The Secret Santa Rules - Please Read

Welcome to the second annual Yoshi's Corner Secret Santa 2006!


This board was made to host all Secret Santa gifts, whether the gifts are drawings, fan fiction, or poems! Please be sure to read these rules to avoid any confusion. ^^



Rules for the Exchange!

• Do NOT post any threads here until the 25th of December, Christmas Day!
  I think this is pretty straightforward. ^^ Don't post threads until Monday, the 25th of December aka Christmas Day! If you believe you won't be able to post your gift on Christmas Day, you can post it late instead of early. Theres no harm in that!
  
  
• ONLY post your gift exchange
  This is not just any forum, this is the Secret Santa forum! Its not a place for Christmas-type discussion or anything. So please, no posting threads other than your gift! If you'd like to talk about Christmas, you can go on and post a thread over at the Cafe.
  
  
• Don't ward off the holiday spirit!
  More specifically, don't give such advanced critique on anyone's work, unless it was asked for! This isnt a time to judge the quality of anyones work. Wouldn't it be sad to hear how much your Christmas present that you worked so hard to get for your friend could of been improved?
  
  
• It's Christmas, guys. Be fair!
  Please try the best you can to comment on everyone's picture. This is not a time to play favorites and only comment on the "good" pictures. Spread the Christmas cheer by making everyone feel special! If there is a thread with little comments, use what little time it takes to comment.
  
  
• You have ONE Santee!
  The point is, do not to post multiple topics for your single target! If you have something to add to your post, you can just edit it. That's what the edit button is for, after all. This is also so you don't bump down any other topics too much.
  
  
• Tell it like it is!
  Try to keep your thread titles as clear and concise as possible! An example would be "Gift for (name here)". I think the mall should be the only place for confusion during Christmas.
  
  
• Hey, dont forget the entire purpose of this exchange.
  HAVE FUN!! This exchange isn't meant for anyone to feel anguish for not making a good enough gift. This is not a big competition to give the best gift. It is an event for all of us to have fun, and make our santee and others feel the joy of giving.

When does it end?

• The deadline for posting your Secret Santa gifts is the 12th of January! Why so long after Christmas, you ask? Well, some people may be busy for the holidays and may not be able to make/post their gift in time. So more time is given to those people. Dont fret if your gift is going to be late, or if you haven't received anything yet. As the saying goes, better late than never!
  
  
• BUT remember that the board will still be open for comments until January 31st!
  
  
• When the exchanges are finally done, this entire sub-board will be moved to the Filing Cabinet for reading purposes on January 31st, so that you can always go back and think of all the memories.
  
  
• Due to timezone differences for some of the members in this forum, some gifts may be posted earlier than you'd expect. Don't wig out if someone posts before Christmas starts in your area! If it is Christmas where you are, and you believe the time is right, go on and post away!
  
  
• There has also been a good amount of concerns about if somebody doesn't finish their gift. If it is not done by the topic deadline (January 12th), then there will be volunteers who can make a gift for the less fortunate out of the goodness of their hearts. If this does happen, the deadline for thread-posting will be extended to January 20th. If there is anyone who would like to be a volunteer, PM me. It will be first come-first serve, or Ill just choose at random if there are too many. ^^
