I say!
About time I got around to this. Anyways, I'm not stressing over finding a job right this minute so I went ahead and did this. I want you guys to pick which Mario Kart you want for the tourney. I am -definitely- going to do something Mario Kart-y but I dunno which you guys would want.
So, go ahead and vote! I'll probably take the winning choice as the next tourney option after a week, at the most, unless there's a tie. Then I'll extend it for maybe a day and after that, if it's still undecided... I dunno. We'll see. Have at it!

Jeez, tough decision, I think I'll have to go with MKDS, to make it fair because the person who plays me on SMK for Zsnes will obviously win and it's not fair. At least on MKDS they have to work that little bit extra to kick my ass, though not much.

Hm there Strangie, as Twi said there that's actually a bounty of some tough decisions to ravel yourself through.
There is much of a ladder to take when trying to decide between those two games; in essence, they might have the same title but they are definetly not a similiar game. One was of course, obviously made for its time. Built on a low key engine, but still fueled by it's fun and excitement. The other was created recently, and formed on that of something we all seem to recognize these days. Yet again, majority, especially on these forums, would happen to comprehend the power of the SNES. The two games are in the sorts, interesting to take on; but at the same time, their difficulty definetly ranges from their years. In actuality, a very young child could pick up Mario Kart DS and be well upon his way. Now, if you were to hand that youngin' a version of the old SNES warfare, you might find tears dwelling out of their eyes in no time. Especially on a ZSNES body, the emulator controls only go to confuse things even much more so. However, it should be recognized that every game has it's legend, and Mario Kart for the SNES definetly put it's wheels in Solid Gold.
Who knows though, many might actually prefery and oldy over a newer version. That could likely be situated on the fact that ZSNES is easier to aquire than an expensive system. Then again, none would likely take the trouble to afford a handheld for one matter. Regardless the point, you did bring up two very great genres of games that people have always enjoyed. Heck, during the last Christmas rush it was literally on everyones "To get and obtain" list. Still though, if they did choose the older version; the best of luck to them. Not only is that one of the most difficult games around, but the controls issued for the emulator would only make it harder to understand let alone control. Hey though, at least "snaking" wouldn't be to much of a probelm. Everyone knows that going into a 16-bit Aura would make things ten times more outstanding than they already are. Hey though, at least your mind won't get thrown off by all the "Awesome Graphics".
The DS version itself does have many quirks about it which could actually be a pleasure over the SNES. It comes in a majority of reasons, first off it does come with many characters that are easily issued for playing. Second off, if you do like the SNES Tracks, they are also added to the gameplay. At least some of them are, if not all of them, that's up to one of you old "Game" Gurus to decide. One major issue, as mentined early is "snaking", it would be nice for someone to actually make a rule against that if this was chosen. It's a hard ability to do, and you know, kudos to all of those that easily have it down. Not all racers out there do though, so some fairness should at least be involved. Heck, knowledge of where the secret paths are should be enough for anyone to get ahead in a long drawn-out race. Besides, you know if you join Strangie you're just going to win the thing XD.
Seriously though man, it sounds like a cutting edge idea there; and it's great to see that work isn't getting on your mind at this time. Though always do what you need to do for yourself first, for your life matters there and always will. But hey, lovely game choices, and hopefully this all marches through without any error.

Oh wow! I get to be part of this Tpurney ^^ (I hope) I vote for DS 1. cos you can't really cheat on it (i.e, snaking and all) 2. the controls, I find, are alot easier to use
Though I'm not fussed either way as I have both games for both consoles ^^

I'm going for Mario Kart DS because I'm really not all that keen on the online with emulators business.

I've only once snaked and I sucked horribly at it, so you get no snaking from me =)
MKDS. Because it gives me an excuse to get my parents to help me fix the Wi-Fi now.

get a wifi adapter? you can just cram that into a usb port and it acts as an access point your ds can connect to.

For the sake of people without WiFi abilities (like me) I'd have to say Mario Kart SNES (that's what she meant, she said so, in person) is the more friendly option.
Also, its version of Rainbow Road is simply awesome.

Well, shoot. I just learned what snaking was, and it turns out I do it all the time. I should stop, but everyone I race does it, so I have to do it to win them. D:

I guess I should read the manual <<; It's over WiFi, actually. XD You need a Wifi adapter or a router... you didn't know that? Geez. XD I'd love to play you! Also, I might require your superior art services again, because I have problems drawing in people for tourneys unless I bribe them with prettiness. D:
