Ha ha, I may not have a poetry entry to support this section, but why limit our YC members to long stories and epics? we should encourage all forms of writing, including poetry, that way we may express ourselves in many ways, I don't often write poetry, but I know a few other members here do, and I say we shouldn't stop them from getting the section that they desire. Yeah, hey PFY, how about a "writing" section instead? People could write their own stories, poems, reviews, etc.; Poetry is too narrow a topic to justify creating a whole new forum. I'm ok with the creation of an all-inclusive writing forum. Writers forum it is, although the reason I didn't siggest it was because I classed 'writing' as 'fan fic's' so I kept it as a Poem forum until I was suggested otherwise. Well, it entirely depends on the problem. The reason why I said to pm rather than say in the topic was because it'd be easier to distinguish 'Yay' votes from questions. If the problem was something that'd apply to the forum as a whole, and require in depth discussion, I'd of course ask for permission to bring the subject up, and post when given the ok to find out a work around in which everyone can be happy about, or even better, the solution in question makes the use of a particular thing more fun, or challenging or maybe just better. Besides, TimYoshi's given the ok, so I guess this can be closed since the subject is not longer valid, and people can post in the rules topic in there if they need to ask something, and moving this will just clutter it up. *locked*

Are you absolutely sure, that the real reason wasn't that you wanted people to think nobody was against your idea? A fair vote cannot exist if negative input is omitted. The way you did it, nobody (except you) will ever know if anyone was against your idea. Thus ensuring an approval... Let's not bias petitions in any way.

The Poll option is available for this purpose.
In any case, whatever Sinister Motivations that PFY may or may not have had are irrelevant now that the extra writing forum is online and transmitting.
So what's YOUR guilty pleasure? Clamp it.

It is relevant if you think about future petitions.

I was close to replying to this topic, then proboards logged me out, and I lost my post.
Heh, the particular reason for the "If problems, PM me" wasn't anything to do with the fact that if anyone disliked the idea, they couldn't post it on the board. It was completely upto the member wether they wanted to announce a reason as to why it wasn't suitable to put the forum in, so effectively, people had their shot at posting their disapproval, which of course, "All suggestions are welcome, regardless of praise or complaint" and if anything, complaints are more useful, since they can be fixed to work around a particular person's needs, and in the end, benefiting everyone.
It didn't bother me if the forum was posted since I couldn't successfully write a poem to save my life, but it's nothing to do with my opinion, The member's asked for it, and a petition was posted to show that it would be thourougly used.
Again, the "pm if problem" was put there to help people put their point across without being put down by any board member who desperately want's the board. As a forum administrator, you need to listen to the words of your members. I've used that policy since I first started a forum way back in February last year, although, it was only really used so me and a bunch of friends could talk.
Regarding the petition, and any disapprovals, none entered my inbox, and I don't delete any pm I receive, although, I will reopen this topic now, and ask if anyone has any problems with the general writing forum, or any suggestions or anything someone would like to get off their mind so we can make amends to any rules imposed on the writing forum. Just so you know I'm not rigging anything.
So, does anyone have any problems with the General writing forum? Do you have any suggestions on how we could improve it? Should we just merge it with the fan fic forum and adjust the fan fic forum accordingly?
Your (The members) opinions matter, and that is why I'm asking this now. Suggestion or complaint, your opinions will be listened to, and staff will discuss about how to resolve any particular issues you may have regarding the General writing forum.

I kind of like the separate forums the way they are. It feels like it's in a little more of an order, for some reason. Besides, I never thought about writing short stories until that new forum was posted ;D
