Anime's cool. I don't watch a whole lot of it, and I don't read manga. I just don't like otaku.
Twi: Otaku? Is that some sort of food? Twi: Otaku noodles? Anjil: Yeah, it does sound kind of like ramen or something. Anjil: Otaku = hardcore anime fans that say Japanese words like "kawaii" for no reason. Anjil: And cosplay and eat Japanese food and want to speak Japanese just 'cause they like anime so much. Twi: I know no japanese words, and those types of people annoy me. On DA when people say "that's very <japanese word, usually kawaii>" are really annoying, why can;t they just speak english? Anjil: Yeah. D: ... Anjil: lol konnichiwa, twi-chan~~! ^_^ kawaii desu~~~~!!1 Twi: You used the tilde key too much, my name doesn't have four extra letters in it and what the flaming freakcakes does Kawaii desu mean?! MY BRAIN HURTS Anjil: gomen nasai, twi-kun!!1 T-T Anjil: I'm starting to scare myself. Twi: You're starting to scare me.
I usually watch Naruto, Kenshin (when it was on TV), and the episode of the GetBackers that Kurtis showed me looked pretty cool. Oh, and Bobobo-bobo-bobo, please~

Hahaha Anjil XD I have a friend like that. He's a cosplayer and an absolute anime fanatic. He can get a little weird sometimes, imitating Naruto's jutsus and all. But he's still my friend D= XD

I hate anime with a hot firey passion like hell itself. Anime is a sad excuse to poorly animate cartoons and normally consist of battling make-belive monsters that will never exsist. It poisons minds. In my opinion, anyways~ It bothers me that so many people adore it when it's not all that cool. It just reeeeeeally bothers me Honestly, I've seen anime that has scared me because of how strange the people look. And I used to watch old bugs bunny cartoons on cartoon network. Now? Pffft, yeah right, all it is is anime shows. It makes me sad ]: And on disney? What the heck is Jetex? I've given up on cartoons. Now I bet all you fans hate me 0_o

O_____o;; I love how there are so many different opinions here! =D
I like ALL cartoons, ranging from anime to freaking Dora the Explorer (yeah, I said it!) and I find that my preferences lie in the classic toons (Bugs Bunny, Ducktales, etc.) and anime. Most of the cartoons I see today on Nick, or daytime Cartoon Network, look like a 2 year old colored them because all the color is out of the lines (mostly backgrounds), also, if you look closely at characters, they don't stay consistent (example: Dexter's Lab) and the styles sometimes seem to change in the middle of a cartoon... what I do like about cartoons like this though is that you can watch one episode and see the conclusion of the problem that took place. Sometimes that's just nice. As for anime, I fell in love with the style, the look, of the characters. Everything was so stylized, so expressive, so detailed, and I wanted to be able to draw like that! I've been trying for six years now and am only to what you may (or may not) have seen here on YC or on DA. Most anime have long story lines that cannot be ended in one episode, though there will most likely be a sub-plot or something that will be solved. Because of this anime, to me, is in essence a toon version of a soap opera, just with more impossibilities in them... If you watch a few different animes (not neccesarily the WHOLE series) you'll see similar archetypes running through them that we have in daytime AND primetime television, anime just happens to put these archetypes through magical portals, into mech suits, or gives them cute little monsters for friends. Please, don't take my long winded post for a straight up and down defense one way or the other because obviously it's not. I like anime, bt those crazy "Kawaii"-folk scare and annoy the s__t out of me... >____>

