This is just a story to go along with a mario level I made using a neat game I found(Just Google Super Mario Flash level editor; should be the first result).
If you want to see the level, I'll paste the code at the end of the post(To do so, go to the game, Level Editor, Load, and copy and past the code into the box, then click load, then play.)
Mario and Luigi peered into the Wretched Woods, but all they could see was a dark abyss of shadow. Mario seemed excited with his usual determined expression while Luigi was behind him, his knees and teeth clattering violently.
The Mario Bros had been called upon to investigate the woods for any sign of the Koopa Klan who were reported to have been seen going to and fro from the woods and to find the missing toad scouts who had been sent before them.
“Ooh, I don't like it, Bro,” Luigi said between the chattering of his teeth.
Mario turned to Luigi and placed a hand on his shoulder in reassurance, then turned on his heel and ran into the woods, disappearing into the shadows.
“Mario! Don't leave me here!” Luigi exclaimed, then clumsily ran after his brother.
Mario saw a dancing question mark block atop a small tree. He promptly jumped upon the leaves and took a Super Mushroom from the block. Luigi tumbled through the foliage and nearly knocked Mario from the tree as he ran into the trunk of it. Mario peeked down at him from the leaves and raised a brow.
“Sorry, Bro!”
Mario shook his head in an amused manner and threw the remaining mushroom down to Luigi, who devoured it in one bite. “Thanks, Mario!”
Mario made the “OK” sign with his hand and disappeared once again.
“Wait, Bro!” But it was already too late, and Mario was well ahead of him. Luigi sighed and groaned, “Not again.”
Luigi jumped atop the tree, then to the next. His eyes caught sight of three coins gleaming in the leaves of one of the trees which enticed him to collect them, but he was surprised by a Spikey who popped out seemingly from nowhere. Screaming, he leaped over it to another tree, then over a pit to a further tree where he collected himself. He crawled to the edge of the leaves and his eyes widened upon seeing a Piranha Plant's teeth gleaming in the tall grass below.
Swallowing hard, he jumped well over it and landed cleanly on the grass. As he walked on, not watching where he was stepping, he turned just in time to see an attacking Goomba. He yelped as he jumped, and fell upon it with a sound resembling a wooden pole hitting a hard stone. He stood up and brushed the dirt from his clothes, then collected the four coins he saw nearby.
Carrying along, he stomped a pair of Goombas and came upon a twin-pipe, but he noticed a Piranha Plant's leaf wriggling just atop the upward facing pipe. He leaped over it and fell right upon a Koopa, knocking it back against the pipe and ducking just in time as it ricochet off the pipe. It hit a the two Goombas behind who were sent screaming into the forest.
“Man, that was a close one!” exclaimed Luigi under his breath.
However, a group of both Goombas and Koopas had heard the Goombas' cries and headed towards Luigi, but he managed to stomp them all, pocketing a couple coins along the way. He was then suddenly attacked by a Paratroopa, but he knocked its wings clean off and kicked its shell at a pair of passing Goombas. He noticed another, followed by a Koopa Troopa coming towards him from a higher tree, but he slid under it to hide himself, and the two Koopas walked right along. He snickered to himself and jumped up upon the tree he was just under.
Finally, he saw the glimpse of red and a loud, “Woohoo!” which could only be his brother.
“Mario!” He shouted. But again, Mario kept on, leaving his poor little brother behind. Luigi sighed and looked down into the darkness of a pit below. He breathed deeply, then with a running start, he jumped from the edge of the tree and landed safely on the cliff on the other side. He hid behind a short tree from a patrolling Goomba, but noticed a Paratroopa who was guarding the area. He snuck past this foe, but was immediately seen by two more Goombas who were followed shortly by a Spikey. He dove underneath the tree into the tall grass below to hide, then sighed with relief once they passed.
“The Mushroom Kingdom has an entire army, so why do they always send a couple of plumbers to do their work?” he asked himself.
Just then, he felt a slimy liquid substance fall upon his hat. He looked up and upon seeing a Piranha Plant towering above him, he let out a scream that echoed throughout the entire woods. Just as the Piranha Plant lunged at him, he slid passed it, over three others while just barely missing the grasps of a pair of patrolling Red Paratroopas, then landed face down in a pipe.
He lifted his head and looked up to see another Paratroopa diving towards him. He merely jumped and it disappeared with a chortle down into the pipe. He then jumped over another pipe with a pair of hungry Piranha Plants, then bounded off of a Red Koopa, but stopped abruptly atop the next pipe and became quite horrified at the sight before him.
Just feet before the green plumber's nose was a small army of Boos guarding a great castle, each one's beady eyes looking directly at him with an empty expression. He began to shiver violently, and as soon as he hid his eyes, every one came rushing towards him. He screamed once he was grabbed by the collar of his shirt, but upon opening his eyes, he saw his brother who hurriedly dragged him into the castle.
Mario shut the doors behind them quickly, then turned to Luigi with a smile.
