It's "dyslexic," you uneducated shmo! Hurr, just kidding.
People usually don't like anything outstanding from their average hum-drum lives. If they see something like that, they'll try to tear it down, usually so they can feel better. That's usually how it is. You just have to show them that it doesn't bother you, just like you aren't doing now.
Where's this coming from all of the sudden?

Well, this certainly came out of nowhere...
I don't think I've ever witnessed any kind of discrimination against dyslexic people, or maybe I just haven't really come across anyone with legally diagnosed dyslexia.
By the way, your signature image is cute and awesome, but huge. Shorten its height to 150 pixels at most.

A friend of mine back in college was dyslexic.
Never bothered her, nor myself, at all.

The problem with dyslexia is that a lot of people use it as an excuse. Some people who aren't that bright just go on about dyslexia and don't really understand it, and just use it to get out of ridicule. The people who actually DO have dyslexia generally don't mention it much.

Some people try to crowbar in arguments about dyslexia to get out of being taken to task about their writing or reading. Until now dyslexia's never really come up.

I'm not entirely sure I've ever seen any opposition there. However, it often can be quite difficult to piece together their phrasings. I tutored a young girl in spelling, and her parents nor myself could discover for the life of us why her grammar and spelling did not improve. I soon discovered both her and her father were dyslexic. Often the burden of dyslexia leads way to other positive traits. For example, the young girl and her father were extremely talented musicians by ear, though they had a rough time writing. Everyone has pros and cons; everyone is human, however.

That's a bit unnecessary, considering that there are a lot of people out there who can't even read or write, let alone have dyslexia.

Well, the thing with these boards is that there is no rule with going on a total tangent and completely derailing the topic. Just as long as things stay logical and reasonable. As of it makes sense to go on a tangent. If you're not pleased with the thread, then take the opportunity to talk about something related. That's how it usually works around here.

Yoshidragon, I speak for everyone when I say that we think no less of you either way. Dyslexic or not, you're still a great friend! Besides, my own grandfather is dyslexic. I would never hate someone just because they can't spell! I may be a bit of a spelling snob, considering if I make one letter out of place, i instantly edit it but I don't mind if it's others who make the mistake. I'm with you all the way, Yoshi Buddy! (I know Yoshidragon from YAF as well, and we're Yoshi buddies there too.)

I am dyslexic. So far, only a few retarded drama-furries have given me crap about it.
Honestly, I seriously don't think you're dyslexic. No dyslexic I know (and trust me, there's more of us than you think) spell as bad as you do. No offense, but don't pull the dyslexic card just to avoid looking unintelligent.

Bass actually does have a point. If you were spelling horribly in reality, then fair enough, but people make typo's all the time when typing, especially over internet.
You've seen me type over MSN and IRC, after all. I actually have to take my time when posting on forums so not to make typo's, or miss out my punctuation, but on MSN, I couldn't give a darn. I still make the occasional error even on the forums, but that's just a natural occurrence to my lack of awareness.
Here's some facts for you. "Chat speak" is contributing to the rising case of bad spelling, same for those who like to text a lot on their mobile phones. So in this day and age, dyslexia is being overlooked because of those reasons towards bad spelling. What's even more terrifying, schools are actually starting to accept this form of language.
Again, we're not saying you don't have dyslexia (although Bass, I think you were very harsh in your wording there), we're just saying that you might not have it and are just too lazy when typing, because believe me, I've seen people who type similarly to you and have claimed that they don't have it.

I suppose I was a little harsh-sounding. I stand by what I said, but I apologize for sounding so rude.
