Well, at least you have a good way of spending your free time! (I envy you Red; I have to do a crapload of research for a class I want to take next year. )

Egads. I honestly hope you know what you're getting into, being a Dragoon, a TaruTaru Dragoon no less -- trust me, man -- I have played this game far more than you, and have seen far more... I don't know what you heard elsewhere, which I had heard something to the extent of Dragoons being somewhat remotely useful in FFXI -- but beleive me. If You wanted to pick a more useless job, you couldn't. IT's your choice, and fun is indeed the point of the game -- but as a TaruTaru Dragoon, expect a lot of very, very, very long waits for parties past level 30, because you indeed will -- Dragoons ae nigh-useless as it is, and a Taru Dragoon just has weaker Melee stats than all other races, making them doubley-disadvantaged. If you can somehow pull it off, power to you -- but I honestly, hardly doubt it. Now some Adventures with Dilly since I have a place to pointlessly mention him. Dilly, in the Blue and White, Level 50... Oogling over some White Mage Taru-girl in White Mage Artifact, heh... one day, Dilly... one day. *petpets* Eeeeee. Dilly's in love! Hahah. "She's looking right at me.... Double-scoop ice cream" And, Dilly leveling his 32 Red Mage with his Uber-Pimp Baron's Chapeau.

i really dont care what you say about dragoon, since half the stuff is pretty much fake.
"I am a Dragoon. I love myself. I am the true meaning of Sexy. Look up the word 'sexy' and you will see my picture as the definition. Other jobs could only wish and dream to be sexy like me. Other jobs strive for sexiness but I know they will never make it. Sexiness R Us. Sexiness is like the Artifact set, Rare/EX DRG only. Not to mention I have the sexiest AF in the game. Everyone knows this but some keep it quiet because jealousy is un-sexy. I am the Sexy, the Sex, and the Secks. If I were to explode, there would be sexiness everywhere. My Wyvern readies Sexy Breathe. I Jump, High Jump, Super High Jump and top it off with a Super Sexy High Jump.
Dragoon, Paragon of Sexy Excellence.
Spread the love, glory, pride, joy, humbleness, power and above all, the sexiness of Dragoon. "
im going to be a drg/whm for most of my carrier. for the rest, its all drg/sam, and drg/war partly.
so cute gradius, are you married ^,^!!

i really dont care what you say about dragoon, since half the stuff is pretty much fake. What the hell do you mean, "fake"? I've played this game far longer than you, experienced far more than you -- dragoons aren't paragons of skill, trust, justice, honor -- they're paragons of what NOT to do in life. They're easilly the least advantaged job with the least bonuses, and in turn are the least wanted. Beleive me, one doesn't get to level 50 without knowing these kinds of things. I don't care what you do, fun is the point of the game --- but trust me, not some people who haven't truly experienced the game for what it is -- Dragoons in general have an exreemely hard time finding parties as anything they add to a party, any other job could do better. As a TaruTaru, it'll be even more difficult, being generally a weaker melee as-is. Don't be saying that my informatrion is fake, that I'm lying, that I don't know what I'm talking about -- because it's hardly the case... go to any real FFXI forum and ask, they'll more often than not tell you that Dragoon is the least useful job. So if you choose that path, you'll be spending 90% of your play time sitting in Jeuno looking for a party that you'll rarely get. Dragoon artifact armor is hardly Sexy, or the sex -- it's merely Square-Enix's way of making Dragoons the remotest amount acceptable, because if you've ever bothered to check, their Artifact isn't even that good. Nor is their relic. And no, Dilly's not married.... I used to play FFXI. I quit after about a month tho... It just wasn't good enough to beat RuneScape. Hah. RuneScape wishes it was a real MMORPG... it's just a n00b-filled pre-play to a REAL MMORPG like FFXI. If anything, you, like many others, couldn't (or couldn't be bothered) to deal with with the game's deep complexity.

dragoons, expecially drg/whms, are soloists. they dont party very often, (of course, after the lvl 40 point) they are not ment to. dragoon armor is the secks weather your blind or not. if the dragoon job fails me (which i doubt, seeing many sucessful dragoons) i will switch to summoner.

Hahahah, soloists? I think not. I don't know who you're finding this misinformed information from.
Just trust me, I've seen more of anything than I'm sure you or your misinformed sources have -- if you can pull it off, then great, you're skilled indeed. A Taru Summoner, however... now THAT has potential. >:3
Don't get me started on Dragoon Artifact, please.

my friend, black.yoshi (or black the white mage) is trying to become a smn/whm with an elvaan race X D. i think hes better situated for the pld/war combo altho he dosent feel like training his war.

Eeep.
Well, indeed an Elvaan Summoner/White Mage is far better than a TaruTaru Dragoon, but... hahah. I'm just biased against Elvans and really hate them a lot, hahah. They also aren't the best mages -- but are certainly passable and far better than Dragoons of any race, let alone TaruTaru.
Know what I think you should do? Be a BLM, WHM, SMN, RDM, whatever mage -- but remain as your TaruTaru, hehe... Tarus are just teh skills, and as Mages, are just plain über. A TaruTaru Summoner gains rediculous power later on, so I'd really consider it.
In any case I'd reccomend staying TaruTaru, heh. :3 Glad to see you listened to me and didn't just dismiss my advice as nonsense... I appreciate that.
