Okay, so, some of you may already know that I took a class by the very lengthy name of AP 2D Design Portfolio. Uh...yeah! AP Portfolio was the most demanding art course I've ever taken in my life. Every Monday a new piece was due, and it was expected to have some 15+ hours of work spent on each outside of class. Ugh! Even if it was a pain in the rear, I am very glad I took the class. I learned so much!
The biggest project of the year was a collection of twelve pieces called our "Concentration". They were all of the same subject matter and all shared a common, centralized, meaning. It took me a while to come up with my idea at the beginning of the year, but then it hit me! Old cars!
I could go on and on about my idea, but if I had to sum it up for you...I believe that seeing old cars on the side of the road is a sad sight. Those vehicles have been forgotten, neglected and abused. I believe they should be appreciated more for what they used to be. They should be appreciated, respected as a representation of an era and culture long gone. Anyways, they are all done with Prismacolor pencils on paper, size 'averaging' around 16 inches wide by 12 inches tall. These are all based on original photographs that I took of rusted cars in a lot in Winder, GA. And if you've managed the patience to read this far, I thank you! I've put a lot of effort into this project! ^^

Thanks for looking, and I hope you enjoyed. I would have posted my artist statement, but it went through so much revision since I saved it on my computer. I don't even have the final copy I sent to college board. ^^;
I don't have my AP scores yet, but I'll be sure to share them when the time comes. Thanks again for looking! ^^
