This is probaly one of those easy questions that comes across every now and then in past discussions you may have found. Of course though, the answer can change merely depending on how your experiences with that day go the year before. Since we seem to be the very opinionated and changing types for what we are within humanity, this could perhaps be diffrent nearly every time around. However, usually in some shape or form everyone in some way has a liking toward a certain time of the year. It could be your Birthday or maybe something special to the whole country or culture, such as Christmas or New Years. Either way you look at it, throughout time there might be a date you wish would appear closer. Usually at the sorts, this does appear to be Christmas; merely due to that greedy want of our presents and a break away from the hardships of school. At younger days, passings such as Halloween steal our little hearts and make us feel better throughout what comes and goes. Getting those little sweets in our bags causes us to grin, it's merely an example of an early Winter Present. Thanksgiving in it's own way could be for the more "family" positioned person who seems to find themselves focusing more on spending time with those around them. Also for the types who like to mange on all the food they can get their hands upon. Other types, such as New Years and of the sorts can easily be decided for age factors as well. When we are young, those days pass by quickly, merely because staying home and watching the "ball" drop is an average taking. Yet, as you start to grow you might find yourself coming upon parties and events, and having an ability to "drink" whether or not you choose to. Either way, these type of additions could totally change your perception of what you used to believe and adore. Some of us might even have that selfish feeling of, "Well if it gets you away from school, then it's always worth it"; which we all know we do, it's something that just comes and goes. These days allow us to have some personal freedom from our take on life. Most of anyone will usually get these days off, some will and others won't. Usually schools just pertain to Halloween, while companies leave that be, seeing it as a "Childs Holiday". Valentine's Day on the other hand is just something that we put into our eras, giving us that chance to "express" love in that global format.
An early apology on the fact that some "Holidays" you love could perhaps be missing. You have to understand that everything in this world (by communicative and poll based functions) seems to be based on opinion, some will see something as worthy of placement when others won't even find themselves thinking of that at all. So if you're looking at that list with the thought of, "Well, there's nothing really liked", then go ahead and explain what you would see as your favored time of the year. Also, to those who live in diffrent nations; Holidays could go under diffrent names. Let alone, you might not have some of the same takes on them; so that just troubles it even more. If you can perhaps find comfort in explaining your own nations take on a "Holiday" then feel free to do so. Another hinderance of Holidays and choosing is a religious break-down of the factor. Most mainstream Religious Holidays have just become second nature, however during Christmas we all know the Jewish Holiday that takes place. Therefore, if something arises like this; you can state other, and place that down as well. Besides that, one reason Easter is up there merely focuses on so many falling into it. That could perhaps be biased, and depends on what you all may feel; it just seems that when it comes to being mentioned, so many seem to know the name and the phrase. As well there for Independence Day; since so many nations have altering days (Yet coincidently sometimes are in July together), then you can go ahead and use that for the Fourth of July or the Fourteenth, wherever you live and suits yourself best.
It seems that as we start to grow up, many "kids" will delude themselves from Holidays; the spirit of it all begins to fade into our past. You remember there, when we were all younger; Christmas was one of the biggest things. You'd sit there at night, knowing or at least having the faith of Santa coming to your house. There would be more than glee inside of what you thought; every little turning gear in your mind would be at work. You'd sit up for a bit, in those comforted clothes, sprawling back and forth through your home. Wondering when and where "Santa" could appear, with your heart beating in diffrent strides. The decorations around would mean everything, that warmth emited from the tree would slowly wrap around your own frame. Sharing it's glittering light upon the features of your face, every curve and cranny to sparkle like nothing had before. Underneath such branches, you'd see wrapped joys; smothered in the passion of that "Foil". To you though, it was so much more than just a material: It was everything, that only barrier between your wants and greeds. That glint would slowly glaze into your eyes, it's colors working beneath your skin and slowly phasing into your body. Yet now, as we begin to move on; that all seems to slip. Just like a type of rust, to cover what once was clear of troubles. It never makes full sense, it breaks apart; slowly crumbling.