“Don't give me that!” Luigi screamed, “You ditched me back there without a second thought!”
Mario was about to speak but was interrupted by a booming laugh...
“Bwa ha ha! So, you've found me out, huh?” Luigi began shivering and whined as he buried his face in his hands, but Mario looked all around in anticipation. “That's fine! I can unleash my new army on you! They're craving for some action after being cramped in this dark dungeon all day! So bring it on, big shot! Bwa ha ha ha!”
“N-n-now wait a m-minute, B-Bro!” but Mario did not. Mario dashed off with eyes of flame, climbing the walls of the castle by jumping from wall to wall, then flipped over an ascending Pyrosphere and rolled under a chain of fireballs. He quickly but carefully grabbed a Fire Flower from its container between the two chains and continued onward, sliding under the Thwomps that crashed into the ground from above. He stopped under a question block, but did not strike it, for he had all the fire power he needed.
Mario now gazed upon a lake of lava with several fireballs leaping from its depths. He lunged to a narrow platform of stone, then to another, but found himself in the path of a great ball of flame. He screamed and fell hard to the stone ground below. Looking up, he saw a vast army of Dry Bones, Dark Goombas, and Red Paratroopas. At the end of the fleet of baddies was Bowser himself, gloating in his imminent triumph.
“You think this is big, just you wait! I've only used a fraction of the Power Stars power to pump up my minions, but I'm done with all that now! I've had it with you and your lanky loser of a brother! Today is the day the Mushroom Kingdom will cry out the name of their fallen hero! You're time is at its final hour, Mario!”
Mario stood up as he held his chest in pain, but he smiled through it and beckoned the king to do his worst.
“So be it, then, what are we waiting for! Minions, show this punk what you can do! Rip off that pathetic 'stache and bring me his head!”
The entire castle was booming with roars and the thunderous pounding of the Koopan army. Mario stood strong against them as they came forward, but it was not his time to go after all, for behind him, Luigi came crashing down and blasted the oncoming hordes with blazing fireballs.
“You know what to do, Bro!”
Mario nodded and darted through the path that Luigi had made. He leaped between the oncoming fireballs, dived under the remaining Paratroopas, and flipped over the Dark Goombas while reducing the Dry Bones to dust. A pair of Boos then chased him back a ways, but he was able to lose them, then he was face to face with Bowser himself who roared with rage, flames bursting from his mouth and smoke from his nostrils.
“This isn't over, plumber! I still have the Star, and you'll have to get passed me to get it; a feat which I highly doubt you can accomplish, given those burn marks on your body!”
The Koopa King then drew deep of air and bellowed a great flame which charred the stone ground black. Mario rolled to the side, but even the heat waves coming from the flames were enough to burn the hero.
“Go for it, Bro!”
Mario whisked around to see Luigi, palms outstretched, send a mighty whirling sphere of flame towards Bowser. Bowser threw his head back, then let a roar so thunderous and loud that it shook the entire keep, and the sound waves blew Luigi's own attack back at him. Luigi screamed as he covered his face from the heat, but after a moment, he opened his eyes after he felt nothing but the air around him to see his brother shining with the power of the Star the tyrant had been too preoccupied to protect.
Suddenly, the ground and everything around began to quake violently.
“Bwa ha ha! You didn't think I had a backup plan, did you!? The Star was what held my keep up, and since it's no longer in its place, the whole place will collapse with you in it!”
“But,” Luigi interjected, “Aren't you going to be in it too?”
Bowser was silent for a brief moment, then ended it with a quick, “Crap.”
Bowser then took out a small device and pressed a red button, which lowered a long pipe from the ceiling.
“Whatever, I've got plenty more of these and by the time you figure out where they are, I'll have an army that will be enough to stand against anyone who opposes me, even the world itself! See ya, suckers!”
The ceiling began to fall in as Bowser jumped into the pipe. “Bro, we've got to get out of here unless you wanna become a plumber pancake!”
Mario looked at the pipe which Bowser had failed to retract, then grabbed Luigi and jumped in with him. As they crawled upward, they could hear the castle fall beneath. They climbed up and up until they finally came to a horizontal pipe which led to the opening. They slid down and out onto the cap of a very large mushroom.
“Look, Bro!” Luigi exclaimed as he pointed, “There's the outpost!”
Mario jumped from the mushroom and slid down the flagpole followed by Luigi, then met the missing toads who had gone to investigate before them and the group had a brief celebration. But the merriment was not to last, for the pounding of the coming armies could not only be heard, but felt through the earth.
“Looks like you and I have our work cut out for us, huh Mario?” Luigi asked with a nervous grin.
Mario gave a quick smile to his brother, then walked out to see a great army approaching. He looked at the Star which twinkled in his hand, then to his brother.
“Let's-a go, Luigi!”

That's it for now. This was just for fun really, so I didn't do my absolute best on it, but I did as much as one who has stayed up the entire night doing nothing but writing, level editing, and listening to VG remixes, can do.
