Hey guys^^ I have noticed that we dissed YAF... I know some members dislike YAF but was that really needed? I meen I like both fourms but that was really not that nice... Now if YAF did something to YC before that then I can understand that but why did we do that to YAF?

Uh... What? YC never did anything to Yoshi Art. It was two people, acting alone; whether or not they're a part of YC doesn't matter.
It was Something Awful that made the remarks, the searches, the comments, everything. It was not YC.

Eh? We did something? The SA thing was not us. It was the decision of two people who happen to be part of the board, but this was nothing to do with the YC. I already said this in my journal on dA. For this to be involved with YC, I would also have to be involved, and secondly, it'd be all over this boards cafe. This is really starting to annoy me now. Did we do anything? I know that I'm not "with it" but there was a big split between the two forums and things were left just at that. It would have been nice if we can finally get some sort of truce between YC and YAF settled but that's just wishful thinking.
This is seriously getting annoying, can we just bury the hatchet already? We don't bother you, you don't bother us. It seems simple like that. And just take a look around, I don't see any YAF bashing topics here do you? But some how there's just a giant feuding fight that never ends. Seriously, we're a different forum so just don't drag your matters with us and spreading lies because it's only going to get everyone riled up again.

It's not called "dissing".. It's called trying to be humorous.  For the record, Jim/Lazo had tried submitting the Yoshi's Corner to SomethingAwful before. I don't believe this was meant to attack them, just meant to be something we can all laugh at. Well. We could all laugh at it if people didn't think it was some farout attack. It's a shame they don't and that people seem to miss humor a lot. I was very amused by this. Can't say I know the people who did this (at least I don't think), but SomethingAwful was meant to be a site for comedy. And aside from that, it's not like the whole board pooled their resources to do this. But people have already commented on that aspect, so I'll leave it to their posts to explain that. And yeh, I can say I wouldn't mind it if it were the Yoshi's Corner that were featured there and that one of my posts made it there somehow. That would amuse me, too. Amusement is fun and stuff. |

Yeah I'm a big YA person. I heard all about it and at first I thought it was the two people that posted it that was behind the text and such. Yeah I overreact when my friends are hurt. It's a natural reaction for me.
But yeah I was angry at first, but calmed down. Now if it was the whole YC... yeah I would still be ticked.
I'm being a good sport with it and doing my best. YAF is slightly outta control though. Hopefully it all clears up.

I can't believe they got so out of control because of a joke. They could always look on the bright side though, at least they'll get more activity now.
It's not healthy for people to react that way. There's a difference between "serious" and "joke". Anything on SA is realy a joke. A bit of fun. If it were serious, SA would be constantly down due to being DoS'd by victims and would be hacked to peices too. Makes me wonder if one of the members would beat the living crap out of an old woman for calling them something they didn't like. <<
Soul has pretty much declared war on Yoshi's Corner now, and I think it's all a bit silly. It's like the US declaring war on a country like France because two French citizens said "teh US suksorz". >>
In any case, we're ready for anything he may do, which is rally a few members to his cause and get them to spam the living crap out of this board, even though we have absolutely nothing to do with it.
Spam can be removed, but the damage in someones reputation cannot, so I highly suggest Soul back down now, he's only hurting himself, and his site by saying he'll declare war on us. >>

People need a sence of humour and actually have the mick taken out of them, the YA have turned a mountain into a molehill on this one, I'm afraid. More-so, Soul, who seems to want to destory us to the core or something. Nevertheless people need to get a sence of humour about this kind of thing and stop being retarded in thinking YC was trying to attack YA and make everyone cry.

Amusement is fun and stuff. outed For Truth I have felt a little regret at the repurcussions that occurred because of mine and Lazo's submitting YAF to the Weekend Web. Not due to the people who were mocked, but the drama it sparked afterwards. Also, I want to reiterate, just so you all have my testimony, that I was doing this of my own volition, and not as a member of YC, but as just a reader of Something Awful who wanted to contribute. I'll take any and all responsibility for my half, YC can wash its' cyber-hands of what I did. ...Anything else I wanted to say is right up there in the quote box. ^^; |

I don't attend YAF frequently; I do browse art from time to time, though. I really think they shouldn't overreact, though, because we already had this conversation a few months ago.
We had agreed to leave them alone, didn't we? Does Soul not trust us any more or something?

I have ya know that there shouldn't be anyone from YA start spamming here.
Everything has been settled now. I'm glad it's over and now I just need to relieve everyone of what's been going on.
I missed this place a lot after my cpu crashed and I forgot the site name. lol I use the quick searching way with the memory filling idea.
Then I decided to google it today and now I'm back. I hope to be a more active member this time.

I found it childish how it went from "YA uber pwnage" to "YC ATTACKS YA, OMFG KEEL THEM!!" YC attacked YA? Yeah... like it was ALL of our intention to take the mickey out of YA wasn't it...
Even if they did, Yoshee, we wouldn't fight back, we know full well the exact situation, and unlike many YAers, we're "mature" compared to them, we got the intellect to actually think before acting, so turning back to chew their heads off would oly drag us down to their level.
I reckon YA should just stop and think for a minute before doing something so stupid that'll crush them, really. YC did not do this, and, now i've thought about it, neither did the 2 "culprits" who sent YA to the "Weekend Web" when you think about it, it was SAs own decision to take it on and give them grief, it should be them who YA should be targetting, not us.

It's not such a big deal, Something aweful.com always mock websites YAF isn't any different.
As many have already said it was down to 2 people who were on the board not the entire community (and to Gar, don't worry about it)
Heck! one of my posts were mocked too, I wasn't upset, in fact, I found it rather amusing.
You guys just need to get the funny side of a joke, and not to take SAs' weekly web so seriosly, the people who write that stuff don't mean anything personal, they don't even know you. They do it all for a laugh!