I would probably say Christmas. Not just for the presents and stuff, but also for the two weeks off from school, which always comes in handy, especially since homework is less distributed over the vacation period. It's also a good way to request stuff that you want without dishing out a crapload of money (until you become an adult).

I know people are always, "Christmas is the best and most important holiday" Yes, when it comes to reason, the birth of Jesus is first in my heart, and most important. But when it comes to the feelings I get and the way a holiday effects me, I have to consider.
You see, I choose Halloween. Most people would be baffled by this, but Halloween is special to me. It's a break for excitment during school and brings an uplifting spirit to me that makes life easier, but also, marks my favorite part of my favorite season, Fall. I love the sweat-shirts and the chilliness, the thin layer of frost on the grass, the colors and the wintery-scent that lingers in the fall. I love the pumpkins ^^ The carving of a fresh new pumpkin. I love everything thing about it. I love Halloween.

Valentine's Day : NO! Why need an occasion to be with someone you love? Why not the 15th, HUH!? And the idea of a fat naked baby shooting people does not seem at all cute to me. Easter: Evil giant bunny... *shiveres* D: Independence Day (For any Nationality): I don't celebrate due to lack of interest. Thanksgiving: BORING! I hate my cousins. Halloween: It was developed by candy companies for lots 'o moolah. I liked it before, when it didn't involve princesses, angels, cute animals, and whatever else isn't considered at all scary beyond all reason. I swear, I haven't seen a bloody costume on my block forever. Christmas: A fat guy is coming down my non-existing chimeny, HELP! D: Not to mention you shouldn't be nice only at Christmas time. New Years: It's a brand new year, just like the one before it, and the one before that, and the one before that... Other: Do I REALLY need to go over this...?
In otherwords, I hate the holidays. Sue me.

When I was little, Halloween was my favorite. I always, and I mean ALWAYS, was a ghost when I went trick or treating. During the month, I would pretty much turn my room into a haunted house. I would put up moving ghosts (the ones that move and makes sounds) and some other blinking objects and stuff. Sometimes it would scare some of my younger friends. That was always funny. My vote will be for Halloween because no other holiday has affected me enough to an obsession.

I guess, I'm going Christmas. I really don't know why, but everyone just kind of seems more upbeat at the time. It's fun seeing little kids getting all excited and giddy. And of course, it's winter. Snow falls.(for me at least) I lurve watching snow fall, it just makes me happy and such. And when everythings all white and still, everything just seems at peace. Two weeks off from school and maybe a couple of presents here and there, nice little bonus. LEVEL UP ! !Next would be Halloween, if I have someone to hang out with. It's so much fun to just run around the streets in weird costumes and jumping up behind people. Running around school as Sasuke, throwing paper shuriken at the teachers, major fun. >_>

Valentine's Day: I agree with Gem on this one, surely you should show your love for someone on any day if you really loved them? Just a ploy for card makers and chocolate makers for some extra cash.
Easter: Actually shows some importance, but where in the death of Jesus did a rabbit and chocolate eggs come in, rabbits don't evil lay eggs do they? Independence Day: Don't celebrate for UKness Thanksgiving: Same as above Halloween: My least favourite holiday ever! What the crap is it actually celebrating? Nothing! Again, a ploy for more money from various company, it's pretty stupid too, I hate getting bothered every 10 minutes for kids who want some sweets and stuff, just go to a bloody shop instead of making me waste my money to get you sweet. It's over-rated, meaningless and stupidly annoying, whoever invented this holiday deserves to be shot with a rusty harpoon! Christmas: The meaning of christmas is simple, yet I do not celebrate the true meaning, presents are nice, but it's still annoying how my mum still thinks I'm fooled by "Santa". I worked it out years ago, I don't think she gets it, which annoys me. Relative are alright, I have nice cousins and the food is good (smokes salmon sarnies for breakfast, nice). Good excuse for presents it seems.
New Years: Over-rated, it's just a crappy TV special at midnight, I stay up for after midnight usually, but it's still not that great. New years resolutions, who can honestly say they've kept to one, cos I haven't, I just cut out the failure and not make any. So, yeah, Christmas it is it seems.

