of the ocean. Upon arriving at the green sea, he started to draw with his stick the bird he had enraged. As he just figured out what he was doing wrong with the wing tips, he accidently smashed a sea snail. He noticed the purple, and stopped in suprise.
Hmmm.... he thought. Perhaps if i put the blood onto my stick..i could draw in....Purpley? Hmmm..... but....
Bablon got another pointy stick and tryed out his new idea. Delighted to find out it worked, he proceed to gather as many sea snails as he could into a small pit he dug in the sand.
There! thought he, as he buried the snails. I wonder how i can draw in red, and the sky color, and the color of the trees and leaves...... He looked around, quite lost in finding the answer to his dilemma.
