I hope the touch screen doesn't have to be used to move Yoshi around and to like, throw eggs and stuff in this one. That would make it way harder. And not good, challenging hard...More like boring, tedious hard.
If you ARE allowed to use the D-Pad, though, this will no doubt be a damn good game.

Speaking of good games, has everyone seen the new Super Smash Bros. Brawl trailer? Kid Icarus? Meta Knight? Zero Suit Samus?! SOLID SNAKE?!?! Come on, lets see Boshi as an alternate Yoshi costume! Yeah, I also saw the trailer. They're putting Pit in, although I have no idea where he's from, he looks really neat with that bow and wings. Seeing Mario in kirby's pot was absolutely lovely XD

Pit is from an NES game called Kid Icarus. The only reason I knew that was b/c I actually own a copy of it, lol.

I'm terribly sorry for reviving this dead topic, but I just saw this, and thought it might be interesting. Although it has the possibility of being fake. I sorta understand Baby Wario, but Baby Bowser? And this also brings a couple of more question, where the heck is Baby Luigi? Who's the bad guy? Main source here

Wow, this is getting more messed up with the moment. Nintendo kills me a little inside everytime they start to show promise again.

I sorta understand Baby Wario, but Baby Bowser? And this also brings a couple of more question, where the heck is Baby Luigi? Who's the bad guy? Main source hereDidn't the Yoshis let Baby Bowser ride once in a while? I don't know really, never played SMW2: YI yet. Baby Luigi got kidnapped didn't he? And I'm sure Baby Bowser's still the bad guy. If these prove false, considering it has WiFi, it might be a bunch of minigames to play, but who knows.Anyway, it does look pretty good, so I might buy it. EDIT: Wait, you guys might want to look at this. This is from E3. - Part One - Part Two Looks promising to me. ^^ Hm...has the same kind of style used in Sonic Rush. The Top/Bottom Screen switch. I like that. EDIT Again...: I just thought of it, each baby has their own special ability. I don't know Mario's...but it seems that Baby Peach can help get across long gaps and propel you where the wind blows with her parasol. Wario can get nearby coins with the magnet shown in the cover and Baby Bowser can shoot long range fireballs to take out most enemies.

It actually looks decent. I like how the gameplay flows with the switching of the kids.
...But the first level is nearly a REMAKE. At least it provided some different stuff in it, so it gets points back.
The only thing I'm really not going to like about this game is the sound effects. I like the old ones much better. They seemed to grab the sound effects from all the different Mario games and stuffed them together in this one game. Such as Yoshi's sound when the kid gets on his back; it's the old-school Yoshi. And when the babies cry. I'm going to hate that... Mario's crying sound effect is from Luigi's Mansion, by the way. It sounds extremely similar to the baby's in that game.

I'm totally going to get this because it's the sequel to my favorite game of all time... but those levels in the videos seemed pretty slow and boring except for that one part when yoshi was running away from that giant boulder. Then again, those are just the early levels. I'm sure Nintendo will throw a big bag full of new challenges at us. They did that with New Super Mario Bros., and I'm hopeful that they can do it again.
Not quite sure what that has to do with this, kinda vague... Have some faith, dude. Seriously.

The only thing I'm extremely worried about is the official artwork.
I don't think it's going to be like the old skool Yoshi's Island style anymore...

They're throwing a new game into their little joke of a continuity that just totally messes crap up, I mean, baby Peach, aby Bowser, baby Wario? All it seems to me is like another chance to milk more money out of the system by reinventing something that was good and just adding so many cooks to the soup that it ends up a lumpy paste instead. I have faith in one thing, and that's Super Smash Brothers: Brawl.

All it seems to me is like another chance to milk more money out of the system by reinventing something that was good and just adding so many cooks to the soup that it ends up a lumpy paste instead. I don't see how this will end up as what you call a "Lumpy paste", in fact, I'm sure it'll be a pretty damn good game as far as the baby swapping idea. Honestly, baby Mario is weak, I'm gonna love swapping to Bowser and roasting the skin of my enemies with fireballs. All Mario does is cry and make you want to step on him, except for the star, anyway, which still isn't all that often. I'm going to like this new gimmick. It's make things a lot more interesting, like the fine art of topping your high score. I think you're being too quick to judge, anyway. You've probably not seen more than a few videos of the gameplay, and you're judging on this one new tweak alone. What will REALLY define this game is the new challenges, and the new levels and worlds and stuff, and in that department I trust Nintendo with all of my heart... They didn't fail at New Super Mario Bros. in that category. The baby swap idea will be a nice treat for me, but just the thought of it: A whole new Yoshi's Island world! THAT makes me giddy. The only thing that actually excites me about that game is...uh... Actually it doesn't particularly excite me. Except maybe new characters that I'm not going to use and stages that I'll take for granted eventually. But then again, it is too early to judge. Maybe they'll reveal something that catches my interest sometime later.