Though most of the time, I do that anyway. -pokes pink hair-
Yeah. A holiday where crossdressing is an option wins my vote. Tuxedos forever.

The whole point isn't just to stay up late and watch TV D: It's not my favorite, or most important to me but it has more of a point then to be a tv show.

I picked Christmas, because it's always a happy time of year. My sisters actually are kind to each other then. And Christmas time is about the only time of year when I get to see my cousins. (This year was an exception though, I saw them a lot.) And most of my cousins are fun. =D I also like the food. It's better than Thanksgiving food, because I don't like turkey or stuffing.

Valentine's Day: I do agree that it shouldn't be the only day where you buy your loved one presents and chocolate. It is kinda cute, though. XD
Easter: I don't know where bunnies and chocolate eggs come into play, but yes. The meaning of the holiday is very important to me.
Independence Day: Fireworks are nice... even though I miss them every single year. D: It feels kinda weird to celebrate independence from Britain when I have some British friends...
Thanksgiving: Food food food! And I get to see relatives, of course. But yes, I DO give thanks for what I have. I feel very grateful around that time, even though it shouldn't be the only time to feel grateful and give thanks.
Halloween: I find it boring... I don't fully understand what's being celebrated. Candy is nice, though.
Christmas: Love it! Not because of the presents, getting out of school, blah blah. The reason for the season, yo! And 'cause everyone is so happy and joyous around that time. The decorations are beautiful, nostalgia comes into play, I also get to see all my relatives. It makes me very, very happy.
New Years: A reminder that this year will never EVER come again! Whoo!
Christmas for me~

But yeah, it's celebrating a step into the future and a look to the past, but then again, isn't every day like that. Just cos it goes from December 31st to January 1st makes it special? Not really, just that it goes into a new year, but doesn't make it different from any other new day does it. It's just another day in our lives, and just cos you change the calander from 2006 to 2007, I don't see why people can't look into the past at anytime anyways, why wait for one day?

Valentine's Day: Don't like it. You can say, I'm the Lone Wolf here. I never found a girl and I gave up on it. I rather be alone.
Easter: It's alright, but I don't celebrate it anymore.
Independence Day: The Fireworks and cookouts are cool...
Thanksgiving: Boring....
Christmas: Presents, and getting away from school for a week or two, now THAT'S a Holiday for me.
New Years: Oh my god, 365 days has pass. BORING with a capital "B!"
Christmas, because I get to see my cousin from Maryland as well. ^^

I really like Christmas. Many reasons why, but one is I'm a sad child with one dollar that can't afford anything- and never has been able to. Plus it's actually the only time I actually get anything from my parents other then my birthday. I mean, they don't even buy me things that I NEED. Though, I end up stuck with my family for a whole day- and nobody in my family really likes me. They don't really accept me, just because I like to sit at my computer all day- it's really lame. Soo- I pick Halloween. Who could say no to free candy? D: And it's fun to dress up cosplay. Don't ask how I would know- I've never done it. Pssh, my friends and I are going to own everyone with our Disney/Square group. At least I think we are.

Why are some people so pessimistic?
I'll say New Years, because no one's picked it yet. I really like all the holidays the same; it's something to look forward to.

Oh dear, I'm stuck between four... Gotta love thanksgiving! What other holiday is about eating? Not many. Plus, everyone brings a dish that they made themselves, you get a huge mix on one plate! Once my aunt brought sweet potatoes and marshmallows. Gave me such a stomach ache... Ah Christmas... presents, family... specially the family. Every two years at Christmas, I go back to France to visit my grandparents, father, and cousins. Piles of fun. Oh halloween, how I love thee let me count the ways... Every year I trick or treat, and it'll be no different this year. Gosh, I LOVE almond joys and snickers and...well... nearly everything. Except Peanut Butter... I'm sorry, but not everyone likes Peanut butter. And the last holiday... eheheh... guess
