REALLY IMPORTANT EDIT: Okay so I'll be the first to admit that maybe I bit off more than I can chew with this project. Here's the skinny. I find myself suddenly about to get a new job working at Washington Mutual and at 40 hours a week working 8 a.m. to 5 p.m five days a week, I seriously don't think I'm going to have enough time to do a goddamn thing. If you're still interested in playing, post here and let me know. And I mean REALLY interested. If you're not anymore, due to whatever reason, that's fine. I can understand that, since it was kind of my fault in the first place for being too ambitious. HOWEVER. I still do have a couple of days off during the weekends, and I think I can manage a few people at once. Or, I might be able to manage it easier if I can get everybody into groups quicker, instead of this soloing nonsense.
Here's what I want you to do. I want people to post down what times they are free to play, if they're still interested in playing. The people who have similar free times, I'll try and group up and have some good times. As for the few who are already in a group, you don't really have to worry about this, but I'd like you to post anyway if you want. As for the ones who AREN'T interested in helping me keep up this charade, just say so. I won't mind because I screwed it all up in the first place.
Just... do that, and post any other thoughts you have. Just don't ridicule me for not getting enough games going as I finally managed to get a life and a job and that comes first. You know how it is. Yeah...
EDIT: Check the bottom of this post for more info for players. Also, I don't care if you don't know how to play. If you want to join in a group activity say so and I'll hook you up proper. Also, note to players: NO TALKING ABOUT YOUR CHARACTERS HERE. EVER. NEVER. GAH. Keep that stuff either in IRC or in MSN or whatever.
MOAR EDIT: Yeah I think I forgot to mention this, haha. If you wanna sign up for this just post on the topic stating your interest andhow awesome I am whatever. I've been working hard on this so I'm liking the response so far.
AGAIN EDIT: Okay, so I've figured out what days will go for YCDnD and which for YCNWN, which I need to get rolling again. Sun-Tues. will be for DnD, and Thurs-Sat. will be for NWN. Wed. is my day to chill and tell you all to screw off.
Alright, dangit. This is the real deal.
For the tl;dr people: I wanna get YCDnD started again. Are you interested? www.d20srd.org has some info for newbies to the game. However I still recommend you read this entire post, it'll do you much good.
Now for those who have some time on their hands.
Does anybody remember when I wanted to do a Yoshi's Corner Dungeon and Dragons thing? Well I hope you do, because it's coming around again. A lot of things have changed since then, though: I've taken my first steps into DMing games and I have a pretty good understanding of how things work. I'm still learning, though, but who isn't?
In any case, I know there was a bunch of people who were interested in this but I never got around to catering to them, because I wasn't skilled enough to DM yet and I had to rely on others to do so for me, all of these attempts failing pretty spectacularly at some point. But this time around it's going to be different.
I want fresh faces. People who are interested in learning and playing DnD but have nobody to teach them. I want veterans, too. People who HAVE played before but have no game to play in. I want anybody and everybody who's a contender to step up to the plate. But here's the thing - it's going to be restricted to Yoshi's Corner members only.
No outsiders.
I'm doing this for you guys. I'll try to cater to each and every person who wants in on this. No limits. Even if I have to work with 50 people, I'll devise something that'll make it easier on myself to do so. I want this to work. So badly, you don't even know! I just want SOMETHING that I come up with to work half-way decently. Everything else I've tried save for YCNWN hasn't seen much overally success, and even YCNWN is currently on hiatus until SOME people get back from vacation. *shakes fist at Yoshee*
I'm open to any and all suggestions. I want to hear your interest. For those of you who were in previous YCDnD campaigns, what do you want done differently? Who wants to learn how to play Dungeons and Dragons? Embarking on an epic journey with your friends to far off places to do battle with the biggest evils the world has ever known! Oh it'll be good times. Much good times.
For those who haven't played the game before, www.d20srd.org goes over how the game mechanics work and what everything does. It's an extensive read, but worth it if you're serious about playing. A copy of the Player's Handbook (which I have in .PDF format for those interested, also) is also beneficial for those learning, and there are many other books as well, but I'll go over those with people later if people find this interesting enough.
Post away! I'll be waiting.

Alright, here's some more nerdy stuff for those of you who are playing. I'll update this as I see fit. If you're not a player quite yet and you don't know what any of this means, just ignore it for now. I will gladly teach the basics of the game to anybody who wants to learn to play, but for now, here are the rules so far:
All characters are 1st level. Thus, you may not select a race to play that has a level adjustment (or "LA").
All six scores (STR, DEX, CON, INT, WIS, CHA) start at 8 (not counting racial adjustments). You get 36 points to spend. Increasing a score by 1 costs 1 point. When you increase it past 14, all further raisings costs 2 points. Thus, raising a score from 8 to 18 (the maximum, not counting racial bonuses) will cost 14 points. All racial adjustments are made AFTER applying your scores. You cannot lower a score below 8 to gain more points - only a racial adjustment can lower a score below 8.
All classes, variants, feats, and other customizables from any official sources, www.d20srd.org and www.crystalkeep.com are available for use as long as I approve it before hand. You can play as any alignment, any class, and any race as you please, but keep in mind the ramifications of the alignment you pick - www.d20srd.org/srd/description.htm#alignment has more information on how alignments work and what they mean. I will not hesitate to alter the alignments of those who do not act accordingly (i.e. a Neutral Good character who keeps murdering people will be made into a True Neutral alignment and eventually a Neutral Evil alignment if his rampage of evil acts continues)
All sheets will be created and saved on www.thetangledweb.net - they must be made public so I can see them. If you don't know how to make a sheet here, get a hold of me and I'll show you how.
The Trait and Flaw variants are available: You may select two of each. Details on both of them are included here: www.d20srd.org/indexes/variantBuildingCharacters.htm
More individual, specific rules will be discussed in-game with players if it pertains to their characters.
All players have a random starting location on the map, which I will determine before the game starts. Once the intro is finished, freelancing may begin. (Or if you're just a jerk, you can ignore the main quest and go do your own thing, but circumstances will behoove you to go do it if you've half a brain)
I have final say on EVERYTHING. Because I am awesome like that.
If you have any questions or need clarification on any rule or other info, don't hesitate to ask me.
Again, when I think of more to put here, I'll put it here.
