'Eh The PS2 does malfunction a lot, but I do recall my old NES breaking a lot, then again I think I sat on it, I mean standing up wise and busted it. I was four. My old Atari also broke, I more less killed my past XD. I guess I'm the only lucky one with a PS2 thats never broken, do you want it XD? Either its the fact that I play it like three times a year, or its the fact that I didn't lay it on its side, because they actually warned you not to after awhile. I laid it flat, understand the laws of gravity make things go boom when they lay on their sides. The PS2 does have its small small small SMALL good sides, I mean a long time ago I could list off all the reasons I wanted one, but now I can't list that many, besides DVD's and the Eye Toy, oh and DDR. So the PS2 had its day, and will be gone just like all the other systems that had their days to live on in our memories.

My... PS2 has never been broken. Probably because I don't try to mod it or drop it down the stairs. It's always been horizontal, never saw a reason to put it vertical.
Got a PS2 for mostly Armored Core 2. Now I also have Armored Core 3. Two months from now there's gonna be Armored Core: Last Raven. Also can't forget Metal Gear Solid 3. High quality games, strictly for the PS2. Brother has a bunch of stuff and plays it a lot as well.
