Malthos the Magikoopa walked the beach, clutching his broomstick in his right arm, he was panicked, kicking the sand wildly as if trying to uncover something.
”Where did I drop it?! Where? WHERE?! TOADIIEEES! Find the artifact! None of you will receive your rations if it isn’t found within an hour from now!” Malthos slammed the tip of his broom down, sticking it into the sand to keep it upright. Only seconds later, legions of black robed toadies putted through the air and hovered over the beach, working feverishly to find this “artifact” Malthos commanded them to find.
Something glinted in the Magikoopa’s right spectacle that made him do a double take, and there it was. Malthos was instantly relieved at the sight of the purple stone protruding from the ground, he dashed at it, nabbed it with both hands and stuffed it in the pocket of his red robe. “I’ve got it you idiots, go back to your stations.” The toadies just stared at him for a moment with blank expressions, and flew back from where they came.
Malthos enjoyed talking to himself. He found it to be a trait of someone who is truly evil, which he strived to be, very much so. He gazed out off the beach, frowning at the shocking sight of a palm trees that were sprouting and maturing in the shallow water. “That’s…not a good sign. The land bridge is finally revealing itself again, and that means the primitive natives of this island will meet their sister island unless I do something about it… The way I see it, I have a week, which is more than ample time. Who’s going to stop me?” He felt around for the purple artifact in his robe, confirming that it hadn’t fallen out again.
Malthos looked out across the vast ocean, then grinned. “Yes…who’s going to stop me, indeed?” He glanced around, making sure no one was there, thankfully there wasn’t, but another thing caught his eye. It was a hut. He was close to one of the island’s Yoshi villages. He thought for a moment, wondering if it would be too dangerous to be spotted by a native, but then dismissed his paranoia. He mounted his broom, and hovered over to the center of the village, turning his head right and left, scanning the area, very warily.

Ah... my wings are SORE! But I did a good job today, I deserve a good rest... and then I can go out or something. Trombador's his name, he's a Red Paratroopa, and he had just finished his shift in delivering mail. He had delivered mail all morning and frankly, was getting sick of it, but now it was time to rest, and after it would be time to go out and have some fun! From the sky, he spotted his house and flew down towards it, diving through a window and propping myself onto a chair. It was just a hut, and the couch was made of wood, doubling up as a bed. If he had really wanted a proper couch and bed, he could do it, but what was the use? This paratroopa would rather have money and the option to spend it than having something everyone else has. He hastily took of my shoes, closed his eyes, and slept on the chair, shell on and everything.

Henrikoshen walked about the village with a melon in his hand, staring at a slightly cloudy sky. "It should be calm for today at least." The light blue Yoshi was enchanted by the weather. In his brief life of about seventeen years, he observed the climate of this island obsessively, identifying four stages of a climatic pattern of the island. These "seasons" were a period of very calm weather, a period of very rainy weather, another long period of calm weather, and a shorter period of very stormy weather. This day was a day in the longer period of calmness, just before the season where very stormy weather was expected.
Henrikoshen quickly ate the melon as he was approaching his hut. He didn't enter the hut, as he was too mesmerized by the clouds to stop staring at the sky. Instead, he sat at the base of the hut near the doorway. Suddenly, a flying figure entered the sky, catching Henrikoshen's attention. He knew that it was not a bird; this figure did not fly like a bird flew. Curious as to what this was, he threw a rock in the direction of the figure, missing it only by about six inches.

I was just minding my own buisness that day, trying not to be a bother to anyone. I had some fruit to deliver, so I thought I had might as well get it done when I wasn't doing anything else. The high stack of melons I carried amounted to seven. Since the stack was so high, it blotted out my view of the sky above me and was veering forward, then back, then forward again as I stumbled down the street. My cheeks turned somewhat red as I imagined what a stupid sight I must be to a bystander. I was so engrossed in balancing the ridiculously high stack and imagining what an idiot I looked like that I didn't see the falling rock from the sky. It hit me square in the back of the head, upset my balance, and sent me tumbling backwards to the ground with a loud clatter. The fruit cans all fell right after me, hitting me in the stomach and bouncing into the street. I was dazed for a moment, then realized I had been assaulted. I jumped to my feet and hollered at a light blue Yoshi down the road- the only one who could have thrown the rock. "Hey, what's the big idea!?" I picked up the rock and got ready to give him a black eye right back. In my rage I didn't think to look up at what he was staring at.

Lighty the Lakitu was happily flying around in his cloud when he noticed a bird that had flown higher. He soared up, wagging his finger happily. "No no," he stated with glee, "I'm the highest flyer there is!" Snapped his fingers. Nothing happened. Lighty frowned. He snapped his fingers again. Nothing happened. He grrrred and gathered his energy. He released it with a wave of his hand and a burst of lighting and thunder sprung from his finger tips and fried the poor birdy to microscopic bits of dust. Lighty sighed and panted for awhile. Then he dropped altitude. "I'm thirst," he said happily.. in a tired sort of way. He paused to laugh at a Yoshi who was hit in the back of the head by a falling stone. "Look where you are going fooly!" laughed Lighty, wagging his finger in a giddy sort of way.

Flipping the page of his book, a bright yellow paratroopa sits on the side of the path near his hut, enjoying the day simply reading and having a good dose of fresh air. He re-read a passage, glasses glitting a tad from the sun as he moves down the page, slipping his index finger along the page to follow the lines one by one. What seemed to be a peaceful reading day was interrupted by a loud clatter of what appeared to be fruit cans, one rolling near him.
He gazed curiously over his book, pushing his glasses up a bit closer to his eyes with his finger. First he looks down at the can laying on the ground near him, then slowly lifting his head to see an angry yoshi hollering to another, and a lakitu laughing at the scene altogether. Eyeing the can again, knowing full well that he should at the very least help the yoshi pick her things up again, he simply rolls it back towards her before promptly hiding his face back behind his book.
He begins reading again, although he cannot help but to think of that scene, his face very slightly turning reddish. He wasn't anti-social, although, his shyness kept him at bay most of the time, and he knew that fact very well himself.

Henrikoshen heard a clashing against the ground soon after he threw the rock. He never paid attention to where the rock had landed, only on his missing of the foreign figure in the sky. Suddenly, he heard a gril screaming at him; this shifted his attention from the sky to the screaming green Yoshi on the ground. She looked as if she was going to throw the rock back at him.
Henrikoshen backed away to his hut. "Sorry. I didn't mean to hit you. I meant to hit... something else." He quickly entered his hut as a primitive defensive measure, grabbing a dagger-like stick that he had been keeping for years. His father told him to use it in case an emergency arose. It seemed as if this will be Henrikoshen's defensive mechanism if the Yoshi girl wanted to strike him.

I growled at the light blue Yoshi as he reappeared with a dagger. "You wanted to hit something else!? So you were throwing the rock intending to hit something. Did you ever stop to think you would be hitting me!?" I was making myself hoarse shouting. Time to stop yelling about it and take action. I drew back my arm and hurled it as hard as I could back at the Yoshi. I could feel a bruise starting to form where I had been hit, and that only made me more upset. I hardly noticed the can rolling back towards me from the side of the street, only glancing down at it to make sure I didn't trip over it. I'll teach him to mess with me, I thought angrily, watching to make sure I had hit him.

(Sorry for the short absence, guys.)
Malthos appeared as blur of red that came between Yoshee and Henrikoshen, intercepting the rock Yoshee had launched in midair. He appeared again, with the rock hovering above the jewel of his magic rod, and then, he dropped it.
"Stop it you idiots! I have something...important to ask you all. If you can help me find certain information, you will be duly...rewarded."
Malthos hovered lower, until he was but a few feet above the ground. He was facing Yoshee, staring her directly in the eye, although unnoticable because of his tinted spectacles.
"Do YOU?...Young lady, know of the legends this island is shrouded in? Have the elders told you of it yet? Same for all of you! Have you heard them?! The tales that tell of your sister island? If you haven't, you must hear them, and hear them now!"

(Sorry for the short absence, guys.)" ((No prob.)) Lighty zoomed towards the Magikoopa and said, quite loudly, "HI STUPID!" He poked the Magikoopa's wand. "Cool!" he said happily. after a short moment he said, "what is it?"

Henrikoshen was thankful that the magikoopa - the apparent figure that he saw and originally intended to hit - caught the speeding rock before it hit him; likely, it would have nailed him square in the face had the magikoppa not arrived. He laid down his "dagger" after the potential brawl was interrupted, slightly gentler than throwing it at the ground with full frustration.
Henrikoshen calmed himself down as he listened to the magikoopa. He responded briefly. "Yeah, I've heard of that. Don't know much about it, though."

Malthos looked blankly at Henrikoshen for a moment, and sighed a deep sigh of relief.
"I advise that you all learn of these legends yourselves! It is imperative that you do! Where is your village elder?! He will tell all if you ask! I trust that the lot of you aren't doing anything important, right? You must know of these things, and in great detail!"
Malthos waved his magic rod towards the largest, most extravagant hut in the village. "Could that be it, there? I beleive it is! Go on now, all of you! I'll be waiting outside for you, there are many great things I can do for you all once you've been informed."
Malthos smiled at them, making hand gestures toward the elder's hut. All part of the plan.