I have faith in one thing, and that's Super Smash Brothers: Brawl. Woah woah, back up there, Grae... First of all, you're basing your opinions off screenshots, previews, and a few videos, and assuming that the end result will be something terrible when despite introducing a new concept in almost every previous game in their flagship series they've been successful? No doubt you were one of the people who thought Super Mario Sunshine was going to suck ultimately, yes? And this blind faith in Super Smash Bros: Brawl, over a single video, some information on a website, and screenshots? It looks like a mere graphics retool with more characters thrown in. Wow, more clones and better graphics added to a game that was intensely fun until you played it into the ground and now it's a silly timewaster. Not saying it's not going to be good, but it seems to have less 'promise' than Yoshi's Island 2. Seriously, I've seen you dump on all kinds of stuff, such as Final Fantasy 12, yet you rabidly support Final Fantasy 11, which is just another in a series of MMORPG level-grinding exercises with the Final Fantasy franchise stamped on it. You're coming off as a pessimistic stuck-in-the-retro-era emokid, I know you're not that, so what the crap? I'm surprised you can keep going day-to-day, the way you express your opinion about things. A lot of people, not just you, do this, it irritates me to no end, especially seeing as many of them who do it are part of the furry fandom. I mean, I thought that thing was ALL about being open-minded to others, so... Also, getting back on topic, it looks really good so far, just hope it doesn't crap out in the end. TRIPLE BONUS MULTIPLIER ! ! The thought of utilizing Baby Bowser is just too cool to me, hehe. And yeah, using the touchscreen to control Yoshi...that would suck, but I doubt they're gonna do that, right? I would think Baby Mario's special power would be the Star, eh? We'll find out, maybe it's just crying like crazy and annoying the player.

Nah, the guy in the video didn't tap the touch screen a single time so they probably won't. They know how awkward it would be, I bet.
That game was the booooomb. I liked it even more than Super Mario 64! The controls for Sunshine were just dreamy. Double-scoop ice cream

Yes, and yes. The more you change something the less like what it was, will it become. And the point I'm making is that there is no justification for a plot continuity of this game's presence... they'rer just kinda throwing some weird plot event in for this game just because iot's convenient to make another game like the old one, just more gimmicky eith a bunch of stuff added, no doubt with useless DS functionality. And shut your dirty ass up, Jesus Christ. For the love of God, why the hell does everyone say that. My faith in Super Smash Brothers: Brawl is not in the video, not in it's graphics, not in it's trailer's music. It's because Super Smash Brothers was a wonderful game, and Super Smash Brothers Melee was an absolutely godawesome game for me, perhaps my favorite game, hell, even made in the last six years. Probably one of the most fun games I've ever played, with the highest replay value and the very highest multiplayer value of any game I'vep layed. A perfect masterpeice to me, and given the knowledge that Nintendo put together a team and office entirely for it's creation with my favorite music artist doing the soundtrack, that is what makes me anticipate Super Smash Brothers: Brawl. The fact that it's graphics will be delicious eye-candy will just be a plus. The next in the series of an awesome, perfect game that will undoubtedly have little signifigant changes to the gameplay aspect, minus the super-power thing which I'm sure like items, you can turn off (And I no doubt will wish it so.) I'm still steadfast about it, too. - You don't need to 'fix' what isn't broken. Don't mess with perfection.
- Oh, so I'm the sole person responsible for it? My extensive playing the game has made it no longer fun? Even though it concerns no one but me and thus if it hasn't become anything less for me there's absolutely no reason for it to have for anyone else?
I often wonder the same, with eight hours a day to do it in. I fail to see the nessesity, validity, or relevance of this point in relation to this arguement.

The plot never really concerned me as far as sidescrolling platformers went. At all. Plot doesn't matter too much in those types of games, at least the Mario ones, I think. It's usually the same, save a certain someone or something in distress.

Well now.
Remember that this discussion is about video games, the motorized things we use for entertainment. The nature of the board makes it more likely that people will have... emotional investments in these games, but at some point there must be that ounce of self control that prevents the ugly side of emotions from rising to the surface and doing things like this. There is no excuse.
Looking back, there was no reason to bring up a targeted argument in the first place. None. If you find yourself saying "it pisses me off so much X" regarding video games, and if you're attempting to make an example out of a single person, then it is time to stop, back down and regain total control so you're writing the message rather than your spite.
The responses to those kinds of things must be dealt with in another way. It may be understandable to want to bite back using the same kind of spite that was used, but that is not a justification for actually doing so. It's easy to swear, yell, attack back; that takes no control. But whatever you gain from it at the moment is, more often than not, just that. It's what drives escalation and the breakdown of relations. What would you stand to gain if this example was continued?
I'm fairly sure it wouldn't be a discussion on this game. Clamp it.