I'm for anime. Since I can't do realism or things like that. TRIPLE BONUS MULTIPLIER ! ! I like some of it because there's usually some plotline to follow. Some American cartoons such as Ed,Ed'n, Eddy(Or however they spell it. ~_~) and the Grim adventures of Billy and Mandy make me want to smash my television. >_< But then again some animes are just plain stupid. (I'm looking at you Bobobo! What the hell's with the name too?! @_@) DBZ also got on my nerves. Most of the episodes dropped the plotline for random yelling and screaming. :\ I think Naruto's a cute spin on the whole ninja thing, but now a days there are a crap load of ninja shows. That's no fun. >_> Fullmetal Alchemist has got to be in my top favorites though. :3 It's like maturish but has some realistic issues there. I'm still wondering why the anime ended so early. The manga's still going isn't it? LEVEL UP ! !I want to learn Japanese. But for the sake of learning. The highschool next to mine teaches Mandarin Chinese. I wanna special language! Spanish class gets boring. TRIPLE BONUS MULTIPLIER ! ! And, hey, it's an interesting language. Hard to learn(for me. TRIPLE BONUS MULTIPLIER ! !) but very interesting. Anyways, back on topic! I guess my currents would be Naruto, BLEACH, Pokemon(Yes, I still watch! My little brother has it on. :3 The replacement for Ash is hard to ajust to though..)and Tsubasa Chronicles. My top favorites would have to be FMA, Digimon, and Card Captor Sakura. C'mon those pink frilly dresses were captivating when I was six! TRIPLE BONUS MULTIPLIER ! !

The thing is some animes aren't funny, about fighting and scattered is because of several reasons so listen up 'cause I've got a lot to say. Most animes like Full-Metal Alchemist, Naruto and other main ones were directed toward an older audience, just look at the TV ratings. The higher the rating the less comedy may be in it. Most American shows were aimed at the Y7 age group thus it is more funny. Also most shows that are mainstream such as the ones I named are classified as Shonen, anime and manga for boys which are mostly fighting, something to do with occult and sometimes a little serious. Another type, Shojo, manga and anime for girls, is a lot more about romance, a little more hummorus and focuses more on the storyline. Such examples of Shojo are Fruits Basket, Tokyo Mew Mew and Super GALS. The reason why anime episodes are so scattered is all anime start as manga and all the chapters are bundled in chapters in one volume so you didn't miss a "episode" but with anime they can only fit so much into 30 mintues they can't possibly fit all you see in the manga into one show. Well, apperently I hate both. TRIPLE BONUS MULTIPLIER ! ! I mean, Super GALS and Tokyo Mew Mew? Those are the most annoying, girly anime of them all! It's so... stereotypical for girls. >> I never heard of Fruits Basket though... And fighting gets annoying after awhile. Also, with some of them I don't get why they're any better than Dora the Explorer or Blues Clues and Barney. I mean it's all about friend ship and love and 'the good of man-kind'. Bleh. The style is okay, but I prefer the simple styles, not 'lets-put-so-many-details-on-this-person-thing-so-no-one-can-draw-it-without-messing-up-or-know-what-it-really-is! '

I don't really like anime any more.I just...can't get into it.Some mature mangas are pretty good, like Death Note and Wolf's Rain, but that's about it.I used to be a freak for Naruto, but now,it just plain annoys the fudge outta me.However,Pita-Ten,being one of the best freaking comics I've ever read, has stuck with me for a while. It starts out annoying, but it ends up having a happy-yet-depressing ending.
It just depends on my mood.

I don't like anime much.
Okay, so really not at all.
A lot of times, a lot of anime just either has way too much fighting, lackluster plots, or tries way too hard to be funny and ends up not being funny at all. Most of the mainstream anime suffers from these faults (DBZ, Naruto, and Gundam- among others- anyone?). Life is not all about fighting, which a lot of anime seems to capitalize, throwing out everything else in the process. And another thing that really bugs me about anime is they'll fight like the same enemy for a hundred episodes and he'll just keep running away, over and over again (see: DBZ and InuYasha).
The only anime stuff I like is mostly stuff that I enjoyed before I turned thirteen and started to have more refined tastes, thus the anime is still liked for a nostalgia factor. Whoo. I still like Yu Yu Hakusho, Digimon, and... ...That's about it. Go, go nostalgia.

Yay for me.
I like anime alot better then most other cartoons because it doesn't rely on bathroom humor to be funny and has actual plots (^^). I like watching SGT. Frog alot as it makes fun of all those anime cliches. The characters them selves are pretty memereable and funny. It relies on humor and doesn't have any real fighting or plot. I also like a few others like Fullmetal alchemist, Ranma, and the Negima Manga
