Ok, here goes. It was mentioned a while back about the possibility of a Poetry forum, here, on Yoshi's Corner. I was PM'd earlier today about the same subject, and I've decided to follow it up, however, during my chat with your forum administrator, TimYoshi, he mentioned "Do we have enough poet's?", and asked me to start a petition.
All those in favour, post. I would've PM'd a bunch of people, but while I'm trustworthy and all, it only takes someone to say "Have you edited those pm's to look like people have actually entered into it?", so, to avoid that, post here saying you wan't the forum, and you'll use it. If someone has a problem regarding it, could you PM me rather than posting it in here? It's easier to count actual requests for it then. ^^
So, Yay? Post and let us know!

I think a section on poetry would be okay,
Because it would be great to entertain our brains
In lots of neat little rhyming words,
For great thoughts are written, read, and heard;
Please Timyoshi, grant us just this one,
For may great things can be done;
We all have images left to be told,
Give us freedom of poetry, and let the stories unfold.

I second this motion. many people here may actually be better than they thing a poetry. I'll cooperate with mine:
green, scaly, cool
with a long tounge as a tool.

Yeah, poetry's good. Maybe add a sparkle of depth to this world of n00bs?

Definitly, I think it's a good idea, and I like the poems you guys did with your posts! Here, might as well.
This idea is great,
time for something new,
poety is a common trait,
kind of like morning dew.
So think about it please,
and thanks for offering,
our poems may appease,
and won't not amount to a thing!

I frankly do believe that YC,
In my own humble opinion,
Really needs a section of poetry,
Where all can post their emotion.
It may not be done right away,
Nor could it ever end up being done,
If not it would be to my great dismay,
No place for these writings is unfun.
Having this section to call our own,
Would be beneficial, to one to all,
It would show how much we've grown,
To mature individuals when once we were small.
I could go on long about this,
Yet I do not think it is highly necessary,
Redundancy is something that I dismiss,
All I only need for the poetry section is that I agree.

Ha ha, I may not have a poetry entry to support this section, but why limit our YC members to long stories and epics? we should encourage all forms of writing, including poetry, that way we may express ourselves in many ways, I don't often write poetry, but I know a few other members here do, and I say we shouldn't stop them from getting the section that they desire.

We already have sections for stories, both yoshi based and non-yoshi based.
It seems that posting in this thread would mean that you would've signed your support for the petition, just like in reality. This new-fangled interweb is gleefuly tearing down the necessity of human contact with an 800mm "dora" mortar type cannon.
If people want it, then it should be added. Aren't most of the other types of writing currently being covered by the Fan Journal section?

The fanfic sections are for longer stories, generally. We could have a "Short Stories" section, I guess. I'm good either way it goes...
