Hello everyone! On behalf of all the admin and moderators of these forums, I welcome you to the very first official Yoshi Corner Secret Santa Exchange 2005!

This board I am writing to you in has been created for one purpose, and one purpose only - to host all the drawings/stories/gift exchange related to the Secret Santa that was organised at the end of November. Please be sure to read the rules for this board thoroughly and more than once!

Rules for this Forum
- Do NOT post anything here until the 25th December!
This is the most important rule! Read it at least nine times!
The only posts permitted here before that date are in reply to this thread. Please do not create new topics here until December 25th.
-Only post picture/story/gift topics!
In other words, do not use this area as a general chatting ground for xmas related things! This forum is for Secret Santa exchanges ONLY. Create topics which pertain to your gift, not to your opinion on xmas shopping or how excited you are about xmas, etc.
-Don't create poll topics!
Simply for the fact that this is a gift exchange, not a competition. We are not the Tate Gallery, nor do we wish to use a rating system to belittle other artists posting.
-Do not be a Scrooge!
In a literal sense...do not post highly-detailed and complex critiques of one's work! Again I must stress that this is a gift exchange, and that we are not participating in this to be judged for our drawing abilities (and if you are, you're in for the wrong reasons!) Please think of the xmas spirit, even if you don't feel like it. A short comment about what you like about the drawing/story/gift can bring a smile to the person who made it it. Be kind, and be considerate this year!
-Give everyone a fair chance!
This is in relation to those who feel they don't get enough comments and that they think more 'popular' artists overshadow them - comments aren't everything. But if you see a topic with very scarce comments, take a moment to reply and add your say to their gift. Its a small price to pay for a second of your time and a ultimately happier person this xmas.
-One target - ONE TOPIC!
Please refrain from posting multiple topics in this area - once you post your gift, keep it there! If you have another thing to add, either edit your post or add another comment to your topic! Nothing is more annoying than swimming through multiple topics which could easily be kept to one.
-Keep the topic names clear and understandable!
Although not completely necessary, it is advisable to keep the topics created with clear titles. It would be great if you could keep them to 'Gift for [insertnamehere]' to avoid confusion, but of course I don't want to make the rules too strict here...just remember to mark them appropriately and clearly! (Please refrain from using uneccesary caps-lock or symbols/exclamation marks!)
-...and most importantly, HAVE FUN!
This is a given. Our art exchange is not meant to provide pressure, or a difficult task for you - it is a fun way of making something special for those who are around us. Who knows, maybe new friendships will forge as a result of you 'gifting' for your target...
It is not a competition, it is not a race, it is an exchange for those who make this forum what it is - the dedicated members and talented artists, fanfictionists, and other abilities which people possess here are what help attract and grow our community. We certainly couldn't have gotten this far without you all!

-The deadlines for posting your Secret Santa gifts here are 12th January!
This is for those who may be celebrating the holidays elsewhere at the time of the exchange - you shall have up until the date above to post your gift topics.
-As well, this entire forum section shall be preserved as 'Read Only' at the end of January!
Be sure you have commented all you wish to comment on by this time, as we will then move this Secret Santa exchange forum to the 'Read Only' section.
No more comments will be able to submit after this action is done, so please remember to post all you wish to post by that date!
-A note about Timezones...
Since a lot of our members are in locations all over the world, some may be hours ahead, or hours behind. If you see a picture posted earlier than yours, don't fret! This may be due to the time difference of other countries. Remember to think before you post, and don't automatically jump on the 'omg u didnt wiat for teh 25thh!!11' bandwagon!
