Too bad it's a port! No, you don't need (better) glasses, you read it right the first time. Stop rubbing your eyes you optimistic pig!
According to Nintendo Power:
Enhanced for Wii GameCube classics return with Wii controls. Nintendo has announced that updated versions of the hit Gamecube games Pikmin and Mario Power Tennis will be coming to Wii this March. Known as New Play Control! Mario Power Tennis and New Play Control! Pikmin, the games will feature the same content as their original versions, but with all-new Wii-specific controls.
End quote. Three cheers for New Play Control!! Oh-ho, you Japanese and your exclamation points and supers in all your fun skippidydoodahdeedohdiddlelumpfibbitrimmshlidoodledappyduck titles! I'm going to go question reality, now, among other outlandish things.
EDIT: Yes, I edited only to change the skippidydoodeedahdoh to skippidydoodahdeedohdiddlelumpfibbitrimmshlidoodledappyduck. You can use that word for fifty bucks, if you want.

What's with all these Wii-makes?

Wow, this is insane. That kinda means I can get Power Tennis for $20 cheaper on the Cube rather than get the Wii version for $50. They should do like RE4 and make it cheaper when they re-released it on the Wii.

Nintendo's economy is probably suffering. That's my guess. I just hope it's a reasonable asking price. I don't think these deserve the full price that goes with other Wii games.

I don't know, last I heard Nintendo were raking it in like nobody's business from Wii Fit, but really I don't see why these games need to be made at all. If anything, instead of releasing the exact same game, adding some content wouldn't go amiss if they plan on charging full price for these.
Sure am I glad I bought a 360

I honestly don't see what's so bad about it. You could already play Pikmin on the Wii since it plays GameCube discs, but for those who missed out on Pikmin, here it is again. Not to mention all the "Play Control!" games will be budget titles, so it's really a matter of buy it if you want it, and don't if you don't.
Personally, I'm waiting for Metroid Prime and Metroid Prime 2, since I missed out on the second, and would probably enjoy the first better with Metroid Prime 3 controls.

I'd rather see something new come out than ports with added waggle, I guess. To me it just seems a waste of time rereleasing old games, but I suppose this is Nintendos new strategy of bringing in new people to gaming while alienating a bunch of their supporters all at the same time.

You can complain all you want about these, but hey. A LOT of people who have a Wii, have never owned a GameCube. Of course Nintendo is just trying to make easy money with this, but come on, can you blame them? They're not a charity organization, they want to make money like every other company. Plus, I think some of the New Play Control games actually DESERVE a second chance, since they didn't have the chance to sell well on the not-so-popular GameCube.
Of course I would also like new games over these ports, but meh, that's not gonna happen until Nintendo finally decides to do so. So for now let's just enjoy what we have, pick one of these that you've missed in the previous generation if you like, and wait 'til the Big N starts making something for their fans once more. They can't just forget about their fanbase, it'll be their downfall on the long run.

I'm going to have to say that I agree with Yosher. Over the past five days (it's only been that long?), I've actually had a change of heart about the New Play Control! stuff regardless of how I feel about the use of unneeded overzealous punctuation points. I've been reading up on it, and it seems that they're getting a makeover, both graphics and gameplay-wise. Plus, they're releasing the original Metroid Prime (though it hasn't been slated for a US release, which is odd, because everyone else is getting it, evidently), and that was one of the two I actually enjoyed (the other being Metrodi Fusion). Donkey Kong Jungle Beat, according to Wiki, is getting whole new levels added and is supposedly focusing a bit more on traditional platforming. I don't know if I agree with using the Wiimote and Nunchuk to simulate bongo bashing, but, we'll see what happens. And, from what I've read, Shigeru Miyamoto has stated that he is working on the next Pikmin, and though that information is a bit dated, I don't think he was talking about the New Play Control! Pikmin. That seems too easy, and he is not an easy going man, from what I gather. Anyway, we'll just have to wait and see.

You can't miss out on anything, you can still play GameCube games with your Wii...

Yes. But the GameCube sold poorly. Thus the games on it sold poorly too. There's millions of people who have a Wii but don't have (or had) a GameCube. Plus, the GC versions aren't in production anymore, and not everyone is able to find the GC version, and some people don't like to get a used copy.

GameCube games aren't going to be hard to find anytime soon. Even most SNES games I can find with ease on eBay, and eBay isn't your only option to buy things like these online.

I never said they would be hard to find anytime soon. I said that not everyone would be able to actually FIND them. Mainly because many people don't want to buy stuff online, and not everyone has a local gameshop, or at least someone in the neighbourhood, who has and/or wants to sell these GC versions of the games. I personally try not to buy online too much either. And if it wouldn't be for these New Play Control series, I would never have considered still buying DK Jungle Beat like I am now. And I'm quite sure I'm not the only one who thinks like that.