"Gack!" The yellow paratroopa falls back off his chair, startled by the slightly hyper lakitu coming at him all of a sudden. He blinked a few times, wide-eyed still, as he got up, picking his book off the ground. Knowing full well he should come up with a reply, he pushes his glasses back nicely on his beakish nose, although when he finally got the courage to speak up, the lakitu was already interested in something else.
"Tales of a sister island? A legend?" the yellow paratroopa thought to himself. "What is he talking about, and more importantly, when did he get here?" He blinks, looking over the top of his book, having been caught up in his book to notice any new arrivals until now. He'd have continued, have it not been for that talk about tales and legends that reached his ear. Being the reading sort, that topic always piqued his interest.
He looks up to them as if to say something from the side, although refrained from doing so at the last moment. He wants to speak out, but simply lacks the words to do so, which made him simply look back down at his book, slightly disappointed. That didn't last long, for the Magikoopa promptly stated that information about it was in the Elder's paws. Having never really wanted to be a bother, the paratroopa simply never went to see the Elder, hence did not know this until now. He was hesitant, although, his interest was great.
Looking from left to right and back shyly, he slowly went towards the hut, "It.. won't hurt to ask.. right?"

Henrikoshen rolled his eyes as the Magikoopa demanded that he, as well as others, visit the large hut in the center of the village. Henrikoshen really had no desire to enter the hut and listen to the elder lecture him about some far off island where members of his kind also live; he would have much rather been relaxing at home. Assuming the fact that the Magikoopa was already there, he figured that attempting to bother it with the rock would do much good, as the Magikoopa already had a plan up his sleeve. From observation, Enrique had the perception of Magikoopas as malicious creatures who have nothing better to do but to bother everyone.
Nonetheless, Enrique started to approach the elder's hut with hesitation; his only ambition was to make the Magikoopa leave him alone, as it soon seemed that it would throw a curve in Henrikoshen's otherwise peaceful life. "Whatever you say..."

Malthos sensed the tone in Henrikoshen's voice, and very well noticed the eye rolling and disrespect being paid to him, but he would deal with it. Once the light blue yoshi had his back turned, he began to further think his plan through, his plan to deal with Henrikoshen in particular. He was too smart, and the smart took charge, and action. This, Malthos very well knew.
Hmph, I am hardly even a mortal. I can get this kid to do anything I wanted to...When the time comes, but for now, I need his partial trust, and if not his trust, then at the very least his cooperation. Heh, heh, heh, I cannot wait to have my way with this world. He thought these things, but with an expression so plain that none could have perceived it. He simply waited. He waited for everyone to hear the legend.

Lighty, bored, directed his cloud towards the Hut, in search of entertainment. Being the hyper age he was, he thought of Malthos as a guy who could do cool things, (like stopping that rock like that, for instance), but didn't want to share. He was bossy too. Lighty could tell. So he put on his biggest frown has he entered the tent. "Anyone home?" he asked in his most bored voice.

Hmph, stories. I have work to do, I thought, but then stopped. Legends... They rang a bell. Since the prospect of an excuse to get out of doing work shone out at the moment, I turned around to grin at the Magikoopa. They were always fun, anyways. So I changed my mind. "Alright, I'll head over there as soon as I finish this. The poor guy's probably starving now, and I can't leave the cans laying there," I explained, hurriedly gathering up the cans. I gestured to the yellow-shelled Paratroopa walking by. "Hey, yellow. Can you give me a claw here, please?" I aimed my eyes and tilted my head, motioning towards the top of the stack as well as I could without losing my balance, as I already held three of the cans in my arms.

"Y-Yellow?" wondered the paratroopa, before thinking to himself. "Oh dear.. oh dear.. that's a silly reply, I umm.." He tilts his head, scratching it a bit shyly, before finally helping the green yoshi with her cans. He wasn't exactly sure if it was the best thing to do at this point, the lingering feeling that he had to choose one thing to do when two things required his attention. I guess.. helping her will make things faster to hear the tale.. maybe? I think. Yeah, but then again..
Placing the last can on the yoshi's stack, he stands there, looking at her, well, attempting to because of all those cans in the way. Feeling rather silly and out of place standing there, he promptly moves to the side, almost tripping over himself in his haste to get out of her way and let her work. "Is-Is that all, Ma'am?" He wanted to go hear about the tale as soon as he could, but leaving her like that without asking would have been rude.
